Dry Aged Langenfelder Farm Pork Chop - A dinner plate features a dry-aged pork chop topped with sauce, broccolini, and a creamy side, with bread and a dollar bill on the table.

downtown Frederick is a beautiful Tucktaway destination here in Maryland. And the tasting room is nothing short of amazing. From the decor to the amazing food and service. I can't wait to get back there. Also I'm normally not a big fan of the table bread, however, this bread was amazing. I think I had a few rounds of bread. all of my food was amazing. Was there with a group and everyone really enjoyed themselves and can't wait until the next visit

Downtown Frederick is a lovely place to visit and it has great restaurants to choose from. The Tasting Room is a must visit when you are there. The decoration is very modern and clean, staff is friendly and food is great. They got some good Asian fusion menu to choose from. We had a brunch there and my spicy chicken sandwich was amazing.

Overall a 5-star bar experience We weren't able to get reservations a couple of days out so, decided to wing it on Friday night. It was risky but well worth it! Haven't been here in over a year (maybe more) but, the waitstaff is always friendly and very competent with the mixology! Definitely try a seasonal cocktail! Hubby and I decided to share a few plates and an entree. Started with the beef tartare, which was prepared expertly and very fresh. That being said, this is not your classic tartare. It had an Asian flare, which was tasty and unique... but sometimes a girl is craving a bit of classic flavor. It still merits a 5 star because it was prepared perfectly and looked beautiful. Then, we had the fried artichoke. This is a GEM of an appetizer! Whole artichoke hearts, cooked just right. Plated over a not too lemony hummus type spread. I love it when you can actually taste the star ingredient, which in this case is the artichoke Finally, we shared the scallop entree. Again, the cook knows exactly how to prepare this dish! Nice crusty sear, no crazy over seasoning. You can taste the lovely, fleshy scallops. A few of the bites were a smidge gritty...nothing off putting but, noticeable. Would absolutely order this again! Dessert was a lovely corn cake with berries and a fresh whipped cream. Sounds a little weird, and i was looking to try something different. This was it and I'm glad i did!! Loved the crunchy texture of the corn cake and the berries were a wonderful mix of tart with a hint of sweet. Paired dessert with their signature Espresso Martini for a perfecto and memorable finish! Overall a GREAT date night and met some lovely locals at the bar. Do's: try to make a reservation. Hit the bar! Try a seasonal cocktail. Definitely, go a little outside your comfort zone. Don't: Forget to communicate if you are in a time crunch. Forget to smile. Taste a complete strangers amazing looking drink...unless... no, don't do it! Not saying i did..

I had this dish. The way it describes, not how exactly it comes out. Stone bass- miso glaze | taro croquette | bok choy | shiitake | sake buerre blanc | 40 It was so bad. The fish was very fishy. No bok choy, it was replaced with collards green. I had a bite of collards green, it was so sandy. Taro croquette, no taro flavor. Sake buerre blanc, taste like heavy cream. Do not get this dish. Over rated and over priced for Frederick.

In a word? STELLAR. I've been to The Tasting Room many times and always enjoy it. But my experience there this weekend for my friend's birthday was the best yet. I started with one of their experimental cocktails -- the verde daiquiri -- which is a lovely concoction of rum, juices, and green Chartreuse (which is heavenly all on its own). DIVINE. Our group of three old friends decided to order an array of things from the menu and share. We got Nduja mussels, octopus with romesco sauce, scallops crudo, lobster mashed potatoes, New England clam chowder, and skirt steak with fingerling potatoes. All -- especially the octopus, which was cooked to perfection -- was excellent. We asked Justin, TR's sommelier, for something special and celebratory. He brought us a lovely bottle of Loire Valley Cremant (because no celebration is complete without bubbles) that was absolutely delicious and, along with Justin's witty banter, the perfect complement to our feast. TL; DR: The Tasting Room is an outstanding spot. Great vibe, great food, great service. Love it. Can't wait to go back.

Went to this place for my boyfriends birthday. It was okay they have a consistent menu everyday. I ordered the short rib and he ordered the crab cakes. The short rib was pretty dry and expensive for what you got. The crab cakes was pretty much just all breaded and price was a little lower for what we usually pay. The service was really great though as our server frequently checked up on us and was very nice. The best thing here was probably the cheesecake with guava sorbet! who would've thought that that combo with cheesecake would be so decadent and delicious. Like a cooking creamy flavor in your mouth. overall, if you have a one time special occasion you could try this place as it's a staple local in downtown frederick, but i probably won't be going back anytime soon

I ordered the duck and my wife had the scallops. The scallops were good and the duck was perfectly cooked but bland as were the accompaniments so overall the food was average and not worth the price point. It was very loud and we couldn't even hold a conversation due to this fact. The server was very nice but with so many better options in Frederick we will not be back.

I came here for brunch on a Sunday. The service was amazing. The waiters were very polite and attentive. They had a nice menu. I ordered lobster chowder and the Chesapeake Benedict. Both were really good. The chowder had the taste of lobster throughout and had a good amount of lobster meat. The chowder is a little sweet but not too overwhelming. The Benedict was really flavorful also. I would definitely come back here to try other things. The only thing that could have made this better was if they offered bottomless mimosas. 1 mimosa was $10 and the glass it came in was a quarter of the way full. Not really a good value in my opinion.

The main dining room is absolutely gorgeous with the stonework and architecture. The bar area was very busy as we were on the tail end of their happy hour. Our server walked us through the menu. We started with the ravioli appetizer. It had shaved truffles on top and egg yolk covered in Parmesan cheese. They almost had a little crunch to them and the inside was filled with ricotta cheese. The sides are à la carte as is most of the menu. I ordered the tavern burger. It came with beef fat glaze among other spreads and was very well seasoned. The side of beef fat fries were also well seasoned and crispy. The best dish was the pot roast. It was so tender and the gravy was so flavorful. This paired perfect with their creamy mashed potatoes. The service was decent but the food and atmosphere was absolutely amazing. They have a huge variety of cocktails and wine. It's a bit more formal Dining. It doesn't require a jacket or anything.

We received fantastic service from start to finish, from being seated right at our reservation time to our server answering our dietary needs questions to our dishes coming out in a timely and well-paced manner. Wye Oak's ambiance being set in a former church/religious institution is unique, providing an interesting ambiance. However, the food left much to be desired. While the presentation on every dish ranged from good to amazing, out of the seven dishes we shared only 1.5 of them were delicious. Some of the dishes were bland and one note; others were overcooked or overseasoned. We shared the following dishes: Coddies: While the cod was perfectly cooked and breaded, it had no flavor. The cauliflower tartar sauce added nothing to the dish; the cauliflower giardiniera at least added some nice crunch and acid. Savory Parmesan Cheesecake: The cheesecake had no flavor; the acid and freshness of the cherry tomatoes of the arugula pesto could not elevate or salvage this dish. Cheese Ravioli: By far the best dish of the evening. The ravioli tasted fresh, were nicely cooked, and the cheeses and sauce were delicious. Smoked Beet Pastrami: The beets were well-cooked and fantastically seasoned, complemented perfectly by the dressing. However, there needed to be more beets and a better beet-to-funnel cake ratio; while the funnel cake added some nice crunch, there was way too much of it and did not do much for the dish. Brussels Sprouts: Well-seasoned, although very greasy and overcooked. Broccoli di Ciccio: Perfectly cooked, but very salty. It did have good heat. House Rolls with butter: Warm and fine, but nothing distinct. I would try elsewhere if you are looking to dine out in Frederick, especially given Wye Oak Tavern's prices.

They start you with warm complementary bread with butter. The filet mignon was our favorite dish with soft meat and mashed potatoes. The sauce was a little sour to complement the meat. The linguini in the seafood linguine was cooked soft so it's good for little kids, but if you would like it more al dente, you'll probably have to let them know. There were 3 mussels, 2 scallops and several shrimp all cooked well. The green beans were cooked so they were still crunchy. Some of mine were a bit too undercooked for me. It was our first year of dating anniversary but we failed to notice when looking the place up that they closed at 7:30pm. We walked in at about 7:40pm and the bartender regretfully informed us that they had just closed. We accepted the situation for the error it was on our part and opted to go elsewhere. So barely 3 minutes after walking up to the entrance, we were heading back to our truck. The chefs were still there and immediately asked us why we weren't staying to eat. When we explained that we hadn't realized they closed at 7:30, they looked at us and said, "Go back in there and tell them we said we're still open for you guys." We were a bit concerned that we'd cause hard feelings and said we could just come back a different day, and they wouldn't have it. "We're the guys who'll be cooking, not them, if we're okay with it, then what have you got to lose?" We looked at each other and thought briefly and headed back up to the entrance. I had mentioned that I had a spur of the moment 'hankerin' for German Food, and he said, "Well, you're at the right place!" Before we got back in the front door, one of the chefs (we learned shortly after were the owners) was already letting the bar staff know to get us seated and taken care of. My girlfriend ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu, and I ordered the Pork Schnitzel. We of course sampled each others' dishes and it was beyond amazing on both entrees. Some of the best schnitzel I've had NOT in Europe, and the mushroom onion gravy was so savory and rich. The Chicken was loaded with flavor and I could definitely see that being on a future order for myself. After we were beyond stuffed, we decided to split a dessert for the occasion and had the Chocolate Mousse Cake. When the bartender learned it was our first anniversary, she made sure to get a candle to put in the cake for us, it was a very nice and welcoming touch. The bar staff was on their game with the service, keeping drinks full and checking on us frequently to make sure we were good to go. There were only two other tables still seated in the restaurant at that point, and they were actually there already eating when we first arrived. They were still there when we departed, so we assumed they may have been family friends or locally important patrons. The ambiance of the restaurant has a very British Pub feel to it, and it is so amazingly cozy and feels like home. We both left with an amazing impression and cannot wait for another chance to try some of the other menu options. I'm very curious to try the Filet Mignon next time, but the Stroganoff looked quite tempting as well. I think we both found a place that we'll absolutely keep on the short list of places to revisit next time we're in town. It was such a memorable experience and we so greatly appreciated the flexibility and hospitality they demonstrated. That type of service is so hard to find these days.
