My new favorite restaurant in Frederick! Everything was so flavorful and fresh tasting.

Peruvian food is one of the world's great cuisines, and Lima Soul makes a pretty convincing case for giving it more attention. We started with the Pulpo al Olivo, which was phenomenal. Tender octopus, great texture, and that creamy botija olive sauce was the kind of thing you want to bottle and take home. Or just lick off the plate, depending on how much dignity you are trying to preserve. The Trío Cevichero was also excellent. All three were good, but the ají amarillo version was easily my favorite; bright, tangy, a little spicy, and the one I kept going back to. The only dish that did not really land for me was the Scallops a la Parmesana. The scallops themselves were fine, but the Parmesan, garlic butter, and creamy ají amarillo combination felt a little heavy and seemed to mute the scallops rather than highlight them. Not bad, just the one thing I probably would not order again. For my main course, I had the Lomo Fino en Salsa de Soya. Very good cut of beef, cooked exactly the way I asked for it, with a rich soy, onion, and tomato sauce. Straightforward, well executed, and very satisfying. We also had a traditional Pisco Sour and a maracuyá Pisco Sour. Both were very good, although the maracuyá version is dangerously easy to drink. Dessert was the Helado de Lúcuma, which I had never tried before. Apparently lúcuma is one of Peru's classic ice cream flavors. It has a distinctive, almost caramel-like, slightly earthy sweetness. If you are Peruvian, you probably already know exactly what this tastes like. If you are not, it is absolutely worth trying at least once. Service was excellent. Marcelo took great care of us on our first visit, and one of the co-owners greeted us when we arrived. The place was packed and lively, but service never felt rushed or inattentive. I'm not local to Frederick, but I pass through often. Lima Soul has now given me a very good reason to stop. I'll definitely be back, partly because the food was excellent and partly because there is still an unreasonable amount of that menu left for me to investigate. read more

Extremely slow kitchen but surprisingly decent food. I was ready to write a scathing review because it took 45 mins to an hour to get our food after ordering, but everything I ordered actually tasted pretty good. Ensalada andina de Lima salad: a lot of fun textures and flavors from the assortment of veggies and grains. I actually ordered this with the Caesar salad dressing instead of the mayo based one, and the dressing was good - I made sure to get every last drop. Also adding chicken for $8 was a surprisingly good deal, they give you a large serving of flavorful chicken and don't skimp. Pollo dorado de Lima: chicken was tasty and cooked well. There were like two tiny potatoes that were imperceptible. The sauce underneath the chicken was a bit whatever, probably a heavily mayo based sauce which is not my thing. It was pricey at $28 and probably not worth it when you can get a half chicken at most Peruvian chicken places for $15. Call it 3.5 out of 5 stars - I wish they would send stuff out of the kitchen faster. Many tables were sitting around waiting for food, and it wasn't even super packed at 5:30 pm on a Saturday. read more

No exaggeration, Lima Soul Restaurant is one of the best Peruvian spots I've been to--anywhere, not just around DMV, I'd gladly make the drive again from DC to Frederick. The Lomo Fino was incredibly tender and packed with flavor, and the Causa de Cangrejo was rich, fresh, and loaded with real crab. Their signature chicken was just as outstanding. Every side was on point. Even the fries stood out--crisp, light, and not weighed down with grease. We finished with passion fruit dessert, and it was not too sweet, just perfect. You can tell this place takes pride in sourcing quality ingredients and preparing every dish with care. If you're craving authentic Peruvian cuisine, this place is a jackpot. read more

This was a bday dinner for 2, service was very slow, appetizer arrived before cocktails, drinks were good along with appetizers, but it all went downhill after that. I sent my entree Back as it was overcooked and tough for pulpo. The redo was not much better and came out a long time after companion had finished their dinner. Only ate a few bites of new dish and could not continue. Manager was notified and her response was to offer ice cream to compensate when I said I did not want to try another dish. When we first arrived they recognized it was a bday dinner, said they had something special at the end which never happened. I am a very patient and forgiving person but this experience left me with I will never return or recommend to eat here. read more

My husband and I were seated and greeted promptly. The restaurant has a nice vibe, cozy yet spacious. The menu is limited (soft opening), however the food we tried was delicious. Trio ceviche Garden rolls Causa de pollo Appletini - drink Chilcano de Lima - drink Peruvian ice cream (not on the menu but recommended by Daleska). It did not disappoint. It was delicious. The service was excellent- our server Dalesksa was so attentive and knowledgeable. Her recommendations were spot on. The chef came to greet us and thanked us for patronizing his establishment. If you're looking for delicious Peruvian food, give this restaurant a try. We will be back for the grand opening. read more

My new favorite Peruvian spot located in downtown Frederick!!!! Cute lowkey upscale restaurant. The Lasaña de ají de pollo was soooo delicious and creamy oh my goodness you can tell this was made with love . The empanadas hit the spot as an appetizer! The drinks were so good i ended up having 4!!! Leche de tigre was so refreshing with the perfect amount of lime. I need to come back asap to try the crab dip & the causa de pollo. Thanks for the fast service from the bar and the kitchen , the wait time was good and we definitely loved the service 10/10. My husband and I came here to celebrate our anniversary, and from the moment we walked through the doors, we felt genuinely welcomed. The service was exceptional. Our servers were attentive, friendly, and took the time to make us feel right at home. The owner and co-owner also made a point to personally greet their guests and ensure everyone was enjoying their experience, which made the evening feel even more special. To our surprise, the owner has an incredible singing voice and performed two songs during dinner. It was such a unique touch that added to the warm and inviting atmosphere. We started with the ceviche, and it absolutely did not disappoint! My husband ordered the octopus entrée and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the chicken entrée, and it was hands down the best chicken I've ever had at a restaurant. You also have to try the espresso martini and save room for dessert--the lava cake served with traditional Peruvian ice cream was absolutely AMAZING! My Son and I went to try this restaurant last night. I ordered several things off the menu for us to try including the ceviche, empanadas, some cold potato and crab dip dish, the corn queso which was pretty different, and a salad. I wish I would've taken some pictures of the presentation of food, but I didn't because I was trying to be in the moment. Everything was delicious. The few people that we met that work there were from Peru. There was a couple of mixup with the drink and food. Going to wrong tables, but that's why we have a soft opening. It wasn't a big deal. The chef came out and introduced himself and told us that his dad was a chef and his whole family had musical talent and growing up they spent lots of times making beautiful music together as a family. They're in their soft opening now, but will be changing the menu soon. The big unexpected treat was when he got up and sang a couple of songs beautifully. He created a space for all the things that he loves and he's sharing it with Frederick, a town that he says that he loves deeply. A beautiful experience in a beautiful space. I had high hopes for Lima Soul, but the food did not deliver. On the positive side, the service was good. However, the menu is very limited and misses key traditional Peruvian dishes. The ceviche was decent but lacked proper texture and true authentic flavor. It feels like an imitation of Peruvian cuisine. read more

It was just alright. The ceviche was tart and too salty at the same time. It was a bit disappointing that there were no meat options on the menu. At least have Lomo Saltado. One good/interesting dish was one of the sushi rolls topped with ceviche. The other thing is that I wanted a beer. Thought they would have Pilsen, or Cusquena but all they had was a beer on tap from New Zealand. I was wondering if this was actually a Peruvian restaurant. I went a few months ago when they opened up. I'll give it another shot and hope the tweaks in service and the food are corrected. read more

Lima Soul is a welcome addition. My family ate there during their pre-grand opening period, and the staff were very attentive, including visits to our table from the owners, and assembling most of the staff to kindly wish my partner a happy birthday. I appreciated their efforts to innovate Peruvian food, though would recommend they serve somewhat larger portions given their higher prices (e.g., my 4 scallops parmesan at $18 were more akin to tiny bay scallops, the lava chocolate cake was too small, and accompanying ice cream scoop minuscule). The ambiance was pleasant: warm lighting and wall colors, comfortable seating (though where I sat, the floor was uneven, so my chair was unbalanced), and the chef-owners (identical twins!) took turns at singing presumably Peruvian music. read more

First time we been there 4/10/26 and I will say the food and ambience was better than I ever expected. The bartender was one of the best I have ever dealt with. The food was excellent and the Pisco Sour was exceptionally good. Enrique and Gabriel made us feel at home and gave us excellent service. We searched for "best restaurant in Frederick" for a spontaneous early Father's Day and birthday lunch and ended up at Lima Soul. Best choice ever. The food was divine and the serving sizes were perfect. We tried the ceviches, the chicken, and the beef loin and have absolutely no notes for the chef. Just perfect. Then, to top it off, the chef himself came out to sing us a few songs. He has an amazing voice and a winning personality. Our little spontaneous lunch couldn't have been any better! read more

We went there a few weeks back and the experience was fantastic. The dishes were exciting to look at, delicious and the ambiance was great. We met the chefs - twin brothers - and they took the time to discuss the preparation of the dishes and provide some inside thoughts on the flavors. Went tonight with 5 friends. Marcelo our server was very helpful & friendly. The chef came to our table twice to ask how our food was. He also sings! The pico sour was delicious, & oh the food!! I had 2 starters: Causa de Pollo (delicious mashed potato & shredded chicken & sauce) and Chupe de camarones (shrimp) in a delicious sauce. I loved both. Can't wait to come again! read more
