Stopped here on a Saturday night for dinner while in the area. I stumbled upon this place on some online forum etc. and put it on the list. Located in a self sustained housing development with an added park, townhouses, retirement home etc, it almost looks like a small concession stand when driving by. However, inside was very nice and decorated well - bar area, plenty of glass and decoration tile for color, various seating options inside and outside. We were sat at a high top table along the window near the large pizza ovens. We started with the burrata and crab dip to start. The burrata itself was good - but the large tomato wedges is a fetish restaurants do that I just don't understand. It is very hard to eat those and cut them and negotiate all that. The crab dip was solid, I liked the flavor of it and it wasn't a paste as some can be served as. For my entree I went with the chicken parm, substituting gnocchi for spaghetti. It comes with an up charge if you do this but I didn't care. Chicken was kind of thicccer than what I would want- would rather the cutlets be thin and manageable. Sauce was very good and tangy. Dessert was the chocolate lava cake. Standard issue. Would like to come back and try other things on the menu including pizza, but for not - very good.

Rigatoni with ricotta and sausage

The food was very good. We had many entrees to include the Marsala, rigatoni, and the ribeye steak. All were delicious. The salads, appetizers and Desserts were also very good. The food was hot and was presented well. Pastas were homemade and excellent. The service was OK. We did send one dish back because the veal had a strong meaty flavor. They asked to many questions on why was it being returned (waiter twice and the manager once). For a $700 bill just gladly take it back! The ambiance in the restaurant is very nice.

5 Stars - Beautiful Atmosphere, Great Food, and That Shrimp Appetizer! I've been to Ricci three times now, and every visit has been a great experience. The restaurant is beautiful, the ambiance is warm and inviting, and everything from the food to the drinks to the service has been consistently solid. I first took my mom here for a pre-Mother's Day outing--just drinks and appetizers--and she loved it so much that she requested we go back the next time she visited. So we returned for dinner recently, and it did not disappoint! One standout dish I have to mention is one of their newer appetizers--I believe it's called the shrimp gondola. It wasn't available during my first visit, but I had it the second and third time, and wow... it is honestly one of the best things I've tasted all year. It was so good that my mom ended up ordering her own after trying a bite of mine! Whether it's for lunch, dinner, or just a round of drinks and bites, Ricci has quickly become one of my favorite spots. I'll definitely keep coming back.

Amazing Italian restaurant with several areas of seating and a bar right in front of their pizza oven. Everything we had was outstanding. The sauces were flavorful and the pizza was some of the best I've had around Frederick. We asked for prosciutto on our pizza instead of mortadella and they were accommodating. She's a little pricey but everything was fresh and would absolutely pay again in a heartbeat. Our waitress was very friendly and able to recommend several options. Can't wait to go back. The only thing I wasn't impressed by was the tiramisu unfortunately.

We love Ricci!! The best pasta dishes around, and the brunch is excellent, too! We almost always order the calamari and the chicken parmesan. The lox platter is my favorite brunch item - highly recommend! The bread and oil they provide at the start of service is so incredible. I love the outdoor patio on a warm day. Dining indoors is great, too, because they have a bar area, classic dining tables, and a high top counter facing the pizza oven. We will continue to come here!

We found this place by mistake and were not disappointed! The atmosphere is beautiful. There is a full bar and plenty of seating. There is a wood fired grill for pizza and steak! We got the beet salad, which you can choose any protein to put in it, spaghetti and meatballs, and Pollo alla Veleziana. Everything was AMAZING! Taylor was our server and he was attentive, enthusiastic, and provided excellent recommendations!

Salmone Alla Griglia ($35)

We came here to celebrate Valentine's Day on Saturday. We had a reservation for 6:30 but got there a little early but we're still seated immediately. The restaurant was gorgeous and the lighting was great for an intimate setting. They bring you out some complimentary bread to start with olive oil and balsamic vinegar to dip it in, which was very good. For drink, I took our waiters recommendation and got the Figgin Peachy ($14), it had fig vodka and with peach puree and Prosecco, it was good. We love charcuterie, so we got the Tagliere Misto ($27) which was our favorite thing we ate. It had a great variety of meats that went so well with the Parmigiano Reggiano and Manchego cheeses. It also had these super sweet cherries that were delicious! For our entrees, Ryan ordered the Salmone Alla Griglia ($35) and I ordered the Seafood Marebella ($35). I'm not a fan of salmon so I didn't try that but Ryan said it was really good and he loved the sauce. The broccolini that he got with it was garlicky and absolutely delicious. The seafood Marebella that I got had crab, shrimp and scallops. The sauce was creamy and you could tell that the pasta was handmade and the seafood was fresh. For dessert we had to get the Creme Brulee ($12), it was definitely the most creamy Creme Brulee we've had and it wasn't at all grainy which is usually an issue with some that we've had. We would definitely come back to try some different dishes.

We went at 4:30pm on a Sunday night when it wasn't too busy. Our waiter was very nice and came frequently to our table to check on us and asking if we needed anything. You can also make reservations online. Since the restaurant is located in a mountain area, I had no reception or internet. All the dishes we had were pretty good. They start you with warm complementary bread with butter. The filet mignon was our favorite dish with soft meat and mashed potatoes. The sauce was a little sour to complement the meat. The linguini in the seafood linguine was cooked soft so it's good for little kids, but if you would like it more al dente, you'll probably have to let them know. There were 3 mussels, 2 scallops and several shrimp all cooked well. The green beans were cooked so they were still crunchy. Some of mine were a bit too undercooked for me. There as a good amount of meat in the veal and pork bolognese over pappardelle. The noodle were cooked well and long. The Maryland crab soup was part of the daily dinner special. Wish there was more crab in the Maryland crab soup since I saw a lot of vegetables. It was pretty spicy which wasn't noted on the menu. The crème brûlée was cooked very well. Crispy sugar top and creamy inside.

While the garlic sauce was generous and delicious, the quality of the mussels themselves was disappointing. They were all open, but they had that "off" taste associated with older seafood. * The Main: Things turned around completely with the pork tenderloin. It was cooked perfectly and paired with a very flavorful sauce. Highly recommended! * The Dessert: Finished with the coconut cake. It was incredibly moist--perhaps a touch too sweet for my personal preference, but tasty enough that I'd definitely order it again. Overall, a great find with just a minor hiccup on the seafood. We'll be back!

Everyone was friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm. The restaurant itself feels like an old house converted into a cozy dining space, giving it a relaxed, family-dinner vibe that's hard to find these days. The food? Incredible. They had fried calamari on the menu, but we asked if they could grill it instead--and they happily did. It came out perfectly tender and delicious. The linguini with white clam sauce tasted exactly like something an Italian grandma would make--simple, comforting, and deeply authentic. And the Veal Massi with fresh mozzarella? Absolutely out of this world. Rich, flavorful, and unforgettable. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. Highly recommend this gem in Frederick!

We took a table in the rear enclosed patio area near the bar. To start we ordered the meatball sliders. Two come with an order and they were good. I liked the toasted slider rolls, the tangy sauce and the spiciness of the meatball. Recommend cutting it in half to eat it without it flying out of the roll. Overall a good start. I ordered the gnocchi primavera which really wasn't in the traditional sense - as the vegetables were puréed together into an orange sauce. Had a good flavor and was served with burrata. Starters and entrees came out very close to each other which wasn't a bad thing. We also added a margherita pizza to share which looked weird - but tasted great. Nice crisp to the crust and thin. I usually think of a doughier crust with this kind of pizza but still good. Dessert was the fudge cake - rich in flavor, adding a coffee. Overall - would have loved to sit inside and get that experience but still good considering we didn't have a reservation. Our waiter - younger guy out back we good, though at times we leaned on the other bartender to help get refills.

We found this restaurant after using Google Gemini…read moreto find "Authentic German Food" when we arrived in the parking lot, we saw the chefs sitting outside taking a breather next to where we'd parked, but thought nothing of it at first. It was our first year of dating anniversary but we failed to notice when looking the place up that they closed at 7:30pm. We walked in at about 7:40pm and the bartender regretfully informed us that they had just closed. We accepted the situation for the error it was on our part and opted to go elsewhere. So barely 3 minutes after walking up to the entrance, we were heading back to our truck. The chefs were still there and immediately asked us why we weren't staying to eat. When we explained that we hadn't realized they closed at 7:30, they looked at us and said, "Go back in there and tell them we said we're still open for you guys." We were a bit concerned that we'd cause hard feelings and said we could just come back a different day, and they wouldn't have it. "We're the guys who'll be cooking, not them, if we're okay with it, then what have you got to lose?" We looked at each other and thought briefly and headed back up to the entrance. I had mentioned that I had a spur of the moment 'hankerin' for German Food, and he said, "Well, you're at the right place!" Before we got back in the front door, one of the chefs (we learned shortly after were the owners) was already letting the bar staff know to get us seated and taken care of. My girlfriend ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu, and I ordered the Pork Schnitzel. We of course sampled each others' dishes and it was beyond amazing on both entrees. Some of the best schnitzel I've had NOT in Europe, and the mushroom onion gravy was so savory and rich. The Chicken was loaded with flavor and I could definitely see that being on a future order for myself. After we were beyond stuffed, we decided to split a dessert for the occasion and had the Chocolate Mousse Cake. When the bartender learned it was our first anniversary, she made sure to get a candle to put in the cake for us, it was a very nice and welcoming touch. The bar staff was on their game with the service, keeping drinks full and checking on us frequently to make sure we were good to go. There were only two other tables still seated in the restaurant at that point, and they were actually there already eating when we first arrived. They were still there when we departed, so we assumed they may have been family friends or locally important patrons. The ambiance of the restaurant has a very British Pub feel to it, and it is so amazingly cozy and feels like home. We both left with an amazing impression and cannot wait for another chance to try some of the other menu options. I'm very curious to try the Filet Mignon next time, but the Stroganoff looked quite tempting as well. I think we both found a place that we'll absolutely keep on the short list of places to revisit next time we're in town. It was such a memorable experience and we so greatly appreciated the flexibility and hospitality they demonstrated. That type of service is so hard to find these days. Beyond that, I REALLY want to try those Eclairs on a Thursday!

Poseidon was very good with shrimp and crab and served with spicy mayo. For my main entree - I got the pork tonkotsu ramen. The place is not the same, they visited recently this year only because I bought dad a gift certificate. They said their visit was horrible and will never go back. I also bought my husband a gift certificate for Father's Day which we put off going. Today my husband called and made reservations excited about a nice filet as his belated Father's Day meal. I was going to get chicken Chesapeake as I do not eat red meat. We arrive at the restaurant, I am seated as my husband is parking. I immediately noticed the completely wrinkled tablecloth with black permanent marker marks within, for a fancy high dollar well-known restaurant they should iron their table cloths and be sure they are clean. The lights so dim we could not read the menu. We wait about 15 minutes to order a drink as there were only five tables at this point. We review the limited New Years Eve special and learn this was the only menu which has no chicken options for dinner, only red meat options and one fish as I sit there and disappointment at a fancy expensive restaurant now not having an option for dinner. My husband says he should've been told when he called to make reservations that it was a limited menu. We have not eaten there since we got married 28 years ago we looked at the menu online ready to order having no clue it was limited and not serving what we wanted. We order a crab dip as a appetizer, my husband asks for a refill when the appetizer comes out and we place our dinner order. We ask what surf and turf is my husband was thinking it was a steak with a side shrimp as it was explained by the waitress. I had to interrupt and explain it is a pasta dinner with steak on top thank goodness I intervened or he would've been disappointed with his meal. He ordered prime rib. I ended up with a side salad because I do not eat red meat and there was not an entree option for me. Whoever come up with this menu was obviously not thinking many do not eat red meat. Many people look for chicken or chicken tenders which again there was no option. Our appetizer comes out and the crab dip had no "lump" crab meat as advertised. There was lots of red within such as imitation crab meat, possibly claw meat, another disappointment of advertisement, lump crab meat, and there is nothing in there as far as lump crab meat. The crackers that were given with the dip were stale. There was absolutely no crunch to them. We get through our entire appetizer my husband still had no drink. The waitress brings out bread, sets it on the table and says "here is bread and butter" and walks away. I looked at my husband and said bread and what there's no butter. She finally comes back out with my husband drink, and I looked at her and said you mentioned bread and butter. Where's the butter she gave me an odd look and said oh, and walked away. She comes back with the butter at this time, the bread is cold. Butter does not melt well in cold bread. Our meals then come out my husband's prime rib was a little on the cold side, very thin and very fatty. I had a small container of salad dressing, which I had to ask for a second because it was only enough for half of my salad. We were also ordering an orange crush drinks and they were garnishing grapefruits on top instead of oranges.Who puts a grapefruit on a orange crush. Not to mention the male waiter places the customers checks down the back of his pants half down the butt crack then this is placed on one's table who is eating. I really can't see how you are still in business as a higher end fancy restaurant. Never again will we be visiting nor recommend.
