We visited the restaurant on Mother's Day. The staff was friendly, professional, and attentive. We ordered the combo fajita, steak, fajita, steak burritos, a margarita, drop beer. It was so beautiful and the weather was perfect that we sat outside. Recommend this restaurant!

When I moved to Frederick I wanted to try one of their many Mexican restaurants. The service here was pretty good as far as the server goes. He was attentive and checked on us regularly. Now the food is a different story. We went on a Sunday around 12pm and were one of about 5-6 customers in the restaurant. The food took about 30 mins (my order plus my kids ordered basic hard shell tacos) but no worries as I wasn't in a hurry. My food was awful as it had zero seasoning (very very bland) and everything I had was cold in the middle (were these perhaps microwaved as the plate was very hot). The crazy part is we spent well over $75 (also had some interesting Queso as an app that was very watery and lacked flavor). I would not recommend this place if want good food, especially for the price. There are far better options locally. Very disappointed.

Tried this place for the first time today. I ordered the marisco saltado and it was delicious! My husband had the chicken fajitas and that was also tasty though the portion was a bit small. The frozen strawberry margaritas were great. I would definitely come back.

Went out to lunch with my coworkers. The food was very scrumptious. I loved the many vegan options. The service was quick and accommodating. Our waitress was very attentive. The atmosphere was nice, clean, and can accommodate any event. I definitely recommend this place.

Best tasting Mexican food I have experienced in a very long time. The steak in the burrito was cooked perfectly, and tasted great. Every ingredient tasted as it should. The salsa was not as I expected, but it was fantastic - very fresh tasting. If I get a chance - I WILL come back. The waitress was nice - Katarina. The service was quick and friendly.

We stumbled upon this place on the way home from a road trip. Not the best impression from the outside, until you pull in the parking lot and see the outdoor seating which looks rather cozy. We stepped inside to the smell of fajitas and a smoky grill. A very spacious dining space provided seating options for couples, small groups as well as large groups. Our server was friendly. The food took a little longer than I'd like but, you know, the wait will be worth it, right? The food itself was fine. Nothing fancy, not great, and I think I'm being kind here. Rather than pick apart each issue lll just say, it was ok. Prices are definitely high given the mediocrity of the food. I am curious about some of the other dishes, and there were a handful of regulars in attendance which tell me they keep coming back for something. I don't frequent Frederick often, so it's probably a one and done for me

My sister brought me to this place to have dinner. You walk in and the place has linen on the tables - definitely not a normal quick Mexican restaurant vibe. When you walk in - you are quickly introduced to their dessert case - they looked so very delightful. Some members in the party were observing no desserts during Lent - so we didn't get to try any of them - but many looked to be house-made. We were quickly seated and I was pleasantly surprised that the menu had some authentic Spanish and Mexican dishes. There were the traditional - tacos, fajitas, and enchiladas - but we opted for some of the authentic looking dishes - like Masitas De Puerco and the Poc Chuc Yucateco. All very delicious and flavorful. I did notice that they had daily entree specials and my sister had gotten beef tacos for Taco Tuesday. One thing observed - portions were large - enough where i had leftovers the next day. The establishment is very kid friendly - we had 3 kids in tow and each all had their entree pick and drink. Look forward to returning on another visit.

Our server was attentive throughout the meal, and other staff members also checked in regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. We started with the Fried Yuca with mojo sauce, which was cooked very well - crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The accompanying dipping sauce wasn't really to our taste, as it appeared to be oil-based, but that's more of a personal preference than a criticism of the dish itself. For our entrée, we ordered the Seafood Paella with tostones for two. The quality of the seafood was good, and the dish was flavorful overall. My only criticism is that the paella seemed a bit heavy on the rice compared to the amount of seafood and protein. There was certainly plenty of food to share, but I would have preferred a slightly better balance between the rice and seafood. The atmosphere was also enjoyable. We visited around 5 PM and were seated in the front corner of the restaurant by the windows. The ambiance was relaxed and comfortable, while still feeling lively enough to create a nice dining experience. Background Latin music played throughout our meal, which complemented the restaurant's vibe without being overwhelming. Overall, we had a positive experience thanks to the quality of the food, attentive service, and pleasant atmosphere. I'd be happy to return and try more of the menu in the future.

The plantains could have been cooked a little softer for me Gambas al ajillo- Six jumbo shrimp sautéed in olive oil, garlic, white wine, and parsely Deliciously flavorful, however, the salt was heavy handed. Paella valencia- Scallops cooked perfectly, however, I prefer the "coral" of the scallop to be removed as it takes away from the silky texture of the scallop itself. Having said that, it does add flavor to the scallop. It's a texture thing for me. Sometimes it's removed before hitting the US. I had a glass of Albariño. Its citrusy, stone fruit notes, high acidity, and salinity cut through richness, complement seafood flavors, and balance saffron/spice with freshness, making it a classic match for the vibrant, savory dish. Serve it well-chilled to enhance its palate-cleansing effect, creating a refreshing contrast to the hearty rice and ingredients.  Chips were lackluster. Tasted like they were not made in house. Salsa was good though. Portions were good. Ratio of rice to everything else in paella was too much. Rice is cheap. No need to be overwhelming on plate to give the visual experience of being a generous portion, while making a profit. Oh, and I had to ask our server to get another chair because the one I sat in was imbalanced and wobbly, a potential customer disaster. All in all, Cacique's food offerings are very tasty. As an experienced diner, my intention is to provide culinary observations that can help elevate a place of eating, not just for the sake of providing critique.
