I ordered food for pickup over the app. The parking lot is spacious and there is access to the building from West Patrick and from the access road off of Grove Hill Road and McCain Drive. The food was ready when I arrived, the employee was friendly, and the order was accurate and complete with utensils and sauces. I wish I had one of these back home. Basically a holy mixture of chipotle and KFC on steroids. The whole menu looks good and I always intend to try other things...but that Campero bowl always calls my name with a side of plantains. They also have some interesting drink choices I recommend you try, forget your Pepsi or whatever your go-to is this time. The staff does not speak English well, so be prepared to struggle a little bit. They do seem to run out of certain things sometimes. It definitely gives off fast food vibes and I am usually the last one to opt for that, but man is the food good. It makes up for their short-comings for sure. I always forget to snap photos, by the time I remember I'm already done with my plate. This place is an unlikely hero on the outskirts of an already small town/city. To me, this place is just so so. The chicken was juicy and crispy but nothing too hyped like what other people explained to me. A bit off things about my visit; I also had the cole slaw for a side which wasn't that great. It seemed way too sour. I couldn't taste much of the cabbage in there. I felt bad for not eating that as I hate wasting food. They offer tortillas or bread with the meal. I had asked for tortillas but they gave me bread. I aimed to go back and ask them for my tortillas, but they were already backed up, stressed out and busy as heck. So I settled in with my dinner roll. They didn't have any more horchata available!! Which I really love! So I gave the mango juice a go. Wasn't anything like my horchata. But it's better than fountain soda. I'd say I'll give this place another try maybe later on when things start to settle. read more

Have visited new Pollo Campero several times. Food has always been hot and fresh. Staff very friendly and restaurant is kept very clean. Love their Cole slaw, corn salad, and rice sides! They have messed up a couple of our orders, but no big deal read more

So here's the deal. Since my first review the problems that I encountered at first seemed to be better. But with last Saturday's visit all that is mute. I went to the drive-thru at 9:25 pm and tried to order the grilled chicken. I was informed that they once again were out of breast meat and could not fill my order. I can't understand why, when on Saturdays they stay open until 11pm, that they would be out of grilled chicken. Also another interesting thing happened last week. After ordering at the drive-thru and paying, I was asked to pull forward and wait for my order by the side entrance of the restaurant. I found this odd because they were NOT busy and no other cars were behind me were waiting. Plus it was freezing cold out and I could not imagine someone having to bring my order outside in the cold. After waiting for quite sometime I asked the person who brought out my order why I was asked to pull forward, she explained that there was a timer at the drive-thru window and that the time stops when you pull thru (circumventing the thing that ensures a speedy order). So from my experience, the evening crew simply does NOT care about their customers. And shame on that evening manager for allowing this to happen. read more

The food was amazing but their service needs a lot of work! Went in during a lunch break because a coworker wanted to check it out. It's nice on the inside and food was delicious. I ordered a chicken sandwich and a garden salad. Food was brought to our table and it lacked the garden salad. Went back to the counter to point it out, the ladies at the back acted confused and their response was that "you want anything else because l have to make it" I just said give me fries. Place was dead at 1 pm this Wednesday one week before Xmas ... including the drive-thru. The staff was friendly but the music played overhead too loud and, of course, too much yammering in Spanish and other noise floating into the dining area from the kitchen. My grilled chicken sandwich was delicious-moist and flavorful - on a soft if ubiquitous bun. The cole slaw - it had to be exchanged for another side. It had too much sauce (some mayonnaise concoction) and was salty with no cabbage flavor coming through. Given another reviewer complained about it, they should re-think the cole slaw. The mashed potatoes were good, but .. mashed potatoes. It was nice that the sandwich was served on an actual porcelain plate and not paper or styrofoam, and there were real metal utensils to use. However, the forks all had what I believe to he water spots on them. Value for meal not great as a chicken sandwich and side ended up being $7.19 with tax. I could possibly come back but not likely. read more
