I stopped by Beef 'n Buns 'n Paradise today for a late lunch when I was passing through Frederick. It's a charming old-school, retro burger shop. You order inside at the counter and then they call your name on the loud speaker when it's ready for pickup at the drive thru or the counter (depending on whether you ordered it to go or not). I had a cheeseburger with tomato, onion, pickles, ketchup, mustard, and mayo, and a side of fries. The burger was classic and totally delicious. The fries were very good, too. I ate my lunch at one of the picnic tables on the property, which was comfortable and fun (but they don't have bathrooms FYI). The service was friendly, and the place has tons of retro charm. Made a pit stop on the way home from camping and it was worth the small detour! This is not a sit down joint and fyi does not have a bathroom for the public to use. They do have a small parking lot and some benches around back but not ideal for colder weather. The menu is pretty extensive with many options of hot dogs, burgers and dessert. We got the Chicago dog, chili dog, patty melt and onion rings. The onion rings were the best! The breading did not fall off and stayed with each bite of the onion! Not to mention the crunch! The hot dog was also delicious! The way they dressed it was neat and you got a solid bite each time! The patty melt was juicy and the rye pairs so nicely!! The service was quick. You order at the window from a huge menu and wait for your name to be called over the loudspeaker. We tried a few of their hot dogs, the Chicago Dog and the Chili Nacho Cheese Dog and both were awesome. The dogs were snappy, flavorful, and loaded with toppings. We also grabbed the double patty melt, which was superlative. The patties were juicy, the rye bread was perfectly griddled, and the whole thing just hit. The onion rings deserve their own shoutout too, crispy, hand-breaded, and the perfect side item. And of course, we had to finish with dessert. We got vanilla soft serve cones with black cherry flavor burst on one and coffee on the other. Super tasty and the perfect ending. The prices are reasonable for the quality and portion size. It's fun to see my last review was in 2018 and this is the most consistent 5 star review I have to give. It is always 5 stars. It is a Frederick institution. I remember Frenise as the founder (I could be wrong) but I remember him fondly. I have been coming here since I was 15. I am 45 now and that means I have 30 years of good food, service and memories from this place. Today was amazing as well. I introduced my Wife to the place and our dog enjoyed a hot dog. I don't usually like sweet thinks, but I got a strawberry milkshake with my burger and it was amazing as always. They also have outside, dog friendly seating, which was great on this beautiful day. I recently just moved to Frederick and wanted to try a place that wasn't a fast food chain. I found this place on yelp surprisingly. I ordered a cheeseburger and tuna sandwich from here and both were really good and nothing crazy. The menu is large so I will probably try other items. The lady who took my order was very nice and patient with it being my first time there. The building itself has no inside seating. There are benches outside but the day I went was cold so I got my food to go and there is a drive thru so you don't have to leave your car to pickup the food. This place just feels like a family owned local hot spot in Frederick. Unpopular opinion but I actually enjoy the fries more than the burger itself. Not to say the burger is bad it's actually pretty good, but the fries are out of this world in my opinion. They have amazing shakes too. Stop by for a quick lunch. I got a cheeseburger, fries and a diet Coke. Not much service but that is expected from a drive-through and no frill approach restaurant. The fries are rather standard, and I would deduct half a star for the price. But overall I enjoyed my lunch. Burgers are good; made with fresh, local beef served on fresh, soft buns. I ordered the Hawaiian and it came with American cheese, good quality ham on top, and a couple of pineapple rings. It would have been better with provolone or Swiss, but I didn't specify. The pineapple milkshake was delicious and flavorful. I ordered a chocolate malt milkshake and could barely taste any malt, which was disappointing. The shake was very creamy and chocolatey, just not malty. This is the place I go for a REAL dairy milkshake. It's near the fairgrounds. They have a bunch of fun flavors, like butterscotch, creamsicle, key lime, peach and Oreo cookie (and more), and maybe one day I'll try something new but I'm a mocha fan and if I don't get mocha, I get malted mocha which makes it a super thick shake, which is good as long as you're okay with malt flavor. I think everybody should try malted at least once. It's crazy how many ice cream choices are on the menu for such a little place. You could easily miss this place and think that it's an ice cream store, but it's NOT just an ice cream store. They served me one of the best burgers that I've ever had. My husband and I were driving by Frederick, MD and their location and reviews were a big draw. I ordered the Cajun blue and my husband got the rowdy burger platter. Both were delicious. The flavor combinations were very well done. When your order's ready they announce it over their intercom system and bring it to the back of the building where you pick it up. Got some takeout from here the other night and it did not disappoint. Pretty good greasy diner like spot. From ordering at the restaurant to pickup, it took about 15 minutes. We got the pulled pork bbq, cape maye burger, shrimp salad sandwich, chili dog, sweet potato fries, onion rings, chocolate malt, and a coffee and cream soft serve. Lets start with the sides. The onion rings were nice and crispy with a little grease, but it wasn't overwhelming. Definitely some of the better ones that I have had. I would suggest them over the sweet potato fries, which I would have preferred to be a little more crisp. They were a little too greasy for my liking. The chocolate malt was pretty good, but just a little to sweet for my liking. The coffee and cream soft serve had a flavor like I've never tasted before. It was very heavy on the cream with hints of coffee. The pulled pork bbq was very good and I would definitely order it again. I added onions to it and it was a great sandwich, not overly sweet and a good balance of flavor. The kaiser roll held up nicely to the amount of pork on the sandwich, which was almost a half inch. What was also great was that the meat didn't fall out of the sandwich when eating it. For being a bbq sandwich, it wasn't messy at all! The cape maye burger was enough for two people to eat with the burger patty, crab cake, ham, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and tartar sauce. They aren't lying on the menu when they say for hungry people only. Everything just works together in the burger even though it seems like a lot going on. So I decided to bring my toddler her for a burger, for a burger joint I was disappointed that they dont offer kids burgers. So I ended up buying her an adult burger which was just cheese and a burger on a bun. We also got french fries. I got Cajun blue burger and an ice cream cone and all of that came to $32. In my mind, it was a little expensive for a meal between me and my toddler. Fries were pretty great but The onion must've been old because out of all of the condiments on the Cajun blue. Little hole in the wall kinda place that is really just a walkup window. Pretty good food, tbh! Service with a smile...very family-owned business, I'd say. I had a regular cheeseburger and fries with nacho cheese on the side. All of this was great after a long camping weekend. The burger was tender and juicy, even well done. The veggie toppings were fresh and crunchy! From ordering to being called to the window to pickup was about 10 minutes. Not bad. There area bunch of seats outside on the property. It's cozy. In my humble opinion beef and buns has some of the best hamburgers and hotdogs in Frederick. It's a cute local spot. You cannot go wrong with one of their burgers and their chili dogs are 100/10. I have also had an ice cream float from there and I think their soft serve is much better than Rita's. The service is quick and their staff are really nice. A great summer spot to grab dinner and dessert. My only complaint is their hours are so limited! But hey I love that for their staff. read more

Yum! I generally have to be dragged out to eat. If I were local, I'd be huge! We decided on burgers and the usual chains were not appealing so we looked at yelp. This burger stand is the traditional type with take out and outdoor picnic tables. We both ordered burger platters. He always asks for well done fries and is usually very disappointed at what he receives. Not here. Not a single complaint! I opted for onion rings and was shocked at how good they were. They came with a cheese sauce that was spicy and very good. The burgers were cooked to order and the 4oz was more than I could handle even without the bun. I checked out the ice cream and thought I might reward myself after lunch. Unfortunately, there was no room in my belly. We drove to Frederick from Rockville to try BnBnP, after tons of recommendations from my work. Locals were raving about the food and ice cream. How the staff is friendly and how it has been a Frederick staple. We ordered the steak sandwich, ribeye steak and cheese, and the cape May burger. All of which exceeded expectations! The steak and cheese is hands down the best steak and cheese I have had in a long time. It takes me back to the first steak and cheese I ever had growing up as a child. For the steak and cheese- the flavors and proportion of everything is absolutely perfect. The cape May burger is amazing on its own. Coupled with the ham and crab cake give it an extra kick to make it a thought decision as a go to for me between that and the steak and cheese. Finally, the steak sandwich was also phenomenal. The flavor along with the onion ring was just prefect. Cooked to order, this sandwich would hit the spot for anyone in the mood for a good steak sandwich. Now to the ice cream... the southern sundae was on point as well. I'm more of a savory and not sweet person. I usually take a bite and give the rest of my dessert to my kids or buddies. It is never really quite spring or summer until you stop in at Beef N Buns N Paradise. It's like a little bit of Key West in Maryland, minus the six toed cats that run around the Hemingway House and way less Jimmy Buffet music.In fact this place used to be called "Cheeseburgers in Paradise" by the former owners until Jimmy Buffet caught wind of this and took a break from making awful music to sue the establishment. I guess he's not as laid back as everyone thinks he is. Gonna be honest here, the food here is simple. It's a walk up joint with hot dogs, sammies and hamburgers on the menu and lots of picnic tables by the parking lot. The place is decorated like a beach shack and our dog can chill with you on the patio. I am a big fan of the Cape May burger, basically a burger with topped 2 oz Crab Cakes, Ham, Provolone Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion and Tarter. It is a lot of food just in case you're hoping to save room for dessert. A simple hamburger has been pretty good here too. The burger tastes freshly grilled and it is not greasy. I appreciate that. A favorite hot dog of mine is the Hawg Dog - with Pulled Pork BBQ, Sweet Picked Onions, and cole slaw. The fries come out in big bucket size containers just like at the beach, but let me tell you the beer battered onion rings are the way to go. After you order, they call out your name and you collect your food at the side (walk up window). They even put the food neatly in a box to go. If you're dining outside, they'll come by to check on you. The staff is the friendliest ever.Patrons will be feeding your dog their burgers because they are friendly too. Now you'll probably want to get soft serve here to round out your whole meal in paradise experience. They do have soft serve of alternating flavors (love the banana), and a whole menu of over 25 milkshakes and different sundae ideas. So I was in a big hurry, but all the Yelp hype led me to swing by this colourful imaginative place. The decor is 5-star, it's absolutely adorable with a ton of funny signs and hilarious comical elements to it. It looks like something on a Caribbean island, not in a smaller city in rural Maryland. It's easily the highest-rated place on Yelp in MD so I thought, there must be something to it. There isn't. The burger is absolutely awful. The ice cream is so horrendous I threw it out after 2 licks (like a certain ex). The shake was pretty bad. I got Black Raspberry. The coffee cone was pretty bad. Their system of ordering and then picking up at the side window after your name is called is bizarre, and doesn't really work. The woman who served me absolutely hated me. I have no idea why. It was partly because I wasn't familiar with their system. Maybe they don't like tourists? I wonder if it's because I don't look like them? Everyone here was white with big trucks in the parking lot with Trump stickers on them. No idea. The place plays Jamaican music all the time but isn't really anything but a fast food burger and dog shack with iffy products and funny signs. The worst part is the wait time. I waited... I am not kidding... for thirty minutes. I was in a huge hurry, and my food took 25 mins. I was told it was fast food. They told me it would be 10 minutes. I thought that was excessive. It was 25 minutes. There weren't that many people around. I don't get it. I really can't with them. Oh, did I mention their Chili Dog is actually really good, and by itself I'd give it a 4 star at least, and I appreciate the spicy kick. A five star rating from me is rare! I must have driven by this restaurant numerous times thinking it was just an older dive in Frederick MD. Boy, was I ever wrong! Looking at the actual building might scare you off but believe me if you can get yourself past a relatively rough exterior you won't be disappointed. For dinner my gentleman got the crab cake sandwich and the onion rings, he said that the sandwich was tasty and that their onion rings were probably some of the best he had ever had.
