I guess I'm not that surprised, it's in a struggling mall with weak food court. I had work travel and was traveling back through Frederick in June 2023. I decided to stop at Francis Scott Key Mall to look around since I had never been in there. There was a cool rock & crystal store in there. Food court is more of a middle strip with some seats in the walkway. I was weighing my options of eating here or elsewhere in the Frederick area. I decided I was game to try Halal Diversity as they were nice, prices were reasonable, & looked promising. I got a rice, lamb or beef, or side salad. Wow, this was the best Halal restaurant I've had, better than Halal Guys! The sauce was delicious as was everything. If I ever was in Frederick again, I'd try to revisit this place.

Protein over rice, in a wrap, etc. there is plenty of seating in the back with access to two bathrooms. Chicken Platter came with rice with some sauce and a side salad of romaine lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, and maybe a bit of onion. The chicken had a hint of sweetness in it and the marinade was cumin heavy. Delicious with a mild kick. Steak burrito came with lots in it and was devoured quickly. They don't list what else is in the burrito but it was definitely also cheesy. Falafel gyro- with the green, moist falafels came grilled vegetables, mushrooms, on a fluffy pita. Loaded fries: crispy fries with steak, cheese, sour cream, grilled onions and peppers, and jalapeños. There was a bit of sweet sauce on the bottom that reminded me of a Thai chili sauce.

First impression: it's a small space, but really well decorated, spotless, and welcoming. Service was genuinely friendly and warm from the moment we walked in. Now the food... My husband ordered the wide rice noodles with beef (think drunken noodle vibes), and honestly, that dish alone is worth the trip. Perfectly cooked noodles, tons of flavor, and just the right amount of heat. I may or may not have helped myself to more than a few bites while he stepped away... sorry, not sorry. I went with the red curry with coconut and chicken, loaded with fresh vegetables. It was rich, fragrant, and completely slurpable. Exactly what I was craving. The crispy spring roll came out piping hot and perfectly fried, with that satisfying crunch on the outside. Fair warning: the spice here builds. It starts friendly... and then sneaks up on you in the best way Bonus points for the lunch specials, which are very reasonably priced and a great value for the quality and portion size. The sauce had no flavor and there were no scallions in it. The broccoli was cooked well and still firm. The pork dumplings and tempura shrimp were very good. The beef and chicken lo mein were also very good, especially the beef. The dining area was clean, but the tables have that slightly sticky finish. The counter area looks messy and unattractive -- a big downgrade from a few years ago when it looked great. Not sure why they're letting it slide. The rice (which is important to have) was not mushy! They are on our places to go to again. Plus I didn't try their hot and sour soup. On our last visit, a few Sunday nights ago, we popped in at dinner time on impulse and were seated immediately, though it's not a big space and it gets a lot of traffic. We walked through the little bar to the interesting and well-appointed dining room. I ordered a Singha beer and my wife got her standard Thai iced tea, very well made here. We split an appetizer of delicious crispy firecracker shrimp. She got her favorite, Pad Thai with shrimp, and I got mine, creamy green curry with chicken (I chose a 3 out of 4 on spiciness, which was close to my limit!). Both were terrific, As always, the service was efficient and polite. We haven't tried this place for carryout yet, because I think we just like sitting there so much. If you like the unique flavors of Thai food served cheerfully in a pleasant atmosphere, I think you'll like Thai Meric.

In a community with many veterans and military families, that was something I noticed and found disappointing. Many other local businesses make an effort to show appreciation, and that kind of support goes a long way for those who have served and for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. The food was good, but with so many other options in Frederick that offer great food while also making customers and the community feel valued, I don't think I'll be returning. A business's connection to its community matters, and supporting those who have served is something I personally look for when deciding where to spend my money.

I got the Panang Curry with chicken. It came with Jasmine Rice and I ordered a side of the drunken noodles (just the noodles) to add into the curry sauce. This curry sauce was absolutely incredible. I could eat this for every meal. The noodles were made to perfection. 10/10 recommend. The place we lit well, smaller seating for the building. I would definitely recommend a reservation. I went with a group of 5, they took great care of our table! The staff and waitress were top notch, I don't think there was a moment I didn't have my cup filled with water!

Ordered the crispy chive cakes - very crispy outside and chewy inside. The kapow was also quite tasty. Very flavorful but a little on the salty side, which the steamed rice comes into play. The Thai tea was top notch; a refreshing blend of slightly bitter tea and creaminess, without being overly sweet. I'd come back if I'm in the area. It's not big or fancy inside - I think there are 5 or 6 tables, but we timed it right. We were quickly seated and waited on by a cheerful young lady. My wife had a very good Thai iced tea, We split a fine little order of savory chicken satay to start. She got her go-to Pad Thai with shrimp, and I tried a lunch combo with three things I've never had: a little papaya salad, terrific spicy drunken noodles with chicken, and a delightful mango sticky rice dessert. She judged her Pad Thai to be as good as she's ever had, and she's tried many. I thought the satay was a bit dry. The papaya salad was refreshing and interesting, the drunken noodles were firey and memorable, and I may have discovered a new favorite with the mango sticky rice. Everything came out quickly, and the server handled the rapidly filling dining area well. We'll be back for more!
