My husband ordered the wide rice noodles with beef (think drunken noodle vibes), and honestly, that dish alone is worth the trip. I am being generous with 2 stars here. The first hint should've been a completely empty restaurant during peak dinner hours. The next hint was the Christmas decoration including a Christmas tree which is still inside the restaurant! Now the main part - the food has good spice but lacks any other flavor. The chicken was dry and dumplings had a strange taste as if the filling was in the early state of rot. The portions are small and the silly bell pepper decor on every plate is both a waste of food and a waste of space. We had the pad Thai, crab fried rice, drunken noodles, and the nam sai chicken noodle soup... the food was excellent. The kids loved it and if we weren't so far away (over an hour) we'd be back more often. The owner is very kind. She also grows her own Thai chili and makes it into a spicy sauce for the table. I had a wonderful dinner this evening at My Thai. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I'm a vegetarian and they told me that they will work with anyone who has dietary requests. I really appreciate that. They made the summer roll without the Shrimp for me. I also had the Massaman tofu as my entree. They added extra potatoes because I said that I like them. My dinner companion had the duck appetizer and one of the evenings specials, Shrimp in a Clay pot. I also had a Thai coffee that was wonderfully sweet. New grand re-opening after months of reconstruction. Owner and mom was very nice people! Thai tea was delicious. Spicy mango tilapia was well made. Felt homemade! I asked for mild and it was perfect! (American mild too!) As for chive dumplings it was unexpected. First it didn't look like the normal dumplings shape when your order dumplings. Secondly, I didn't like it too much because inside the dough texture felt like it wasn't cooked. Thirdly, the outside of the so called dumpling was very crispy and I liked it. So the first time I ordered from here, I got the vegetable spring rolls & the crispy chicken basil (it comes with white rice). I ordered via DoorDash and the driver was over an hour late, blaming the restaurant's tardiness. My "crispy chicken" was soggy and rolls, mediocre in taste. I took another chance and ordered again but this time via GrubHub. I ordered the Pad Ka-Prao (vegetarian option is both tofu and vegetables). The food came right on time this time around and was absolutely delicious! It was easily one of the best vegetarian dishes I'd ever eaten. The tofu was deliciously seasoned, the vegetables were crunchy and juicy and the sauce wasn't too sweet or too salty and didn't make me feel like I was eating 3000 calories of unhealthy garbage. I would definitely order again and try more dishes. The pricing isn't terrible, but it isn't great either. Give My Thai a try but be aware...DO NOT order via DoorDash. read more

While visiting my from California I had a craving for Thai food and she advised me that no one delivered food to LAKE LINGANORE, lol.... so I ventured to Yelp and found My Thai Restaurant. I ordered the shrimp garden rolls, shrimp wonton soup, veggie spring rolls, Pad ka-Prao with chicken, and Ka Prao fried rice with shrimp. The quality was great and did not disappoint. Especially the Ka Prao fried rice. My family loved it! Kudos to My Thai restaurant for delivering promptly (before the delivery time given on Grubhub)and being mindful of this new normal with how Takeout orders are handled due to Covid-19 by texting that they were at the door and leaving the order there. I will definitely share with my sister who is a resident here in Lake Linganore to share on the community board this little Thai Gem spot! read more

For a small Thai place, it doesn't get better than this! We ordered dinner from them tonight and only had one issue - our drunken noodles that we had ordered with chicken and shrimp didn't have a single shrimp in them even though we got charged for that. Which technically isn't a big deal, but when you're paying for shrimp in your noodles, you expect to have some shrimp in there. The garden rolls were super fresh and the dipping sauces were perfectly balanced. The eggplant in basil with chicken was the best I've ever had. The eggplant was perfectly tender and the sauce was so flavorful! The chicken was cooked well and was the perfect size. This brings me to the drunken noodles. Overall - flavor wise they were good and had a good noodle to vegetable and meat ratio (see picture). However the missing shrimp is something I can't overlook, it's a bit frustrating that we were looking forward to having some shrimp in our noodles tonight but weren't able to enjoy that. I LOVE Thai food and among my favorite dishes is Pad See Ew with beef/steak. I was excited to find this place since it looked like it wasn't commercial and I thought I could get some flavorful, authentic Thai cuisine. I ordered this as my first meal from My Thai, along with the Peking duck roll. The Pad See EW tasted nothing like I was used to; it wasn't flavorful, the broccoli was still partially cold, and the beef was chewy and even turned slimy when I tried to improve it by added more of the sauce that was provided. After a few bites, I threw the concoction into my own wok to finish cooking the beef and added the seasoning it was missing. The Peking duck roll was good. Not worth $8;especially since it's only the one. So basically, I spent $25 just to cook my own meal. read more

My wife chose My Thai for her birthday dinner, so my daughter met us here for a quiet dinner. I had made a reservation and so our table was set and ready in this simply appointed COVID sensitive food haven. We ordered the Sampler appetizer, each delicacy complemented with a perfectly matched dipping sauce. Savoring this dish signaled the amazing meal to follow. I had the Kua Gai lunch special, and was so enjoying it that I paid no attention to what tofu/curry bowls they ordered nor did I want a bite! Sharing is a tradition when we go out to good restaurants :-) I was in epicurean heaven. Service was thoughtful, gentle and attentive without a hint of intrusion. We ordered Tom Kha soup, spring rolls, summer garden rolls, Drunken noodles, red curry and vegetarian fried rice. All tastes good and made fresh. One suggestion could be that the sauces that accompany the rolls needs improvement in taste. It tastes almost like store bought. Would go to this place again and I recommend it. When you can't have alcohol at work, drunken noodles are about the closest you'll legally get away with for lunch. And My Thai's drunken noodles are pretty decent. I tried calling several times between 11-11:30am on a Friday but no answer - were they too busy? Did I have the right number? Were they closed down? Is it a holiday? The answer is no to any of the above, because they eventually picked up my 5th call at 11:41am (which would have been my last try). The carryout process had no surprises and there were plenty of empty tables so not really sure why they didn't pick up the calls earlier. Anyway the lunch portion of drunken noodles is about what you expect when you pay less than $10. I like that they put a paper sheet underneath the container given drunken noodles typically have sauce overflow, so you don't make a mess. The chicken was fine, not super tender nor super dry. And the noodles were cut appropriately so you can pick them up easily with chopsticks or fork. Another trait I like - they clearly marked on the container that it's not spicy (see pic), so there'd be no mix-up. I'll try them again in the near future and see if their fried rice dishes are any good. Will definitely report back...as long as they pick up the phone during business hours. read more

I thoroughly enjoyed my food here. This was the second time I had gone - both times for lunch. They know how to make it spicy (just like I like it). The first time I went, I got the Green Curry Fried Rice. It was a fairly large plate of food and perhaps I could have done with a little less rice. That being said - there was still plenty of vegetables and chicken and the food flavorful. The second time I came: Yellow Curry. I love yellow curry and I really wanted to lick the plate (but there were way too many people around). I ordered it with beef, and it came with a side salad and a small bowl or rice (perfect amount of food!) Each time, I've left full, but not stuffed so I consider this a really solid lunch place. Have been to My Thai several times for lunch and finally decided to write a review. If you are interested in "American" Thai cuisine, My Thai will not exceed your expectations. It has the same core compliment of dishes that you will find in countless other Thai restaurants in America. The prices are maybe 2-3 dollars more than the same dishes in other parts of America. My favorite place in the world for panang curry is at Bangkok Cuisine in San Antonio of all places, and it is a few dollars cheaper in San Antonio than at My Thai in Frederick, Maryland. Portions size at My Thai are average, not large or small. The knife skills of the chef or prep chef could be improved. Too many large size pieces of kaffir lime leaf in the curry can make chewing those foreign bodies problematic. But the fact they included kaffir lime leaf is a bonus I suppose. Overall, this is not a bad representation of American Thai cuisine. If you order an appetizer and a dish NOT on the limited lunch menu, expect to pay 20 bucks for lunch. . read more

Me and my sis went here on Tuesday you know this is my fav Thai place. But it's really falling off. They never have Japanese Plum wine please take it off the menu than. We had a glass of something it was happy hour so it was $4 a glass. Appetizers were $4 we got the curry puffs the were delicious. You only get two for $4 and they cut them in half. We sat by the window and nets were flying all around us the whole time I was super irritated. The waiter was decent. I really wish they hire some waiters with big personalities or at least personable. I'm going to start looking for a new Thai spot please let me know if anyone knows a good one in Frederick MD. I was surprised to find this little gem. They weren't very busy, but I was puzzled based on their food. Food itself was pretty delicious but it is kinda middle of nowhere and I suspect they don't get a lot of foot traffic. But if you are in the area, I wouldn't shy away from it.
