Total hole in the wall/hidden gem. I called in an order at 7:30 on a Thursday, and it was ready in about 10 minutes. We ordered the hot and sour soup, kung pao shrimp, and beef + broccoli. Everything was hot and delicious. The vegetables were especially fresh! Also they gave a generous amount of large, juicy shrimp. Normally places skimp on the shrimp, but not here. Came to ~$30 for two large entrees + a large soup. We will be back!

Chicken and Broccoli! Broccoli tasted FRESH! Was good.

Convenient little Chinese place along east street! They've been quick on the orders and haven't messed them up. Staffs fast and friendly. The food is good. I took a couple photos of what I got this round! I think the crispy beef maybe is a little too sweet/runny, and needs more crispy-ness to it. It was OK! Simply Asia in Thurmont makes it better in my opinion! Would love it if they could make it like Simply Asia in Thurmont (HINT HINT). :-) The Broccoli and Chicken was pretty good, and I love that the Broccoli taste FRESH. I was hoping to get it in the white sauce, but it came with brown, which tasted good.

I just moved to Frederick and this is our new Chinese food spot. Food is so good that it reminds me of the Chinese food from north jersey!

Got the homemade dumplings and thai green curry chicken. They were both so good and fresh.

A bit noisy for me to hear a conversation easily. The food was excellent. I tried the seafood jambalaya with had fish, scallops shrimp and spicy sausage with Cajun seasoning over brown rice. The fish was flaky and scallops and shrimp were sweet and perfectly cooked. I appreciated that the server made sure I understood that it was going to be spicy which it was but not unbearably so (I like mildly spicy to medium spicy). I loved the spinach crab dip appetizer. It was creamy and hot and delicious. The hushpuppies, of you are a hushpuppy fan were a must order. The arrived hot and very crisp coating with a moist interior. They come with a honey butter which really put them over the top. My spice got the grilled shrimp with shoestring potatoes. The shrimp were grilled perfectly with just the right amount of seasoning. Reservations are recommended for peak service times. There plenty of parking in the back if the lot in front is full.

She's been behind the bar for three weeks and is obviously an asset not just for her hustle but for maintaining a positive attitude during a rush that the restaurant is still training to cope with. Kudos girl The fried fish was terrific although the fries needed more time in the fryer. The sweet potato fries were excellent. The Cole slaw was delicious I even liked the tartar sauce. I had a seltzer from RAK honey lavender quite tasty. The new management is trying to offer the local products and it's the right direction. I believe this place has lots of potential and I look forward to my next visit when I hope to give more stars.

The main dining room is absolutely gorgeous with the stonework and architecture. The bar area was very busy as we were on the tail end of their happy hour. Our server walked us through the menu. We started with the ravioli appetizer. It had shaved truffles on top and egg yolk covered in Parmesan cheese. They almost had a little crunch to them and the inside was filled with ricotta cheese. The sides are à la carte as is most of the menu. I ordered the tavern burger. It came with beef fat glaze among other spreads and was very well seasoned. The side of beef fat fries were also well seasoned and crispy. The best dish was the pot roast. It was so tender and the gravy was so flavorful. This paired perfect with their creamy mashed potatoes. The service was decent but the food and atmosphere was absolutely amazing. They have a huge variety of cocktails and wine. It's a bit more formal Dining. It doesn't require a jacket or anything.

We received fantastic service from start to finish, from being seated right at our reservation time to our server answering our dietary needs questions to our dishes coming out in a timely and well-paced manner. Wye Oak's ambiance being set in a former church/religious institution is unique, providing an interesting ambiance. However, the food left much to be desired. While the presentation on every dish ranged from good to amazing, out of the seven dishes we shared only 1.5 of them were delicious. Some of the dishes were bland and one note; others were overcooked or overseasoned. We shared the following dishes: Coddies: While the cod was perfectly cooked and breaded, it had no flavor. The cauliflower tartar sauce added nothing to the dish; the cauliflower giardiniera at least added some nice crunch and acid. Savory Parmesan Cheesecake: The cheesecake had no flavor; the acid and freshness of the cherry tomatoes of the arugula pesto could not elevate or salvage this dish. Cheese Ravioli: By far the best dish of the evening. The ravioli tasted fresh, were nicely cooked, and the cheeses and sauce were delicious. Smoked Beet Pastrami: The beets were well-cooked and fantastically seasoned, complemented perfectly by the dressing. However, there needed to be more beets and a better beet-to-funnel cake ratio; while the funnel cake added some nice crunch, there was way too much of it and did not do much for the dish. Brussels Sprouts: Well-seasoned, although very greasy and overcooked. Broccoli di Ciccio: Perfectly cooked, but very salty. It did have good heat. House Rolls with butter: Warm and fine, but nothing distinct. I would try elsewhere if you are looking to dine out in Frederick, especially given Wye Oak Tavern's prices.

The building is large with plenty of parking. It has a medieval-vibe from the outside, although there's a plaque inside the front door saying the building was built in 2000. Once inside, it's fairly dark and continues with the old-mansion type atmosphere. There are lots of items hanging from the walls, older portrait photos, chandeliers, etc. very cool space. We were told at the front desk to go upstairs for the brunch (there is an elevator!). Once upstairs, we were greeted and sat in a corner table for two. The placement of the table was perfect, as there were a lot of families there for brunch, and I felt like we were being given an opportunity for more quiet. I noticed that the layout of the room placed tables for two and other smaller tables toward the outside. The server greeted us warmly and explained where things were and invited us to get started. The food: outstanding. The crab dip was thick from cheese and full of crab. The Maryland crab soup (didn't try the cream one) was full of crab and veggies, and the broth was flavorful. The salad was fresh, the chicken and salmon were both well prepared and delicious and the crab omelette was full from crab. There's also the traditional breads, eggs, potatoes, bacon and sausage. They all looked good, but I didn't take them seriously with all the other foods there. I went to get prime rib snd was given a huge piece freshly sliced. Outstanding. The outside was seasoned perfectly and the inside was moist and flavorful. You can get creamy horseradish, horseradish alone and au jus, which you serve yourself. The desserts included some pies (including key lime), cooked apples, brownies and there's fresh fruit at the salad bar. Service: Outstanding. Our server kept our water glasses, iced tea snd coffee filled and took our plates promptly. Bloody Mary - was $1 and I think it's a darn good Bloody Mary. Not fancy, but tasty. We came here looking for a new place to go for buffet brunch. We live over a half hour away, but do plan to come back for other occasions. It's a nice atmosphere with a very classy vibe, but good for families. Everybody seemed to be having a good time and enjoying themselves. And the service was excellent. The brunch ain't cheap (it's $46.95 per person), but there's outstanding prime rib, a real crab dip and two types of legit crab soups, along with other entrees (the salmon was so soft and flavorful - I was jealous because I can never get mine with such great texture), as well as traditional breakfast fare and a salad bar. Worth a visit. The restaurant's regular menu looks pricy, and some of the items on the regular menu are available on the buffet (prime rib, crab dip, crab soups, the chicken and the salmon).

It feels more like eating in a cafeteria than a seafood restaurant. If you're just after a straightforward meal and don't care about the vibe, it's fine, but for the price, I always expect a bit more character. You're forced to listen to the people talking next to you, hammers cracking, forks & knives clanking and cars driving by. Priced way too high for what it is. Crabs were decent not completely seasoned well. I'm baised as I'm an Old Bay die hard and would never put Jo's on crabs but that's just me. 3 stars if it were priced more appropriate, 4 if they're playing some music (crab house fun), if you combine atmosphere, priced more appropriate, and switch to Old Bay we're looking at 5 's. Fries, hush puppies, and coleslaw are excellent, did not try the soup. It's worth noting that I'm from Anne Arundel Co. Grew up going to crab houses my whole life in and around Annapolis. Many places mirror that vibe, Liberty Road just can't seem to get that part down or simply care not to, and that's fine. For me though it's an interval part of the crab house experience.
