First time dinning. Great experience, wonderful staff, and food came out hot and fresh!

Surprisingly better than expected. The outside building does not do it justice. The food was amazing. Service was fast and kind. We had oysters, fish and chips and a shrimp po boy and loved it all. What a great little find! Looks like they were known for all you can eat seafood boil but we were on the road and didn't have the time or stomachs

I really wanted to like this place but the food was disappointing. I had a crabcake since we're visiting Maryland. The crabcake was mushy and lacked flavor. We were a large party and the consensus for all the dishes was edible, but not good.

Had a great time, my mom will not stop talking about how good the creamy crab soup is so I had to go myself. It was pretty good. I got the soup, crabs and raw oysters. Service was good, friendly quick. It's a nice classic seafood place inside, like the brown paper on the table so you can crack crabs. I maybe liked the oysters the best, I always love crabs though. Good place if you want to experience classic Maryland crabs.

I love Mays- it is probably my favorite seafood joint in Frederick and so we tend to go pretty regularly (at least once a month or so). Staff is always very knowledgeable about the menu and helpful with recommendations. Food is always delicious- we have tried to make our way through the menu and still working on it. Recommend: steamed royal red, oysters raw or fried, seafood sample, and seafood feast Must try: Lava cake!!! No matter what you order it's going to be great! It's a very relaxed ambiance, can be noisy outside sometimes but everyone is just having fun and enjoying the food!

Looks good outside, very inviting decor & smells so good. Greeted upon entering. appears well organized and tidy Option to be seated inside or out...we choose outside. Covered, well ventilated huge fans on either side and comfortable. Our server was Dougie & he was very good and attentive! Thank you!! The food...it was ok. Seasoning is your friend especially with seafood The bang bang shrimp looked delicious, but the were over cooked, the seafood sampler was a good option to try several items: fried shrimp 9, baked loaded potato 9, crab balls ‍ I would give them a 3, steamed shrimp 7, the fish and chips, good size but not seasoned, hush puppies ok. The foods presentation is good, but we found the food did not live up to the photos. Sorry not a fan favorite for us

OK, I did not order the burger and fries, but my boyfriend did, and I ate half the fries on his plate, they were that good! Great, friendly, with generous pours for wine, and just a really friendly, great place with perfect food for a winter day. I wish I could find a place like this in Washington, DC.

There's a lot of potential here, but when your wagyu burger costs more than Le Diplomate's iconic burger in DC, I'm expecting something amazing. Every ingredient was very seasoned on its own, but when combined, the burger was overwhelmingly salty. I could barely taste anything besides salt. The cocktails were also overly sweet, and I regrettably had to send them back a couple of times. That said, our waiter's service was excellent. But this place needs a lot of improvement. Way too salty, too greasy, and overpriced.

Made a reservation not like you really need one, but we made one and was seated down pretty quickly. The host was nice and friendly and the wait staff said hello to us within the five minutes of us seating. I appreciated how family-friendly this place was, they give these cute little animal boxes with different things inside and crayons to keep the kids entertained. The decoration is fun with a lot of outdoor vibes and stuffed real animals. They bring out a side of chip and a yogurt dill dip that's interesting, a fun idea. The food, mhm so we ordered a lot! Crab dip: 2.5/5 not too bad but not memorable, okay amount of crab, flavors were too heavy on the cream cheese/fillers but just okay, they need more bread with it but the chips helped. Prob wouldn't order again Crab cake: 3.8/5 pretty good size and good amount of crab and good flavor probably the best dish that we had ordered here! Would get again. Burger: 3/5 granted I did order this medium well for my kid, but the burger was charred a little too much around the burger, giving it a sort of dry crunch on the edges and charcoal burn vibes. Not my favorite texture that I would want on a burger, but perhaps it would've been different if I ordered a medium? Bread itself was a little stale/crunchy which I did not prefer how it was cooked/prepared. Overall, it was just okay. Ribs: 2.5/5 the ribs were half off ribs so I decided to go for it because of the good deal. But it was just okay, being that Blackhog barbecue is right next-door (thier dry rub ribs are amazing), I would hope that they would step up their barbecue rib game. For a " full rack" there were only nine bones and seemed a little smaller than what I'm used to. It's very heavy on the sauce which I didn't think was the best pairing and wasn't the best flavor bbq sauce. Overall, I wouldn't order it again. Steak kabob: 3.2/5 this was actually pretty tender for the cut of meat, I'm surprised that I didn't have to work for it so I was happy about that! The only criticism that we have is that the meat itself did not have that much flavor or seasoning and there's only one skewer of meat and one skewer of veggies. Meaning the total amount of meat that was probably on that dish was no more than 4 -5 ounces of steak. And for that price point, I would want a little bit more meat. Mac and Cheese: 3.5/5 pretty good for a kids Mac! Good cheese and flavor was impressed! Overall, the service and the host in the experience of being there was pretty good, but the food was a little lacking not sure if I would go again, but it was on our right experience in terms of food

I had driven two hours and was hungry, but I was also committed to making good decisions. Or at least mostly good decisions... The hostess offered me a seat at the second-floor bar rather than the quoted 25-30 minute wait. Great! Solo diners love surprise upgrades. Unfortunately, when I got upstairs, the one "available" seat had apparently been claimed by a diaper bag and a giant straw sunhat belonging to the woman sitting next to it holding a too-little-to-walk baby sitting at the bar. Uhhh...this isn't going to work. Back downstairs I went. I gave them my name and number, found a shady spot outside, and settled in for what I assumed would be a long wait. Five minutes later, my table was ready. Thank you, Universe! My server greeted me with water immediately, explained the QR code menu situation, and told me not to order through the app because she'd be right back. No worries, friend. I'd already done my homework. I knew exactly what I wanted. One Martha Stewart's Prison Pizza ($22), please. (Sausage, broccoli, ricotta, Calabrian chili peppers, lemon oil, and sea salt.) I asked for the chili peppers on the side because I know myself. I like adventure. I don't enjoy possibly setting my mouth on fire. And a Diet Pepsi ($3.50), because balance. While I waited, I people-watched, which is one of my favorite hobbies. White Rabbit was PACKED. The patio was full. The downstairs bar was full. Upstairs was full. Couples, groups of girlfriends, older folks, younger folks, families, solo diners...everyone seemed happy to be there. The place itself is pretty small, which explains the wait. Six tables downstairs, maybe eight bar seats, more seating upstairs, and a constant dance of servers carrying food through the same front door customers use. Add the "please wait to be seated" crowd gathering in the narrow hallway and I'd describe things as organized chaos. But once I was seated, I was perfectly comfortable and out of the traffic pattern. One cool touch I noticed: outlets and USB ports built right into the front of the bar. Maybe that's common and I've somehow missed it all these years, but I thought it was pretty neat. Then my pizza arrived. Oh good lawd. OH. GOOD. LAWD. This pizza was SO GOOD! I knew from the first bite that I was in trouble. There was no sauce, which surprised me at first, but after approximately three seconds I no longer cared. The sausage was plentiful. The broccoli added texture. The ricotta was creamy and rich. And that lemon oil?! That lemon oil set it off! Everything just worked together perfectly. The Calabrian peppers arrived on the side exactly as requested. I bravely sampled a very small amount on my fork before desecrating my pizza and quickly determined that folks with stronger heat tolerance than me will absolutely love them. They were just a little too spicy for my delicate tastebuds. Thankfully, the pizza was incredible without them. And those slices? MONSTERS. I ate one and seriously contemplated a second before reminding myself that I had dessert plans elsewhere. A box was requested. Self-control was exercised. Barely. As a solo diner, I also want to give White Rabbit extra points. Multiple staff members checked on me throughout the meal. I never felt forgotten, rushed, or weird sitting by myself. Everyone was warm, kind, and made me feel completely comfortable. I really appreciated that. My total bill came to $32.44 including tip which felt really reasonable given the amount of pizza I consumed and brought home. Worth every penny. I'm already scheming my next two-hour drive back. Maybe a smashburger. Maybe those Brussels sprouts everyone keeps raving about. Maybe another pizza. Maybe all of it! I highly recommend checking out White Rabbit. Make it a destination, not just a stop while you're in the area. Don't let the size of the place or the wait scare you off. It's totally worth it. PRO TIP: If you park in the Church Street Parking Garage, look for the staircase labeled "STAIR 3." White Rabbit is literally right outside the door at the bottom. No hide-and-seek required!

The issue I had was that the restaurant sat guests in an second-floor event space. That wouldn't be an issue if you didn't have to walk up and down a few flights of stairs with your food. Yes, there was an elevator, but like I said earlier, the number of people made you feel like you were in the way while waiting for it to descend. I thought it was odd that people were seated so far away from the buffet and other guests in the restaurant, especially for the elderly guests. It was raining pretty hard that day, so I'm sure Brewer Alley's plans of seating guests outside was ruined, and that's certainly not their fault. My family and I have been loyal customers for approximately six years. We typically dine at Oscar's…read moreonce a week, usually on Wednesday or Thursday evenings. We began by ordering the nacho appetizer with extra queso. When it arrived, there was very little queso, a very small amount of sour cream, and what appeared to be two half-eaten French fries mixed in with the nachos. We politely asked our waitress about the fries. She explained that the chips are prepared near the fries and offered to replace the appetizer. We told her it wasn't necessary and simply asked if she could bring additional queso and sour cream. It truly wasn't a big deal. For our meals, we ordered three Burger of the Week specials and one kids' chicken tender meal. The waitress specifically asked if we wanted fries with the tenders, and we replied yes. When the food arrived, the tender meal was not what we normally receive. Instead of the standard kids' meal, it came with approximately six large tenders and a large serving of carrots, with no fries. Since this was different from what we had ordered before and from what the waitress had described, we simply asked her about it. No one at our table was upset, raising their voice, or asking to speak with a manager. Without warning, a manager named Brian stormed over to our table, speaking loudly enough that nearby guests stopped and stared. His tone was confrontational from the moment he arrived. He stated that adults could not order the kids' chicken tenders because they were only for children 10 and under. This interaction was completely unnecessary. We had only asked the waitress a simple question about our order. There was no complaint or confrontation until Brian inserted himself into the situation. Over the years, we have overlooked numerous issues because we genuinely enjoyed Oscar's and appreciated the staff. We have experienced hair in our food on two separate occasions and have had meals that were not prepared well, but we understood that mistakes happen. We never became angry or demanded compensation because we were always treated with kindness and professionalism. Unfortunately, that changed tonight. Brian's behavior throughout the interaction was dismissive, argumentative, and rude. When he asked if we wanted a side of fries instead, we said yes. As he walked away, he turned back and gave me a look of complete disgust. When he returned with the fries, he stated, "I will not charge you THIS TIME," in a sarcastic and condescending manner. I explained that his behavior was unprofessional and pointed out that we had remained calm and respectful throughout the entire interaction. I also explained that we have been loyal customers for years and have ordered the kids' tenders many times in the past without issue. It appeared this was either a newly enforced rule or an attempt to shift attention away from the incorrect order. Brian eventually apologized to my son's girlfriend for his behavior, but by then the damage had already been done. Although I was extremely upset, everyone at our table continued to remain calm and respectful. Later, our waitress quietly explained that she had only been working there for one week and that she had accidentally entered the order incorrectly. We reassured her that mistakes happen and told her she had nothing to apologize for. We also expressed that the situation became unacceptable only because of how Brian handled it. We genuinely wished her well because we felt terrible that she had to experience that interaction. To make matters worse, when we attempted to use our $10 coupon, Brian refused to honor it. We were told the Burger of the Week was already discounted and therefore the coupon could not be applied. However, there was nothing that indicated the Burger of the Week was considered a discounted promotional item or that coupons were excluded. After everything that had occurred, denying the coupon only reinforced the impression that Brian was more interested in exerting authority than resolving the situation. Despite multiple mistakes made by the restaurant, nothing was done to make the situation right. We paid our bill in full and left feeling embarrassed and disrespected. I also felt sorry for the new waitress, whose tip likely suffered because of a situation that was completely beyond her control. After six years of loyal patronage and a 30-minute drive each way to dine at Oscar's, I never expected our relationship with the restaurant to end like this. It only takes one poor experience to lose loyal customers, and unfortunately, this visit accomplished that. I hope management takes this complaint seriously, not only for the sake of future guests but also for the employees who deserve supportive leadership. Our issue was never with the waitress or even with an incorrect order. It was entirely with the manager's unprofessional behavior and his complete failure to de-escalate what should have been a simple misunderstanding.
