If the food was a notch better: I'd come more than once a year. I find Mays, Liberty Seafood and Avery's roughly the same, with Mays having the edge over the others (quieter too). For just crabs: order takeaway from Westpointe. For bulking up on food: Avery's. I actually enjoy eating at Avery's -- but it could be so much better if they improved the sides and service. However, when the second steak came out it appeared grey on the inside and had a very unusual texture. It was grainy and fell apart very easily, almost as if it could be cut with a fork. The texture and color were concerning and made the steak difficult to enjoy. Unfortunately, after eating some of it I began feeling sick and ended up having to leave early. I'm not sure if the issue was with the quality or freshness of the meat, but it was a very disappointing experience. I do want to note that the seafood my family ordered was actually very good and everyone else enjoyed their meals. I would rate the seafood around an 8/10. That said, I hope the restaurant looks into the quality of the red meat being served so others don't have a similar experience.

It's rare to get great customer service along with great cooking nowadays. Especially in the Frederick area, but that's a matter of opinion. I sat outside. We started with the fried calamari as an appetizer. The calamari had a delicious crunchy coating and was not chewy. For pur main dishes, my wife had the pecan and coconut crusted flounder and I had the seafood jambalaya. Both dishes were excellent with generous portions. Neither of the dishes were overcooked, with the flounder was light and prepared perfectly. Prices were reasonable and worth every penny, especially with how generous the portions were. We will definitely be going back to try other dishes and recommend giving this restaurant a try.
