Everyone was extremely friendly here. The decor is cool, lots of art and it definitely gave me a summer vibe. To start out , we were recommended the crab dip (not pictured). It was about a soup cup worth of dip and it was just ok. Came with a burnt pretzel bun that was very small. The entrees were so much better. The salmon and shrimp with a creamy cajun sauce was delicious. Salmon was crispy, shrimp was cooked perfectly and I loved the grilled broccolini. The steak was so tender and juicy , again over delicious mashed potatoes. I also got the coconut refresher which was sooo good. Popped in to surf house last week to meet up with some girlfriends. I haven't been here in about 3-years! Our waitress was absolutely wonderful! Friendly, prompt, kept us fed and watered . Love how this place is decorated and it has a nice flow with the table set up. For a seafood centric place it smells so clean, which is difficult to do. I ordered the fried oyster tacos, which knocked my socks off! Oysters were so fresh and cooked to perfection. Still plump and juicy on the inside, hot and crunchy on the outside! Great job to the chef! Loved the radish on top. I probably would have used fresh white corn tortillas but the flour was good, so no complaints here! My wife and I had lunch here last Saturday for the first time. The restaurant is clean, neat, and appropriately decorated in an ocean/seafood theme. My wife chose the fish and chips basket lunch and I had the fried shrimp basket lunch. The fried shrimp were cooked very well, crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside, but there were only six of them. For the price of this entrée item I think 8 would've been more appropriate. The fries in both baskets were delicious and done a little bit on a crispy side, which is exactly the way I like them. Coleslaw was also excellent wet, but not sopping in mayonnaise. I believe the fish in the fish and chips basket was cod, and it was a very adequate portion. (Four pieces) However, when I tasted some of my wife's fish I detected a very slight bit of that "ammonia" smell/taste from a fish wash that I believe is sometimes used to preserve fish freshness life in restaurants and stores. It's actually much stronger on some of the fish I buy from giant seafood departments, which is why I don't buy much fish from the giant seafood departments. The service was very good and the waitress kept our tea/soft drink glasses full. The bill for the two luncheon baskets and two soft drinks with tax and gratuity added was $52.50. read more

I came here for dinner on a Friday evening with a party of 4. The service was quite slow as our server was helping out at the bar. The food was flavorful and the outside seating area was a great choice when we visited. They did a great job with their decor to set the vibe for the community. Several weeks ago, I stopped in for the first time on a Tuesday night for dinner. It had been a long day and after traveling, was ready for some food. After I was seated, it seemed to take at least 5+ minutes for someone to take my order, despite seeing servers walk by my area. My server was efficient and friendly. I ordered a Coke and Wicked Wings ($15.99). The wings were good, although not quite the best wings I've ever had. I ordered half with Old Bay and half with Thai Chili sauces. Hubby looked up a few spot to eat and we settled on this location for dinner. Upon arrival, parking was scarce due to the 3 reserves spots for curbside pick-up. We entered and the place seemed packed. We waited near the hostess stand, and was asked what did want. No greeting, just simply asked what we want. We advised the young lady, we wanted to be seated for 2. She said gives a moment to clear and clean a table. Not even 5 minutes of waiting, we were seated indoors near the side not far from the front door. We were given menus; the front contained the entrées and the other side drinks. I ordered the salmon and shrimp on a bed of mash potatoes and spinach with sautéed peppers' also the side green salad with no onions. Hubby had the Seafood stew. Service was on the slow side, but it does give time for conversation, but still the wait was a bit much. The salad was better than the meal alone. My entrée was overly salty, both the salmon, spinach and mash potatoes was too salty. The shrimp were no whole, just chopped in small pieces. Not what I imagined. Even hubby complained that his meal was salty. I hope the cook will be made of aware of this issue. I know for a fact I am going swell up from having too much sodium! This place isn't a considered local find for me but glad I went. What stood out the most out of my entire meal there with my friends was their mussels! I can't praise enough how well they were cooked and seasoned. The mussel itself was fully cooked yet somehow still tender which is very hard to do and the broth they cook it in was so good my friend and I kept dipping/sipping the broth alone after we finished the mussels. Although they had great service, I only gave them 4 stars because our other main dishes weren't as stellar as the mussels. Our visit to Surf House was on point tonight. We have been here before but it's been years and we forgot how good the food was. I didn't get many photos of the food since we were starving. Although for starters, we ordered the PEI mussels which are steamed mussels in a white wine sauce with two pieces of rustic toasted bread. The sauce and mussels were perfect. Then for the main dish, I ordered the fish & chips which consisted of three cod fish and perfectly cooked fries. I have to say these are probably the best fish and chips in the area that I have had so far. My husband had ordered The Dude Burger which he said was surprisingly good. Then we ordered the key lime pie to go for dessert and it's very creamy and light. Folks definitely need to try this local gem--the Surf House. And if you like to drink, they have a nice bar and drink selection. Nice and trendy ambiance with cool painted surfboards hanging on the walls. Reminds me of my times in Huntington Beach, California vibes. They even have a nice patio for outdoor seating option. During COVID, they do have a carry out option and have heat lamps for food for pick up. I visited the restaurant on 4/12/24. I ordered the fried calamari, I could tell right away when it came out it was over cooked. I also got a whiff of overly used frying oil. I was with a party of six, so rather than making a fuss about it, I tried a few pieces before I peeled the dark brown,OVERLY SALTY almost burnt coating off of it. even after that, it was still pretty bad. We have tried a great variety of their appetizers and burritos and love them all! On our latest trip here, we ordered the crab dip, Tail Whip Burrito, and Spicy Fish sandwich. The sandwich was fantastic! The lava sauce is delicious, and I wish it was spicier! They have a good beer list and cocktail list, with the orange crush being a slam dunk! If it's nice enough, I would encourage sitting outside; their back patio makes me feel like I'm in a beach town. The guacamole was was $9.95 and in my opinion I have had better at fast casual chain that starts with a C. It really did not taste freshly made.. if you charge that much it should be fresh and taste delicious. The Mac n cheese had a nice hot temperature which was nice and it tasted okay. The pork carnitas was a hearty portion on the tacos but dry and weak in flavor. The steak was good but it was reminiscent of the quality of meat you get at the fast casual place that starts with an M but less flavorful. My husband did not like how his carnitas rice bowl but he said it was actually good. He added shrimp which was s $9 up charge for four pieces. It's got a cute look inside and good music. read more

Amazing food, awful service. I've eaten here twice now, so I don't have many experiences to base this review on. However, both times (I sat outside once, and sat inside once) the quality of the food was 5/5 and the service was 1/5. Because of this, I decided to meet in the middle with a 3/5 overall rating. I've tried various appetizers and entrees and everyone at my table enjoyed everything we ordered. The food was prepared well and it came out hot. Definitely would recommend stopping by during slow hours to try the food and hopefully receive better service. The service both times was atrocious. As a server myself, I know what to look for in quality service. Our servers rarely stopped by the table, took an extremely long time to refill drinks/bring alcoholic beverages, and fulfill requests (extra sauce, etc). The service at the bar, indoor dining, and outdoor dining all suffered from very slow and intermittent service. I recommend stopping by during slow hours to try some of the great dishes they have here, but if you go during busy hours be prepared to wait a very long time for things and receive subpar service. read more

Service is lacking although understaffed restaurants is kinda the norm lately. Surf House is amazing! The environment reminds me of a restaurant off the beach and the staff is super friendly. On top of that, the food is incredible! They offered a wide variety of seafood and some American food as well. They also have non alcoholic drinks such as the coconut refresher that tastes so yummy.
