Mix match curry and jerk chicken with rice and beans and 2 sides, cabbage and plantains.
Hector R.

Second time eating from this place, and each time 10/10. Everything is seasoned to perfection, jerk chicken had enough spice to actually enjoy it.

Food was atrocious! Bumbooclat man. This just inspired me to open a yard spot in the Loudoun area. Fake "curried goat"..
Retro J.

Get a real yard chef to cook the food. This tastes like a Yankee cooked it. Someone who was born and raised here.

Customer service was good. They are also at the farmers market in Ashburn. At the Chantilly location, pull into the parking lot and the guy will come and bring you your order

Brown Stew Chicken - 20% Eaten

Kind of don't want everyone to know about this gem that we discovered but really appreciate the quality of the food and the owner's hustle. Owners name Is E aka Eazy. This is currently a shared kitchen spot so no sit-down option, which is great because sometimes I feel as if the sitdown option causes rents to spike which penalizes my portions. As for the portions? Top notch, heavy containers and the owner knows what he is doing. We orders beef patty w coco bread, jerk pork, oxtail and brown stew chicken, and other random items that we knew we'd enjoy. So Brown Stew Chicken - 9.8/10, nice smoky tang and the sweetness and tenderness is on point. Rice and peas- 9.5/10 - coconut based the way we like it and cooked thoroughly, not rushed. Oxtail - 9.7/10- we know oxtail. We've had it in Jamaica and all over the eastern seaboard. This is Top 3, ever. Smoky and sweet and tender. Sauce is plenty. Jerk Pork - 9.6/10 - the other white meat is really good here. The jerk is not too spicy and my 3 yr old could handle it. Delicious Jerk Chicken - 9.8/10 - see above and really didn't want to share with anyone in my household. Might need to freeze this for those midnight food raids. Look, if you want carribean food, normally you would have to drive to Hyattsville/College Park/ PG County and have your head on a swivel. So glad this is in Northern VA and hope East's clientele grows and grows. Please don't change the prices - at a perfect price point and apologies for the pictures, I eat first and then review later. A+++++

Oxtail and curry chicken combo

Great addition to the area as I've been searching for a solid Caribbean restaurant. The oxtail and curry chicken were both really well crafted, being tender with lots of flavor. The portions are generous as well. Can't wait to try the snapper next time!

If I could give this place 20 + stars I would. This was my first time ordering from them. They did not disappoint. This is one of my new favorite places to order food from. They give you lot of food. The Oxtails, white rice, cabbage and plantains were heaven in a little black box.

Island Flavourites Food Truck - oxtail with rice and lentils

This food truck came to our neighborhood pool as part of our swim team and community bonding…read more My daughter devoured their fries after her time at the pool. I ordered the curry crab legs with the side of mac and cheese, and the oxtail with the side of rice and lentils. Both dishes were amazing. The curry sauce for the crab was tasty and flavorful. The crab legs were steamed well and perfect when dipped in that luxurious sauce. The oxtail was fall off the bone tender and paired perfectly with that flavorful rice and lentils. We would definitely order from this food truck again. Service was kind and hospitable. Food came out at a reasonable time, especially with so many orders at the same time!

This food truck came to our building today. Since we never have had food from Trinidad and Tobago,…read morewe decided to give them a try. We knew that food from that region can be spicy and we knew that we would like to start with something tame. After looking at their menu board, I decided to go with fried chicken wings with a side of potato salad. My husband ordered pineapple chicken with a side of rice and peas. The people who work the truck are friendly and gladly answered any questions we had. It didn't take long to get our food. When we got the food upstairs, instead of getting fried chicken wings, I ended up with fried chicken tenders. Also, we were both surprised to see that each dinner comes with a small, undressed salad which consists of iceberg lettuce, red onions and a slice of tomato. They give out some sauces/dressings and I chose the one that wasn't spicy. As it was described to us, it was supposed to be "tingly". Okay...well...it was a thin sauce with a little bit of kick to it. I put it on my salad and it worked well with it. I found the chicken tenders to be on the dry side but certainly edible. My husband's pineapple chicken consisted of fried chicken tenders with a pineapple sauce that was simultaneously sweet and spicy. He enjoyed the sauce, and, thus the chicken. The potato salad had sweet undertones to it and had some peas and corn in it. I enjoyed this unconventional version. My husband liked the rice and peas, even though it was on the dry side. The peas were actually pigeon peas, which we both liked. My husband was pleasantly surprised by the food and said if this truck comes by again, he would gladly order from them. I, too, agree but now know to add the pineapple sauce to my chicken.

This place is tucked away by the other restaurants near Macy's. My coworker heard great reviews…read moreabout this place and wanted to try during lunch. Upon arrival, the restaurant was completely empty. I guess it was too early (around 1pm). There was 1 staff member and he was super friendly! The menu is a little chaotic due to the fact that there were multiple menus and kind of shattered across the counter. We didn't realize there was a lunch menu since it was in the other end of the counter and the staff had to tell us rather than it being in one place. As we were ordering, we were told most of the side dishes were not available. That's really annoying because those are probably the most popular sides and not a single one was available other than some plantains... steamed cabbage.. etc. Very disappointing! When we were done ordering, the staff told us it'll take around 10-15 mins, which is perfectly normal as we ordered 2 rice dishes and 2 beef patties. We decided to take a walk in the mall to grab drinks and come back. Even after a long 20 mins of walking around the mall and getting drinks, our food was still not ready. We ended up sitting there and waiting another 15 mins. Apparently that 1 staff was the ONLY staff on-site and he's just doing it all by himself. As for the food: - Jerk chicken was tender but overly sauced. It seems like straight up BBQ sauce on top. - Callaloo Rice - Very underwhelming. Not much flavor. Typically made with coconut milk but there were any of that flavor at all. More on the bland side. - Beef Patty - I would come back for this! It's very nostalgic as I grew up in an area that sells this often! Even in the schools I attended. I do wish there was more filling. It was very thin layer of beef and mainly liquid (possibly the fat from the meat) Overall, highly recommend the patties and make sure to order ahead of time before arriving so you wouldn't have to wait 30+ mins for your food.

After a very long hike in the morning, the wife and I decided to pick up something for lunch. And while looking for something new in the area, the wife decided to give this place a shot. We stopped by the place which is tucked in between some other warehouse stores, in the corner, not on the main road. We decided to order our food and Chef Pat was so kind and professional, he stopped by our car in the parking lot as we were struggling to find the place. The food we ordered is in the pictures, jerk chicken, Ackee & Saltfish, Mango Rum Cake, conch fritters, plantains and some beans and rice. We were running late, so the chef said they will deliver the food to our place. When the food was delivered to us, there was some miscommunication between what was ordered vs. delivered. However, when we called them, they apologized for the mistake and took care of it right away. After all this, I was, tbh, a little upset. And we sat down to open our delivery boxes since we were super hungry. As the lids opened, the aroma of the food filled the area. My frown turned into a smile right away. Now, I was getting excited to try the food, everything was packed very nicely for delivery, & was still nice and warm. Once we started tasting the dishes, I was floored. I have to say, by far, very very far, this is the best Caribbean food I have had in the US, thus far. The jerk chicken is cooked to perfection, I believe the chef mentioned they make it fresh everyday. The plantains were just so amazing, caramelized to perfection. The conch fritters were a perfect accompaniment with a sweet and spicy sauce. What truly left me speechless was the ackee and Saltfish, I cannot even begin to describe how good that dish was. I am a fan of Caribbean food now, if it's this good! To finish off, we split the Mango Rum Cake, where all we kept saying, after every bite was "yummm", as we kept closing our eyes to experience that perfect finishing touch to our meal. The food was cooked with a lot of skill, care and tons of love. The staff is coming up to speed and being trained, but the attitude of the chef is super professional and customer care oriented. A Hell Yeah 5 Star Review! Will keep going here, for sure. Wish you much success...!!!

Island Food To Go is an operation ran by Chef Pat, and you can really taste the authenticity in his food. You pre-order via calling the number or directly texting the number that is provided and then you can pick up the food curb-side, or you can have it delivered to your home. The jerk chicken was mind-blowingly good; the jerk marinade was so well-balanced and it had just the right amount of heat for my taste. The salt-fish and ackee dish was so delicious! Combine that with the red beans and rice and you have a comforting and delicious meal that is soul-satisfying. With each entree you have a choice of either white rice, yellow rice or red beans and rice. The mango rum cake we ordered was moist, buttery and perfectly baked. I can't wait to order their caribbean spice cake next time. There was a massive mix-up in terms of what was charged and what was actually delivered when the delivery driver delivered our food, but the business owner was quick to rectify the driver's mistake. They are still fairly new and fine-tuning their logistics, but with their level of professionalism and superior quality of food, I see this place becoming a big success. Can't wait to order my next meal from them!

The ordering process was smooth; I had a friend help me modify the selection, and another handled the pickup. The food was absolutely delicious. I knew that it would be--our building swamped Island Soul with orders and they seemed really busy. The collard greens didn't disappoint either: soft, lightly sour, and delicious. The fries were flavorful and crisp. I thought that the sides would be upstaged by the delicious chicken but not at all; they held their own. I also managed to sneak a few bites of some jumbalaya that my boyfriend had, which was just as delicious as the others. It was savory and meaty and completely delicious. Empanadas: I got the sausage and peppers and the chorizo Mac. The chorizo Mac, to me, was not worth jt. The Mac was flavorless and so was the chorizo. And there wasn't that much meat. The sausage and peppers though was delicious. Although neither are typical PR fillings it was nice to have that fried shell in my hands again. Smothered Tostones: I don't know what to think of these. It was ok but not great. Tostones we're not crispy but it could be because they were covered with an absolute mass of food and pasted together with some melted cheese. The cheese caught me off guard, not sure if I missed it on the description of the meal or if it wasn't there. The rice and beans could have used a bit of seasoning but was ok. The meat was actually seasoned decently and there was a good amount of it on there for the price. I would get these again and ask for the tostones to be on the side. If possible I would want them to be a bit thinner too cause I don't care for chunky plantains that are that thick. Service was amazing, they were nice, quick, efficient and willing to work with what you needed and offered alternatives to what they didn't have.
