Follow their cool truck around Northern, VA as their musubi and poke is legit and that good! I've first followed them to a festival in Fairfax City to try their musubi and bought plenty! Then I followed them to Herndon to try their poke. The fish was well seasoned and the toppings were colorful and fresh. I followed them for a third time to a coffee shop in Ashburn but they ran out of everything within one hour of opening!! You can follow their hours and locations on their website. Don't miss out on Hawaiian deliciousness! read more

Track their location on their instagram page! Lucky for me, their locations tend to be close to my office, and my home. I've tried Poke-Man Truck a couple of times, and I always get the spicy mayo salmon poke. They always served fresh poke in a fairly big circular container (the kind you get at Chinese take-out). Generous portions, in deed. The spicy mayo salmon bowl is delicious! The flavors of the salmon, sauce, veggies, and rice blend well together. They even add a lemon slice for extra flavor. Their spam musubi is also worth trying, but only if you're in the mood for it. Although there isn't anything that separates the musubi from other places, taste wise, it is bigger than other places I've been to. read more

I LOVE Poke-Man!! I do I do!! I live all the way out in BFE and a good poke spot is rare to find out here - major sad face! Here comes Poke-Man to save the day. Really good poke at a decent price!! I work from home so I pretty much follow them wherever they go, lol. I love how they always surprise me with fresh avocados some days and sweet pineapples other days. It's nice how I always order the Shoyu poke but get a little bit of a twist each time - I never get bored and I LOVE IT. Also, I always order extra fish, it costs more but so worth it!! The salmon is a staple on the menu, sometimes they have tuna and sometimes they don't. I do a little dance when they do. I usually arrive close to 11am so that I get first dibs of the day (I'm kinda greedy like that) - also because if it gets really busy, they can sometimes be sold out early. So be sure to follow them on social media!! I wish they were open more than 2 days a week!!!! read more

I'm not sure why I'm giving it 5 stars. I keep going back and forth between 4-5. I think I'm giving it a five star rating due to the quick service, the ease of the 'to go' containers it is already in, and the wonderful taste!! So I've been hunting down this truck for the LONGEST Time!! I finally caught it and I've never been more satisfied! I ordered the spicy Salmon bowl. I have actually never really liked salmon too much. Even in sushi style, it's always ever been 'alright'. But boy, did this change how I see salmon!? I loved the bowl! It came with some pickled carrots, yumm! It had a bunch of amazing sticky rice, some other light veggies, and a whole lot of spicy Salmon. I also loved the addition of masago on top! That really brought the entire dish together. I will warn you though, the dish is relatively expensive! 12$! I honestly don't mind though. It's my same though process with roll play grill. They are using better higher quality ingredients and I honestly prefer that too bad fish! The spicy Mayo wasn't spicy however it did give the salmon an amazing taste. I absolutely loved it! My lunch companion ordered the Thai Shrimp. I didn't like that one that much as I thought the thai spice wasn't that present and I didn't like the aftertaste of the shrimp but she really liked it. I loved how they didn't skimp you on shrimp though ! It only costed 10$ and it still had the veggies and carrots. All in all, I will definitely come back if I see the pokéman truck!! I will say, my only suggestion would be to maybe expand the menu a little bit. All in all read more

Finally!! There aren't really any options for Hawaiian food in the NOVA area, and now I can get my fix at Poké-Man! I went to their grand opening at Ocelot Brewery and there was a really good turnout. They offered free samples of all the flavors which is super helpful for us indecisive types. I got my food almost immediately which was super impressive for a brand new food truck. The spicy mayo salmon poké was amazing! The spicy mayo had the perfect kick without being too spicy. The shoyu ginger salmon poké was also great - it had a much lighter flavor compared to the spicy mayo so the variety is a plus. All their dishes were perfectly garnished; I LOVED the pickled carrots! The portion size was excellent for the price. I was pleasantly full after :) I tried their Thai tea which was a great pair for the meal. They even offer a skinny (diet) version as an option! Hawaiian food is pretty scarce on the east coast so I'm glad it's making its way into our area! Will definitely be a regular for this truck! read more

Poké-Man Truck - Spicy mayo salmon poké! My favorite! - Food Trucks Near Me

It's a good spot for lunch. But I don't think the price was a bit overpriced. I was a bit disappointed about the food and the speed. I wish they have a better system to manage the long line during the lunch :/ I understand that the situation is that they're selling from the food truck. It was a good experience for me to try new things around Herndon area! I got 1/2 shoyu + 1/2 spicy mayo salmon bowl. I really liked shoyu salmon because it was refreshing, yet the spicy mayo was a bit too much for me. I'm a big fan of mayo, but I felt the mayo was too strong and killing the flavor of salmon. The staffs were super nice and friendly. For your new lunch experience, I recommend exploring this place! read more

Poké-Man Truck - Pretty long line for lunch. Must be good! - Food Trucks Near Me

The owners/servers are really nice. You can get samples of everything before you make your order. They have a new menu item - Vietnamese egg rolls - and it's pretty good. I'd recommend getting these along with your poké, especially if you're really hungry. That being said, the truck is an absolute PAIN to track down. I kid you not, I've been calling them for a couple of months now to try to find them. The first few times they were closed. Other times, they were in DC. I was finally able to get a solid date/time for when they were in Sterling (where I live), although the location was still a good 20+ minutes away. Don't trust the Yelp times as they are completely inaccurate--I would 100% call them before going to see them. The food itself was decent. This was my first time having poké so I don't really have anything to compare it to. I got a mix of the spicy mayo and shoyu ginger. The spicy mayo had the perfect spice level for me, which means that it isn't that spicy (I don't do well with spicy food) lol. So for those looking for SPICE, you aren't going to find it here. I personally liked the shoyu ginger better, and will probably get that alone if I come back. The portions were okay. Everyone's saying how there's a ton of fish, so I was expecting that, but it was a pretty normal amount to me? There also wasn't enough rice to go with the fish, and for $12, there should be plenty of both. I feel like $9-$10 would be a better price point for the bowl. Overall, I won't go out of my way to eat here again unless it's convenient for me. It just took way too much time, effort, and money to track down this place. Hopefully they establish a regular schedule soon, with more convenient locations around "normal" NoVA areas. read more

Poké-Man Truck - half spicy mayo, half shoyu ginger poké - Food Trucks Near Me

Ever since I came back from Hawaii, I've been dying to have poke again! Since I've had authentic Hawaiin poke before, my expectations were high - and the PokeMan truck delivered! I got the spicy mayo salmon and it was delicious. Even the veggies tasted good. The cucumbers, lettuce, and carrots complemented the spicy salmon wonderfully. And I was really happy with the amount of fish given. More than half the bowl was just fish, it was great! I do wish there was a bit more rice though, but overall the dish was delicious. It was a bit pricy at $12, but I felt that it was definitely worth it for some great tasting Hawaiian food. I'll definitely be coming back more often for lunch! read more

Poké-Man Truck - Spicy mayo salmon Poke - Food Trucks Near Me

There once was a day at work (we all have them) where I didn't want the usual salad and was undecided what I wanted to eat. By 1pm, I was a more than a little hungry and jealous that the building down the road had gotten this food truck rather than the one we had in our lot (some usual sandwich thing). But after a super quick walk between parking lots, I arrived. Not only did I get to enjoy a little walk in the sunshine but this shrimp bowl is AMAZING!!!!! (Yes, worth the $10, yes worth the walk, yes worth 5 exclamation points). So much fresh fresh tasty amazing yumminess. This is the second time having their bowl, and at first I was a little hesitant (being honest) at fish from a food truck... but it's so FRESH!! Do it, you will not regret it. Enjoy every morsel. Your afternoon will be just as fresh as your lunch! read more

Poké-Man Truck - Thai shrimp bowl (i removed the 6 jalapeño rings for my personal non-spicy preference) so fresh and pretty. - Food Trucks Near Me

Just discovering the joys of poké bowls -- it's all the pleasures of eating raw salmon like you're Katmai Bear #409. Tried the Spicy Mayo Salmon ($12) and... Salmon bits were bear-worthy: large chunks, flavorful and plentiful. All the extra bits were equally pleasing and crunchy. There was a surprise bit of pineapple! The sweetness was a pleasant counterpart to the zangy jalapeño slice I had rashly bit into. Love the jalapeño--will ask for more next time. It was a flavor profile that worked for me. Because I adore my salmon naked, next time I'll ask for the spicy mayo sauce (which I enjoyed) on the side. That's just my particular weirdness as I challenge my inner bearness. Folks in the truck were super accommodating. As for speediness--I haven't come across any truck people who have speedy delivery down. Yesterday's visit was pretty quick, tho. If they come by your building, give'em a try! read more

Sold. I don't have a single negative thing to say. - Food quality: juicy, fresh fish with warm sticky rice. All the other stuff they put in with it is amazing too (mango, jalapenos, garnish, etc). - Service: friendly staff and super efficient. Order was ready so fast! So glad they come to Ballston once a week! read more

Sorry but I was quite disappointed. Not once but twice! First, I ordered the spicy mayo salmon poke and don't get me wrong--the bowl offered a variety of vegetables but the main entree was not one to get excited about. Being from Hawai'i...I can say that I know good poke when I taste it. Well in this case, the spicy mayo poke was smothered with waaay too much mayo! Each bite felt as if I was eating a spoon full of mayo. Not to mention, it wasn't even spicy. I still ate it just because I'm not one to waste food. Bottom line: the spicy mayo salmon poke had way too much mayo, not spicy enough--so I have to give it a thumbs down. Second, I ordered a spam musubi. Again, being from Hawai'i...I know my Hawaiian delicacies and Spam is one of them. it was $3.00 (in Hawai'i you would pay less than $1.75 for one) once given the musubi I grabbed it and to my amazement it was the smallest, tiniest spam musubi I've ever had. I was in shock and wanted to return it but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. That thing was so small and tiny that I could have eaten 10 of those and not be full. Soooo disappointed! Taste wise...blah, nothing special to speak of. To end it all, I've had poke bowls from three (3) locations and here's my ranking: 1. Lei'd Poke (Tyson's) 2. Poke Works (Annandale) 3. Poke-Man (Food truck) So...for my next poke fix, I would prefer to go to Lei'd Poke in Tyson's. Poke-Man, you have a good craft; you just need to perfect it. As for your spicy mayo poke...cut down on the mayo, add sesame oil, and add more spicy sauce to it. I may give it another shot but we'll see. read more

Went to their opening at Ocelot Brewery and it was pretty amazing. Their truck design stands out more than any food truck I've seen which isn't a huge deal, but it looks clean and crisp. Their food is amazing, though. They handed out samples of their four main dishes. My favorite was the spicy mayo salmon. I could eat that thing for days. The sauce is amazing and all you want to do is drown the rice in it. The garnishes were even delicious. The shredded carrots were marinaded and matched the fish perfectly. The portion size was pretty perfect. I was afraid I'd still be hungry after eating it, but I was pretty satiated. For shoyu ginger, the taste of the salmon comes through better with this, so it depends on what you're in the mood for. The Thai chili shrimp had a great flavor if you don't want to eat anything raw. The spicy gochujang squid has a good kick. They have Thai tea and even "skinny" Thai tea if that's what you're into. I tried both and the skinny version doesn't taste that different if you're okay with diet-ish drinks. They had quick service which is clutch for a food truck. read more

i am a fan! i feel like poke is becoming the new craze food in the area, as there poke trucks and restaurants popping up everywhere, no complaints here! i love da poke! i got the spicy salmon poke , they dont have a build your own , which is fine by me otherwise the wait would have been longer, the line moved fairly quickly though the girl who takes your order was super friendly the truck is a bit hard to find. i follow them on instagram and it took me three attempts to get to them, third time the charm, the key was to tap on the actual gps location and thus use the navigation, not type it into the gps, anywho, the food was delicious, i loved it. i wish they come into dc, but ballston was the closest i was gonna get~ read more

Had the Spicy Mayo Salmon Poke which was very good. I was a little skeptical about getting sushi grade salmon from a food truck, but it tasted fresh and was very flavorful. I'd probably do without the jalapeño peppers for next time, as that added a little too much spice for my liking. However, the japanese mayonnaise was delicous and blended well with the Sriracha and masago. It was a good portion size, my hunger was satisfied. read more

Poké-Man Truck - Spicy Mayo Salmon Poke - Food Trucks Near Me

I never knew poké, 'til I met the Poké-Man! If you like sushi or shrimp, this is for you. I tried the fresh-cut salmon drenched in delicious spicy mayo. It was fresh, well-garnished with lettuce and carrots. The sauce was just right and the serving size was ample. Such a nice change from the standard cheesesteak or taco trucks. You can tell these guys are very professional, clean, and legit. I just googled poké - it means "to cut into pieces" in Hawaiian. This food was so good, my heart will be cut into pieces until I find the Poké-Man again! read more

Had the half-and-half (shoyou salmon and spicy salmon). It's not exactly like the the poke I had in hawaii, but it's a fantastic and filling lunch. You get the poke, lettuce, pickled carrots, and some other veggies on a bed of rice. It totally hit the poke spot, but had a delicious south east asian twist to it. It filled me up too. The people working the truck were extremely friendly and gave me a perfect recommendation on what to try. Can't wait to go back to this truck. read more

I had a mix of both flavors. The fish was fresh and seasoned well. Wish they come to Ballston more often!

Absolutely love this Poke-truck! My husband and I have eaten twice there and love it! My only complaint is I wish I could eat their food everyday. :) read more

Not a fan. The taste of the sauce overpowered the fish and the serving size is pathetic.

Poke Man has all the rift ideas...but the construct of his meals are still a bit off. You get an ample amount of food for a good price, so extra kudos on that. However the large pieces of red onions and ponzu don't go well with salmon. The salad w/o dressing on the side didn't work well for me either. I do want to point out that the fish was fresh and rice was cooked to perfection :) Keep on the good work and improving your techniques! read more

Hey! So, if you have gone to Hawaii and experienced real poke bowls, you may be disappointed since this is not the same experience. However, if you really miss Poke and you have a longing for it, you will be content. I was pleasantly surprised to drive by this truck in Chantilly last week and immediately stopped for a tuna bowl. The bowls are expensive for the amount of food, but I really enjoyed the flavor and will visit this truck again if they can be found. Take care. read more

This was my first time trying poke so I have nothing to compare it to but I guess it also means I'm starting with a clean palate. It was great! They provided hefty portions and I was definitely full afterwards. read more

I was happy to finally try this place after tracking them on Instagram for a while! I ordered the shoyu ginger salmon poke bowl which tasted fresh and had just the right amount of flavor. However, I was disappointed with the amount of fish and wish I had more. My husband had the spicy mayo salmon poke bowl and it seemed like there was a bit more in his order. He liked it, but the mayo flavor was strong for me personally. I also had the spam musubi which I truly enjoyed! Overall, decent poke place. read more

Fantastic, and a great concept for a food truck. I tried their thai chili shrimp bowl recently, which was a delicious combination of (cooked) acidic/citrusy shrimp, fresh and pickled vegetables, and warmed seasoned rice. I wish that the shrimp was more spicy (and held up to the "chili" description a bit more), but overall it was delicious, filling, and well worth my $10 investment. Let's face it, food trucks can be ridiculously overpriced, but for the quality and quantity of food here, as well as the nice service, it's well worth it. I'll happily be back. read more

The coconut roasted chicken was delicious. I highly recommend it! However, I was a bit upset when I saw that the boba milk tea was filled to the top with ice, thus, limiting my amount of enjoyment of the drink to only about three gulps. The tea was delicious, but I just preferred that they give me more quantity for my money. read more

Good and simple poke. The family running the truck is super nice and really helps with the ordering process. However the truck was kindof hard to find and it was also in some really random location. Otherwise food was decent so 3.5-4. read more

Tried this at ocelot after going one night and the bbq truck being closed. They gave samples of everything and I ended up going with the shrimp. Holy cow, I got like a whole cup full of salmon in my bowl @_@ Soo good and fresh with quality ingredients! Really nice balance with the rice, carrots, salad! I don't know where else I can nom this much fresh fish for so little! You could go to Wegmans for a bunch of sashimi, but that's easily a good $20.
