    Hot Miso Soup

The OG musubi exceeded my expectations. It was flavorful and nicely put together. The side miso soup was also good and paired nicely with it. I'd order it again

This was such a great stop for a little taste of home. The musubi combinations look gnarly. It was hard to just settle on one. The loco moco fries smacked. The only challenge was when ordering from a screen, you can't really customize your food a lot. I get why places do it. It does become a struggle of a parent with a picky eater who thinks furikake is pepper and refuses to eat anything with pepper or spice. The place definitely has a lot of charm. A few tables/booths. One bathroom. The workers behind the counter stayed pretty busy with the amount of orders that came in so even though there's no personal greeting, it does give the impression they're definitely getting good business. Will come back again to try other choices.

    El Diablo Musubi

I got the El Diablo and it was pretty good! I don't think it was super memorable but I may stop if I was ever in the area and needed a quick meal. The rice ball was quite large and had a good amount of karaage. I think the spice level was medium and I dont have the best spice tolerance. I wish the sushi rice had some seasoning to it so that it would add mire flavor!

LOVE CAPITAL MUSUBI! I tabled next to them at PhilDayFest in Mosaic, and yes I did try other foods but I went back 3 times that weekend, for their GIANT musubi! It was flavor and is so filling! I ordered the Diablo, OG, and Spicy Salmon. Diablo definitely has a kick with the jalapenos, and spicy salmon was also SPICY I'd say OG is still my favorite one!! The service was quick; and the owners are so kind! I think it's a family business? If you're ever in Tysons or see their tent at different markets around the DMV, please be sure to try their musubi, they're my fav spot in this area!

Food: these were extremely big rice balls. A deliciousQuick snack for a new one looking for something to fill their tummy. We split this between two individuals i know it was more than enough food just to taste it. The el diablo was made of just fried chicken, and there's sauce. As a fan of someone that loves VERY spicy stuff, it wasn't that spicy. For anyone who can't tolerate spicy stuff.I would avoid it.

    Custom made poke bowl

I'm impressed with this place! I've tried their musubi before but never the poke bowls until today. Portions were excellent and the bowl tasted so good. Probably the best poke bowl I've had so far. Definitely returning :)

Tried to spend a relaxing weekday with family. Having a lunch outdoor and wanted something new and something convenient. I was excited to expose myself in another cuisine that I haven't had before. The service was fast since it was a beginning of the lunch time, but the staff's customer service was not impressive. The ambience was the restaurant was neat and fast food style. The food was very mediocre but pricy for the quality of food I received. I'm not sure if I will be back here again. Disappointed overall.

    Shrimp Tempura Musubi

My fiance and I were looking for a new food to try; something outside of our normal "go-to's". We also had an Uber eats gift card from Christmas that we wanted to use, and while perusing the app, we came across Capital Musubi! We reviewed the menu and were pleasantly surprised by all the options to choose from! We had never tried musubi before and were intrigued by the spam. :) we ordered the shrimp tempura musubi, the chicken musubi, 2 bao buns, and the lovo fries all to share. The musubi was much bigger than we thought! After munching on bao buns and fries, we hardly had room for the musubi! The ingredients were fresh and both tasted great! It was like eating a sushi sandwich! We're excited for leftovers tomorrow. The restaurant itself was very clean and the workers were friendly too! Our order was waiting on the pickup shelf when we arrived. We had a great experience, and will definitely try it again!

    Double Trouble Musubi

The largest Musubi in the game. Now I haven't had their whole menu because I tend to stick to my favorites. The OG Spam Musubi of course and the Salmon will always have my heart. Owner hear tells me each one is a lb of food... that's how big it is. I've journeyed to Hawaii before and Hawaiians love their rice. Just in case you think there's too much rice; it's actually culturally accurate to use a huge brick of rice along with any of your succulent meats in-between. I guarantee you'll love this place and if you don't, you probably didn't find the Musubi suited to your palate! ;)

    Ube Haupia

Soooooo good! The portion size is HUGE! They don't skimp on the filling! The spicy salmon was amazing! And the ube haupia was perfect to help cut the spice! Looking forward to coming back and trying all the other options!

Teriyaki Chicken Musubi, Spicy Salmon Musubi, Mango Sparkling Drink

Love this place! I love the portion sizes and musubi in general. The sparkling mango drink is delicious and has mango flavored jelly stars at the bottom. The inside of the restaurant is so cute with decorations on every inch of the place.

My friend who grew up in Northern VA raves about HawaU as his favorite Hawaiian spot. To be fair,…read morethere aren't many options, so there's not really any competition. I added this casual spot to my list a couple months ago, but didn't have concrete plans to check it out. Driving to Manassas and back on I-66 from where I live would cost half of my brain cells and all my patience. However, a few friends and I drove out to Shenandoah this past Friday evening, and I made a convincing argument that HawaU would be on the way. By the time we arrived, we were all incredibly hungry and ready to wolf down anything edible. The ordering process was easy: we ordered and paid at the counter, grabbed a seat at one of the few tables, and waited ~10-15 minutes for the food (parts of it are made to order). LOCO MOCO (BOWL) - 9.99 The chipotle-sized bowl was topped with loco moco: white rice base topped with hamburger patty, fried egg, grilled pineapple slice, and a generous pour of beef & mushroom gravy, plus sides of fresh cabbage salad and mac salad. The gravy nostalgically reminded me of the ones I'd get from cafeteria-style school lunches -- thick, salty, slightly starchy, yet oddly comforting. The egg, hamburger patty, and rice were pretty standard, but the familiarity of the gravy tied the whole dish together nicely. Both salads were good -- the cabbage was more light and refreshing, while the mac salad felt a bit heavy after all the loco moco. Since it's my first time eating loco moco, I can't say how it compares to others. However, I found HawaU's incredibly comforting and hearty. It really hit the spot for me, and I ate the whole bowl within 10 minutes. The loco moco is definitely their signature option and a must try. My friends who got the spicy pork bowl and udon thought both were just OK and not special.

We've had plenty of bad experiences with Chinese buffet seafood making us feel sick--pretty sure I'm not the only one--but that has never happened here. The food is always freshly steamed and served hot when you order. I'm not a big fan of overly salty, heavy American-style seasoning, so I really appreciate that they can prepare it without all that. Also, my daughter doesn't eat much seafood, but they're flexible and let us order something simple like a mozzarella stick for her, which is a huge plus. Yes, there's an 18% gratuity for parties of 5 or more, but it feels fair for the quality and service. The gumbo you can order on the side is amazing, and the crab legs, mussels, clams, and shrimp are all fresh and delicious. It's $58.99 per person, which isn't cheap, but definitely worth it. Highly recommend.
