I had the "shut your piehole" minus the mushrooms. It was an outstanding pizza. The wood fire cooking process and ingredients on the pizza were a great combination. The pizza is solid. On a scale of 1-10, I'd give it an 8 if it weren't for the excessive grease, which I suspect comes from using cheaper ingredients, particularly some of the meats. But once you factor in the grease and the terrible organization, the overall experience drops significantly. At the Burke brewery location, they had people standing around like idiots for 20-30 minutes while barely managing two orders every 15 minutes or so. To make matters worse, they continued taking phone orders ahead of customers already waiting in line. On top of that, they've raised their prices, and a pizza that's not even 8 inches now costs around $20. At that price, I was half-expecting to find gold in it. Easily the best wood-fired artisanal pizza that I've been able to find in NoVA, and it's a food truck. Found them at Bunnyman Brewery in Burke, and have been watching the schedule and going back every time they're there (every two weeks generally) for the past year or so. Delicious, well-balanced sauce. Excellent dough/crust. Interesting ingredient combos. The level of doneness can vary a little, but ours have always been fine. I prefer mine slightly more done with a bit of that hot wood oven crisp/caramelizing on the edges. Usually the case, but today was a bit less so -- fully cooked, but just. Still -- totally delicious and worth it. Wish they had a brick and mortar joint to frequent. The couple working the truck are great. On a hot summer day like today, with the wood fire blazing, that truck must be an oven inside. But they keep churning out delicious pies. Killer Tomato Pizza Food Truck came to our office building today. I was super excited to see that there was a personalize pizza Food Truck. I have no idea how three people worked in that truck, efficiently from throwing and stretching the dough, to taking orders, putting the personalized toppings on the dough to fire cooking and packaging the pizza! This was mind-blowing to me, bravo for that! Personally, I just wasn't a big fan of the pizza. The pizza was very greasy. I took the pizza about 50 ft away to a table outside to enjoy it while talking on the phone to my bf. After the first piece the center part of the pizza was soggy from all the greasy and didn't hold up and the crust just tasted mushy... The truck was a BIG hit at our campus, at least 5 people in my small department of 10 went and got their own pizza as well. I just think it's a-ok pizza, but you should be your own judge! read more

That's some good pie (ordered the Big Daddy). The sauce is super flavorful, the crust edges are deliciously charred. The toppings are damn good - especially the olives. I mean, I thought I hated olives, but I obviously have never had olives like this and they were perfection on this pie. The problems? The crust is way too thin/not sturdy enough to handle the very saucy sauce, and the toppings. Though the edges of the crust is gorgeous and charred and well cooked, the crust under the sauce and toppings is weak and not cooked long enough to develop a crispness that can hold all the sauce/toppings/cheese. Food trucks never seem to get enough love on yelp! I stumbled across this truck while strolling the trucks around Farragut one day at lunchtime. First thing i noticed was how fast they get your order made, which was definitely a bonus for me. I got the "Shut Your Pie-hole" which is essentially pepperoni and sausage (and some other goodies) - It was delicious! I have gone back a few times now and either gotten that one again or a regular cheese (also delicious). What I like about this place is they give you plenty of cheese/ingredients. Sometimes I find these artisanal pizza shop type places skimp on cheese/toppings and your left with 3 inches of crust and a puddle of cheese in the middle....not the case here! This truck is off the chain. I ran into them in Reston during the normal lunchtime crowding, and just happened to be in a pizza mood (of course, when am I not?). Checked out the menu, which pricing was about on par with other trucks that come through. Ordered the Big Daddy pizza and talked with the lady taking orders and guy handling the money. Turns out it was their first week on the road! Cool group of people and easy to make conversation with. Pizza was boxed up and brought it back to the office for the grand taste test. OMG this was one of the better pizza's I've had in a long time. Crust was nice and crispy and bubbled on the edges, mozz was melted and natural, toppings were awesome (olives were unbelievable). A pinch of salt and olive oil added to the pizza was a nice touch to add some zest. The pizza did have a slight smokey taste, but that's the nature of wood-fired pizza. Previous review must have caught them on an off day. I must confess this visit was NOT my last. I have almost been a secret stalker, following them on Facebook and hitting them up every time they come around the Dulles area. Last time I tracked them down I made small talk with the dough slinger/owner, this guy is as cool as they get. Wow. This place is amazing and so unexpected! I ordered the Big Daddy pizza (pepperoni, mushroom, onions, kalamata olives, mozzarella cheese and san marzano tomato sauce). The sauce was beyond great, offering a fresh sweet/savory taste that was absolutely delicious. The mozzarella cheese was great quality. The ingredients were divine, everything seemed fresh. Special shoutout to the kalamata olives - these aren't your normal olives you see on pizzas from regular stores. They had a sweet/salty taste that made me want more and more. The wait time was minimal (less than 5 minutes), which surprised me since they make their pizzas from scratch. They use a wood-fire oven to cook the pizzas, and they come out perfectly - with a little taste of that charred smoky smell, which was great! As a transplant from northern NJ, I am used to the amazing pizzas they have up there and have struggled to find a favorite pizza place in the DC area. Killer Tomato catered our commitment ceremony, and it was excellent! They provided appetizers and several kinds of pizzas - and even allowed our guests to custom order personal pizzas. The price was very reasonable (about $3,000 for 70 people, including travel to Stafford), and our guests raved about the quality of the food, and about the uniqueness of the idea. If we could do it all over again, we would absolutely use Killer Tomato again! (Note: They are limited in terms of how quickly they can make pizzas; I wouldn't recommend the truck for events significantly larger than ours.
