This is my first Yelp review, and the only reason I'm writing it is because of how horrendous the service was at Poke Hub in Fairfax. I placed an order for two bowls about 30 minutes ahead of time and received a confirmation saying it would be ready in 20 minutes. I arrived 25 minutes later. There was no line, and two employees were standing at the counter doing nothing. I was then told their system had "messed up," and they would make my order in five minutes. While I was frustrated, I understood that technical issues can happen. Five minutes later, I noticed one employee working on an order that wasn't mine, while the other continued standing around. My order had not even been started -- despite being told it would be ready. There was no apology, no sense of urgency, and no communication. It felt like the situation was completely disregarded. I ended up waiting about 20 minutes total in the store for what was supposed to be a quick pickup. I eventually requested a refund and left. The staffs are rude, unfriendly, and act as if they're doing you a favor by serving you. For instance, asking for something as simple as extra greens shouldn't make me feel bad, especially when you're a paying customer. There's no "thank you," no warmth, just attitude. It's frustrating to spend my hard-earned money in a place where basic courtesy is lacking. It was everything I imagined it to be. They added some of the stuffing from the burrito on top of tortilla chips it was good as hell. The food was 9/10. Solid 5/5! After passing by this place many times, I decided to give it a try for lunch. And since I saw some good reviews, why not give it a chance. I got a medium Poke bowl with Spicy Tuna and Salmon. You get three options for protein if you get a medium, so I just opted for double Spicy Tuna and one salmon. The ingredients were fresh and plenty to choose from. There were a lot of add-ons/toppings that were complimentary, which made it very easy to customize your bowl to your liking. The portions are very generous as well, so you probably will walk out of here in a food coma like me. The service was excellent! Nicely kept tables and chairs. We didn't have a line but once we got the order we noticed a lot of people place a to-go order for pickup. Anyway, the quality of sashimi was decent. I liked the portion for medium (Iron Pan doesn't come in a different size). The ingredients were fresh and the dish was flavorful but the one thing that I didn't like was how saucy it was. This place used to be Pokeworks and was my go-to poke spot. Now it's called "PokeHub" and for the most part, has the same set up and concept. You can create your own bowl or select from their menu of pre-selected bowl ingredients. It looks like they also have a sushi burrito and a K-BBQ bowl. One thing that I wish they offered was soba noodles! Before PokeHub, I used to ask for half rice & half soba noodles. Although I miss it, it won't stop me from coming back. The prices seem to be a bit more than I remember. Inflation maybe. I think the service could've been better. The employees didn't look very happy to be there. I love this place - I've never gotten so much food in a poke bowl before. I got a medium bowl with half brown rice and half spring mix, which also comes with 3 scoops of protein. I heard that this poke place is second best place for poke in nova so I had to try it. They had pre-made bowl options but I ended up making my own bowl. Good thing about this is if you are watching out for carbs or more conscious about nutrition, you can pick and choose what you want to put in. I made it more like a salad style by asking for all the veggies (kale. Spinach,romaine) as a base and asked them for tiny bit of rice, which I regretted later haha (it was too salty, saucy) . I would say the freshness and quality of sushi and veggies are 4.5/5. What got me was their portion size. IT IS A LOT. I've always hear my guy friends complaining how tiny the portion size is for poke but this place gives you A LOT. So if you are all about that, come here. One other thing that stood out to me was their sauce combos. They listed 5 different sauce combos (sweet&mild, spicy, etc). I usually get lost when I have to choose sauce for my poke bowl and if you have the wrong combo, you just wasted $13. But those recommended combo really helps you to enjoy your poke bowl. I got #3 which was sweet and mild (best sauce combo with salmon in my opinion). But, here's the problem. They are TOO GENEROUS with the sauce that it was too salty/saucy for me (also it's my mistake that I did ask for less rice). So if you want salad style ask for less sauce (this will make it taste better and save some calories for you too). But, here's why I'm giving 3/5 for this review. The problem is the rice. It wasn't cooked right. Too much water, maybe they messed it up only for this time. It was to a point, all the rice got stuck together like a porridge. My friend who got regular rice bowl left all her food because she just couldn't eat it. It was disappointing since I was the one who suggested to try there.
