This is my first time trying a meal delivery service. I am just about to start a major kitchen reno…read moreand didn't want to eat take out every single night, so I decided to give Chef Swole a try before the reno starts. I have to say, my husband and I are VERY pleased and have gone past our one week "trial run" and are now entering our third week. First, I feel like I spend wayyyy more money than this at Whole Foods every week, and only get a few meals out of it. Second, I am a working mom, and by the time I get home after being stuck in traffic, cooking is the last thing I want to do. Dinner is done, and I can spend more time with my daughter when I get home. Third, the food is really, really good. Ingredients are high quality and what I'd make at home if I had the time. Fourth, portions are awesome. We signed up for the deluxe, and I split my meal with my daughter (15 months old) and I am more than full. My husband is always full off of one meal too. Sometimes for lunch we will even split a container in half and be fine (and we get more meals out of it!)

I've ordered 3x now I believe and I would have to say the last delivery was the absolute best. I…read morelove Asian foods and he hit it out the park that week. Food taste: In other weeks, I've had to add my own sauces. I always order the deluxe portion for 20% more food because the regular size is too small for me. I cook and add more veggies because most prepared foods don't give me enough. The only thing I needed to add to these last meals were a pinch of salt, but this makes sense because the food is made for all types of people. Delivery: I love the fact that the food is delivered to my doorstep. They deliver on Sundays and seem to be providing service every other week now. There are 4 options available but you can adjust how many servings you want of each meal. Service: No issues and I get a prompt response each time.

The meal was exceptional and Chef left us with extra leftovers to enjoy the following days. The bourbon chocolate pecan pie was one of the best desserts we've ever tasted. Highly recommend!

They were so good that I must have eaten 6 or 7 of them over the course of two days-- and get this, I don't even like pancakes! But these were soooooo good and tasted light years better than any pancake I've ever tasted in life. Oh, and the scrambled egg dish (with fresh mushrooms, tomatoes, etc.) was deeeeeeeeelish! And this is coming from someone who doesn't generally eat eggs, but rather only egg whites. I had almost decided to pass on the dish on the sheer principle of things, but I'm so glad I gave it a try. I ended up having seconds. And thirds... Add to all this the perfectly crisped bacon and fresh fruit platter -- and this was a perfect breakfast! Everything was fresh, healthy, and well-seasoned -- and it somehow managed to be both a light and hearty breakfast that didn't leave you in a food coma for the rest of the morning. In sum, I am highly impressed with Unique Soul Cuisine and wish I had come across this caterer a week ago when I was booking caterers for a family reunion event that I'm hosting this summer. Will definitely keep this place in mind for any future catering needs though!

Despite all of these decent reviews, I don't know if service has degraded as of late. Sus, while…read morepleasant at our first meeting, was terrible to us as we got closer to the event--ignoring previous contract agreements, and refusing to even open attachments showing evidence of those agreements that she wanted to charge is more for. On the wedding day, while the food was good, we had many complaints about Sus's attitude, and their service was not very good. The bar was a mess, they refused to serve people, etc. But honestly, I place this blame on Sus--I certainly wouldn't want to work for her seeing her attitude. Showing rudeness by the owner, for which we were conveyed of such by our guests during an event is unacceptable (she ripped a drink away from the bride's sister for no reason, even though we provided the alcohol and liquor license. She was observably rude to her staff in front of guests). Also, just getting a contract right was a terrible experience. Sus was not a good listener and seemed to never write things down. It was so unorganized that we would have way too many meetings going over the exact same things, getting contracts that didn't reflect our discussions, having to rehash again to get things right...then again, only to have agreements reneged 2-weeks before the event, where she was threatening that we should just go with someone else if we didn't agree to her late price adds that went against the contract. Oh, and by contract she was supposed to leave the food after the event--didn't happen. Again, the food is the only highlight here. Not recommended.
