Simply Elegant is simply wonderful. I have used a lot of caterers at my place of work, but once I tried Simply Elegant, I stopped using all others. From day one, they took the time to listen to my special requests and answer all of my questions (I interviewed one of the two owners on the phone before trying them). Since that time, both owners - Dave and Rich - have been wonderful to work with. Their delivery person, Jay, is top notch - so pleasant and always on time and very helpful and quick in setting everything up. I also just used them for a personal event I had in my home this weekend (again, with several special requests). They accommodated all of my wishes and again they were right on time, and everything looked beautiful. Oh and...their food is GREAT as well (sort of an important factor to mention.) ;) All of my guests were asking me from whom I ordered the catering. I cannot say enough great things about Simply Elegant. They're a best kept secret in the Reston, VA area. I hope others who feel the same will follow suit and post a review for them. read more

I had the pleasure of working with Rich Kalfian, the owner of Simply Elegant, whom I hired to cater my daughter's bridal shower. During the initial phone call, Rich asked questions about what type of menu I had in mind. I wanted a ladies luncheon with both brunch items and small sandwiches. He developed the perfect menu with two kinds of frittata, scones with clotted cream, five different kinds of petite sandwiches and a variety of desserts. The food was delicious and my guests were very happy to return for seconds and thirds. Rich also provided everything necessary for a beautiful display. Rich along with his assistant, helped to serve my guests, taking their plates and refilling their drinks. It was my first experience using a caterer and I am so very pleased with the service I received. I highly recommend using this caterer! I did a low-key wedding reception a few weeks after I got married. Rich helped me visualize what I wanted (heavy snacks, casual but pretty outdoor setting, tents, tables, to encourage socializing, etc), and set a perfect menu. People later praised the food, and the fact that people were never left waiting for food - the passed trays came around with frequency. Rich was also really flexible, and allowed us to use our own alcohol, to include my husband's home-brewed beer. They even let us provide our own cake, but offered chocolate-covered strawberries, which were a hit and are one of my favorite "special" foods. The way they displayed everything made it look so high-end. Rich was very responsive, and overall the event was fantastic. The experience was really positive and he found the most beautiful, autumn-themed flower arrangement I've ever seen, for the food table. read more

Simply Elegant catered my son's Bar Mitzvah recently and did a fantastic job. We were very impressed from the first discussion of the potential menu through the event cleanup. This was a very professional and enjoyable experience. Our menu was a deli theme, including sandwiches, chicken and tuna salad, fruit and of course dessert. Simply put, it was fantastic. Everyone raved about the food and the presentation was perfect. The service was equally great. Simply Elegant arrived early, worked in the background to setup during the ceremony, and was fully attentive during the celebration. We had a steady supply of food and drink through out. Once the event ended they efficiently packaged left overs for us and cleaned up quickly. I would highly recommend Simply Elegant for any function and will use them again in the future! read more

Rich was very helpful and kept everything running smoothly and on time! Rich even kept me on schedule by letting me know when it was time for everyone to set for dinner which was very helpful. We hired Simply Elegant to cater our engagement party for about 70 guests at my parent's home. We met with Rich before the party and discussed menu options as well as the type of party we wanted it to be. He offered such wonderful suggestions for appetizers and entrees and we followed each one. Passed hor dourves and beverages were served to guests inside and outside. Not only was the food delicious and received many compliments, but so did all three caterers who were extremely attentive to all the guests and the action that was going on at the party. We chose Simply Elegant for our corporate "After Hours" function, and we were so impressed by the service and quality. Of the various quotes we solicited, Simply Elegant's was the best value. Dave and team were also able to do an electronic payment only cash bar for us, which other caterers were not. The 3 person-team were efficient, professional, and diligent. I work in the building where simply elegant is located. I literally eat there every day for lunch and our company often caters from them. The food is so fresh and flavorful with so many options to choose from. All their cold sandwiches are great and the hot ones are even better. I love their Reuben. Even the chicken tenders are a hit. They often have a daily special that is always so flavorful and exciting. Crab cakes! However the best thing about this place is the staff. Ordered the Executive Lunch for 15 people. The sandwiches were excellent, hardly any leftovers. The chip assortment worked very well and the dessert cookies were good too.
