Went for the first time last weekend. The place has potential but we will not be returning. It was really dirty and a lot of things were broken. Rules were not being enforced by staff. Adults and children alike were walking around BAREFOOT, no socks, on the installations (yuck, gross). Older kids were roughhousing in the toddler (3 and under) section, making it unsafe for our 18 month old. Rules say not outside food or drink but there were crumbs of food all over the floor and tables near the toddler section. Stayed for less than an hour because it felt grimy and our kid couldn't play safely. read more

I was expecting more for being an indoor play place, but there is a lack of control and a lack of staff actually watching. Also, know that you will be leaving sick because of all the kids and germs. I was really looking forward to bringing my daughter here for her 2nd birthday as my nephew celebrated his 2nd birthday here 8 years ago and had a memorable experience. Our little ones had so much fun! We first came to Monkey Joe's awhile back for a birthday party but our little one was asleep the entire time. So we had to come back! Free parking is available in front of MJ's. Upon entering, you will fill out a form and pay. Every person in your party will get a wristband. Children 2 years and under (if playing) are $6.99. Children older than 2 years are $12.99. Adults are free. There are cubbies towards the entrance where you can place your shoes and coats/sweaters. They have a refreshment area which offers drinks, snacks, ice cream, salads, wraps, pizzas, chicken tenders, quesadilla's, etc. Everyone enjoyed their pizza's and salad. I appreciate that they have a toddler zone for kids 3 and under. Our little ones had so much fun here. Restrooms could have been maintained a bit better. Employees were all very friendly, helpful, and patient. Monkey Joe's has a bunch of party rooms. Each party looked so organized and MJ's really does a great job setting and cleaning things up in a timely fashion. We will definitely be back! read more

Renovated and now open as of December 5th! I am not sure what it was like prior to the renovations. But the toys and equipment appear to be in good or new condition. I like how the columns, floors and equipment are all soft and padded. Not all the electrical outlets have safety covers so that needs working. There is a toddler zone for the little ones to explore their gross motor skills. They have someone there making sure kids older than 3 do not play in that area, which I really appreciate. My toddler was all smiles in the toddler area, and the bigger kids areas (with our company of course). We did arrive when it was less busy so the equipment was clean for the most part. I did notice a few food particles laying around. Price wise, this place is cheap, compare to other indoor playgrounds and "Montessori- style" play spaces. The cost for our toddler on the weekend was $6.99. There are weekday specials too. It's 8 credits per game and $5 gets you 40 credits. If you pay more, you get bonus credits. The games aren't extravagant. But our toddler enjoyed watching us play. There are 4 party rooms and they serve food as well. We didn't try their food but I'm sure the pizza will kid and toddler approved. It gets crazy when the volume builds up. Kids running all over the place screaming. Our little one got intimidated and didn't want to explore further once the place got packed. I think the least crowded time frames are the best! read more

This place is great for my 16 mth old son!!! He loved the large toddler area which has tons of stuff for him to climb on. There's a bounce area for toddlers next to it as well. The price is cheaper than some of the other places nearby. I highly recommend this as a great place to get some wiggles out! read more

Someone give me a badge, I have officially graduated to a new level of Yelper -- reviewing kid's birthday party spots! I've been here for several parties and I can see that for a kid, this place is five stars. There are moon bounces, arcade games, birthday cake, pizza, soda and more! What better way to spend a Saturday morning afternoon? It's bright and flashy, and there are people running around everywhere. As a parent, I found the place to be a bit overstimulating/overwhelming but this place ain't for me. The little one was SO happy in the Under 3 soft playroom and loved climbing up and down the giant mats. There were a few big kids in there who were throwing the blocks at her which made me a bit uncomfortable -- and also where are your parents child!? I was also a little bit dismayed by how dirty it was. All of the toys were visibly frayed and had layers of dirt caked onto it. If you are planning to have a birthday party here, the Monkey Joes team definitely takes all the work out of hosting a kid's birthday party. They set up the room, cut up your pizza, serve sodas, and help you load up your car with presents at the end. I definitely see the appeal. All in all, it's a fun place but there are definitely ways they can make it better. read more

Just found out that this place just re-opened last week after being shut down for like 6 months. The guy I talked to was part owner and it's all under NEW MANAGEMENT. $13 for unlimited bouncing around is awesome. If this place adopted an all-you-can-play option on the video games at a reasonable price (like Chuck E. Cheese) then we'd be here ALL the time. In fact, we literally just burned an hour there just before coming here. Unfortunately, playing doesn't burn very much energy, and I wanted my son to burn more of it before coming home...and so my wife could recharge at home alone. They also have food here, so no outside food allowed. But apparently they are still trying to finalize a menu, so there is stuff available that's not on the menu. I haven't tried it yet, but their pizza is made in-house. They have 6 bounce houses and a 7th for the small tots. Apparently, they will also have a jungle gym type climbing structure coming soon...which will mean one less bounce house. Bottomline: come with a friend so the kids can play together. Otherwise, your kid (like mine) may get bored after 15 minutes. I bought a $10 game card and made my son jump around for 10 minutes before playing another video game. read more

My parents wanted to bring my son here so I obliged. Make sure you fill out your waiver online before arrival! There are cubbies for shoes and hooks for bags. There is a special area for 3 and under; that's where we spent most of our time. There were really no inflatable elements in this area. It's a lot of soft play equipment, which is fine. There is a mini bounce for the 3 and under set next to the soft play area. It has a basketball hoop , a slide, and some room to bounce. The large area has more slides, tunnels, ropes, etc. Then there is the inflatable obstacle course which is fun as well as the large inflatables slides. There are several arcade games as well and many are toddler friendly. My kid clearly liked the arcade games (whether he was actually playing or thought he was playing but actually was not) more, so I don't think we will head back soon but maybe keep in mind for when he's more agile. read more

We just hosted my son's 4th birthday party at Monkey Joe's in Sterling. I cannot say enough good things about our experience. The outcome exceeded our expectations. Our hostess Zenath was fantastic. She greeted us immediately and explained how our day would go and what to expect. She was very helpful with set-up, throughout the party, and with clean-up. Our party room was very clean as was the facility. We would definitely recommend them for a party and/or playdate. Your kids experience here will really depend on how old they are. There is definitely a sweet spot of 3-6 years old who will love this place. We came here once when my daughter was younger for a party, and she wasn't able to use a lot of the inflatables. There is a section just for toddlers, but its on the small side, and needs to be better monitored to keep older kids out. Once our daughter was old enough to climb on the inflatables though, she had a blast. There are four different ones they can use, and you have a great view of all of them as a parent (with one exception for the slide/climber by the VR area which has an area parents can't view- please fix this!) With a few exceptions the staff is super friendly, but could do a better job monitoring overall. Quick tip- if you are coming here for the first time and not part of a birthday party, download the app first- you can get a free admission for a child that way. read more

We have been here for birthday parties, drop-in adventures with some friends, and a few times with my monkeys to help them get the wiggles out. Overall the place is really clean, considering how many kids are in here. I haven't seen a vomit accident before but wonder how they handle accidents. I have not ever noticed the plugs covers but have also never had a child go at them with anything that would fit it the socket. Ours have a shutter inside but I haven't had a kid that could get a finger in any intact socket with a wall cover. If they have a few small bladed screw drivers or paper clips, then they are going to have a bad day when they get them in there. Otherwise, the sockets are safe. We thought that the VR area (Super Cool!) was very weird but understand that kids seek immersive experiences they can't get from their phone or iPad. My 7 year old loved it but my 4 year old could care less. Plus, the lines could be longish. However, I thought it was SUPER COOL! Parties are a shared experience with a private party room. read more

Came here for a kids birthday party. My son is 4 and really enjoyed this place. He even asked if he could have his birthday party there. The staff do all the work for you. They set up the room, cut the cake, serve the food, clean up, collect the gifts, etc. My son loves running around and playing in the inflatables. The only reason for 4 stars is because some of the inflatables seemed old and had rips in them. They just put duct tape over those areas and it is an eyesore in some areas. I especially noticed this on the steep slides by the back of the facility that face the windows. Overall though this place is fun and my son had fun, so that's all that matters. read more

Negative experience here with booking a birthday party. I selected a 1230pm party, I was not allowed to arrive till 1225 at earliest. I had to wait in the vestibule till they were ready for me. Hostess was extra happy and ready to take over. She handled everything. I bought extra game cards for the guest kids, she refused to give them to the kids till After cake and eating. Everything to the T on scheduling, constantly asking to move to the next party step. Monkey Jane came in a waved and left. Had to ask her to come so I could at least get 1 picture to take. Than when ready to clean up she asked us to move out. I asked to put the gifts together she refused said she would take care of it all and it would be in the cart, I did not have a lot, I had 2 reg size giftbags and a few envelope cards. WELL, one of my envelopes is missing and it was from my mom! I asked if she saw it and she quickly denied it being on the table. It was where my older daughter sat and ate. I asked to even check the trash bag they used and she refused that. Said it was already out back. Did not apologize, did not try to help even just brushed it off. I even went out back to check the trash cans and they had a paddlock on it. I spent $499 day of and $150 deposit for a party of 8 kids which they charge a 15% service for the whole amount spent which was $84 additional. I got extra food for the parents. Way too much money for a gift carelessly thrown away by them and whole party rushed even for monkey jane to make a 5 second experiance. I wish I could get my money back!! I will never come back NOR recommend Monkey Joes Dulles to any family or friend of mine. I know its my responsibility for the gifts but as I tried to do it-I was very quickly dismissed by the hostess to step out so she can take care of it all. I cannot begin to describe how incredibly disappointed I am with the abysmal service we received at Monkey Joe's Indoor Play Area at Dulles for my daughter Abigail's 5th birthday party on July 22nd. This establishment managed to turn what should have been a delightful celebration into an absolute nightmare. Monkey Joe had carefully planned and scheduled the event, booking the party room for two hours as per their instructions. First Hour: Guests arrive for bounce & play time! Next 30 Minutes: Party room for food and fun! Next 15 Minutes: Cake time and a visit from Monkey Joe or Monkey Jane! Last 15 Minutes: Party wrap up/final payment The first hour seemed promising, with the children enjoying themselves in the play area. However, the service problems began when it was time to move to the party room at 3 pm. Our host announced for our guests to return to the party room at 3 pm. However, the host didn't show up with the pizza and drinks until 3:13 pm, leaving us to entertain our highly energized guests. The delay in serving the food was already bad enough, but what followed was even worse. After the pizza and cupcakes, we were left waiting for nearly 20 minutes, for our host to return with promised visit by Monkey Joe and the game cards, which was part of our party package. Several of hyper guests were chatting "Monkey Joe! Monkey Joe!", while waiting in the party room. I went to the front desk twice to ask for a manager or where was our host. The staff seemed to have no sense of responsibility or communication skills whatsoever. It's like they don't care about their customers at all. We finally let all of the guest return to the play area. By the time Monkey Joe and the host finally decided to grace us with their presence, half of the guests were already buying game cards or leaving. The level of unprofessionalism displayed by the staff was astonishing. Not only did they mess up the character, dressing up Monkey Jane instead of Monkey Joe, but they also failed to communicate this issue for the delay properly. To add insult to injury, when I raised my concerns with the host, things turned ugly. He was completely disrespectful and rude, cutting me off and making snide remarks. I never expected such appalling behavior from someone working in the service industry. We spent over $500 on this disaster of a party, and they had the audacity to request an additional 20% gratuity for such a terrible experience? Are they kidding? For that kind of money, I expect a flawless event, not this circus of incompetence on 2-hour children's party. Monkey Joe's had plenty of staff members on hand, yet they couldn't manage to provide even the most basic level of service. It's clear they have no idea how to run a children's party, and their lack of organization and communication skills are unforgivable. I wrote the Owner/Operator of Monkey Joe's Syed Hussain, and I still haven't received a response. In conclusion, I would strongly advise against hosting any event at Monkey Joe's Indoor Play Area. They ruined my daughter's birthday, and I wouldn't wish such a disastrous experience on anyone else. Save your money and your sanity, and steer clear of this establishment. Very clean play area. This is especially important during COVID-19. Staff goes around and disinfects every hour. I feel petty safe with my children coming here. This was our first time and we will definitely be back. The prices are fair and the pizza surprisingly good. So glad they have an area for younger children so that my 1 year old could play as well. Staff was very welcoming and friendly and all the parents did their best to socially distance. So happy I found a place for my children to play. We recently celebrated our daughter birthday party at Monkey Joe's Dulles VA. My overall experience where awesome, room and host were ready with all the stuffs even before we check in. Room was a descent size and can accommodate 16-20 kids at a time. My daughter enjoyed slides, inflatable Bouncy activities & other activities in offer. Had a great time for our daughter's 5th birthday. Marisa was a fantastic host, keeping the kids plates full of pizza and drinks full of juice. She was always asking us (the parents of the party girl) if there is anything we want her to do, but she had everything under control. The only "complaint" I have is that I offered a guest list, which they declined. There were then siblings of other guests that were added to our tab. I take some blame for not making it 100% clear with the parents that this wasn't intended, but the guest list would have alleviated the situation. I come here weekly with a two year old that I nanny. We both love it! We stay for hours playing on all the cool stuff and also playing the games! I definitely love the games! The 3 story playground isn't open yet but looks like when it's done (apparently later this week 1/28/20) it will be a great addition to the bouncey gym/houses. Minus 1 star for the arcade portion of the site. The games are a good selection, but it is way too expensive. The minimum credit 8, which is about a $1 to play. Some of them are upwards to $2-$3 per game. Much more expensive then, say Chucky Cheese in that aspect. Would be better if they were closer to 2-4 credits for the amount of play the kids get out of them. Overall, good place to wear out your kids under 8. read more

Update: I am told there is a changing area in the men's room. I guess my husband was lying to get out of changing the baby hahaha... I was debating between two and three stars. The kids have tons of fun here so that's great because that's what it's all about. We can spend 3 hours here with my 1 and 3 year-old girls. There are several fun bouncing/climbing/sliding/obstacle course play areas and my almost 4 year-old can almost play on all of them independently. The 3 and under bounce house and matted play area are great for the younger ones so they can join in on the fun too! I won't criticize the food because it's the typical junky kids play place selections but they are all like that. However, they need to make several improvements especially for the folks with younger kids to feel safe here. 1. OUTLET PLUGS EVERYWHERE! There was an uncovered outlet by the arcade area and my 19 month-old kept going right for it! Thank goodness I keep a close watch on her! 2. ENFORCE the 3 and under rule for the 3 and under zones!!!!! We were there for 3 hours today and there were no employees keeping watch the entire time. I had to enforce the rule myself when two older boys (at least 5) started wrestling at the top of the baby slide right by my toddler and almost hit her. Another older girl went head first down the slide and nearly kicked my toddler- would have if I hadn't quickly pulled her out of the way. Other than that it's great, so I guess three stars it is for now, but two of those three items I mentioned are serious safety concerns so I hope they take steps to improve things. read more

If you luck out like we did today, you're attending the only early party. There was lots of room and the place was calm. Dun, dun, dun...then the crowds appear and the place is full of little ones running around. There is an area for children under three. There are arcade games. They sell food and non-alcoholic drinks. If you need a beer to get you through two hours of kid play, head over to Chuck E Cheese. The music is low and terrible. The colors are bright and cheery. Plenty of seating for bored parents.
