I've been coming for a few years but have recently stayed away given the large crowds. I went yesterday and was surprised of the new renovations which were in much need because the place was going downhill. Nonetheless, I was pleasantly surprised by the upgrades! The facility was clean and the new staff was kind. There was someone constantly cleaning and monitoring the play areas. We went at 9am on Sunday and we beat the crowds! Today was my 3rd time here with my son. Such a cool idea to have this indoor play area and so much fun, however, today was a different experience. We got there at 9am, their opening time...no one was there. Doors locked. No employees and lights off. Another mom was there with her kids also and she called them and talked to management I think? 15 mins later an employee speeds into the parking lot. Happy they were open, but not very professional. I was hoping that going right at 9am when they opened that it would be the cleanest. I don't think they've cleaned in a while. Gum on the floor, tons of hair and crumbs, dust, ripped equipment....It's really gone down hill since I've been here last. Not sure when I'll be back with my son again. Hyper kidz is a great spot for the kids to blow off some steam during the summer or winter months with countless activities and sections for the kids to play. The staff was friendly and they have a lot of seating both inside and outside of the play area. It can get a little crowded, especially after 10:30am and you can usually anticipate at least one birthday going on. Given the number of sections, visibility is not always great, especially if you are trying to keep eyes on multiple kids or younger ones that may require some attention. We also were a little disappointed that it was not open at the stated start time (9am on Sunday) as staff arrived about 10 minutes late leaving multiple families of early birds (who are we kidding, the kids had been up and ready to go for hours) waiting. It's still a good alternative to the heat/cold and chance for 2 hours or so of activity. read more

Our 17 month old son enjoyed fun here for the first time yesterday, as well as us (his parents). The young lady at the front desk was kind, personable, and very pleasant to interact with. The age specific areas were nicely labeled and the boundaries clearly defined, which kept small children like our son very safe. We were still able to explore the other areas freely. No. No. NO! I came here for a child's two year birthday and brought my daughter to celebrate and have fun. I must hate unorganized entertainment because this was short of pure chaos. 1. We got there early to help set up the room for the party, and they informed the hostess that her room wasn't ready yet even though her reservation started in 15min. So we waited for them to kick the other people out and clean everything up. We got access to the room 30min later (so now the party started 15min late), and they were cleaning up and setting up in a speedy way (no, this isn't good). Crumbs and wet spots were on the floor. Tables didn't match the same sizes for you to place your items on. The tables were basically some card tables, which served its purpose, but they could have been the same sizes for uniformity. 2. As for the environment: People bring their kids in for just a fun day, but also for parties. It has the cool idea, but once again...unorganized. They split up the sections for bigger kids, small kids (above 2yrs), and a section for 2yrs and younger (my daughters level). You would think they would have some sort of This place was just bad. We were in town and found this place. It's perfect for a rainy day. Prices are online and it's all day access. Which is nice bc a lot of kids gyms have a 2 hour or so limit. We were able to actually leave and have lunch, then come back. We stayed 4-5 hours. My kids loved it. There's a ton for them to do and they didn't get bored. I really liked how adults were allowed on most of the attractions too. The staff is extremely friendly and despite these previous reviews, I thought they kept the facility very clean. Yes, some things are not the prettiest but it's a kid gym where parents let their kids do what they want. The employees can only take care of equipment to an extent. Hyperkidz has gone downhill pretty quickly. Multiple sections are broken or in disrepair and have been so for the past several months. 1. The dolphin carousel: kids are pretty rough on this so guess what happened - it fell out of alignment and now must rely on someone to push it manually. 2. The suction tubes in the ball pit area: these have been in need of repair for over a year. It used to be that you could use your hands to cover up the hole so the balls get sucked up. There are two and neither works even doing that. That renders the whole pulley and maze/path unusable. 3. The ball blasters: one works but there are 7 that don't. All these balls go missing too and even the broken ones are stuffed with ball pit balls that clearly are too big to be shoved in there. 4. The ball hover thing: real technical, but this is the thing that should shoot out air and if you put a ball on top the ball rises. I'm not sure this has ever worked. 5. Balloon "room": not so much broken but there's no balloons. I know this is meant for balloons due to the big fans and the same exact setup at Jolly Yolly Kids, which does contain balloons. 6. Glow sticks/ice cream truck : missing all but 6-8 glow sticks and no play food in the truck. 7. Block area-this is where my son loves to play most but these are so gross! Every block has been bitten many times. They do have a new feature but only for older kids. It's a tall mountain climb with a rope and at the top is a slide, but instead of building new things, the should repair the many features in desperate need of TLC. Hyperkidz used to be over favorite spot and worth the 50 minute drive but there is no way to justify the drive and the price, which has increased despite the quality of the facility going so downhill. read more

This place gets five stars for the amount of fun it provides kids. However, waivers, birthday organization, and security is lacking. For example, any kid that plays here should have a waiver. No one even asked us if we had signed one or even mention it for that matter. We advised we were there for a birthday and they didn't even ask which one and just handed us wristbands. I understand this could be a staffing issue, but with the amount of money this place takes in per kid they need to hire more help if they can't handle weekend crowds. We paid for one of our kids who wasn't part of the birthday party but they didn't even bother to ask - I'm sure they lose money from people all the time that take advantage of them being overwhelmed. Security is another concern here because there are several exits and no alarms on the secondary doors. They don't even check in parties to know which kids belong to which adult - this is as simple as stamps like Chuck-E-Cheese does. So while it's a great place for the kids and they have a blast, there is definite room for improvement here. read more

Hyper Kidz definitely needs an update. They began to do renovations, but sadly money has become more important than safety. The last time we went there nails all over floor and they were deconstructing a section there while open. So two sections were closed and I still paid the usual price for the day. When asked for a refund to hopefully come back after renovations finished, they didn't give one. read more

It's been a few years since our initial visit here. We thought we'd give it another try playing here now that our kids are older. And wow....a much better experience for all of us! Initially it looked ok, once we got there with kids 18 months old the toddler kiddie section did not have appropriate items. There was a dome to climb that was very steep and looked like a broken neck accident waiting to happen. The climb section parents couldn't fit in to help. A kid had a bloody mouth, no parent to be found walked EVERYWHERE, the workers did not expedite cleaning!!!!! It was awful with 80+ people there, so much to say being that it was BLOOD and they did not seem to care when more than 3 parents came to make staff aware. It was in well over 2 sections where this kid waled. The bathrooms were not clean. Can't say it looked very clean throughout the play areas. Not going to go back. read more

It's a little expensive, but worth it especially on week nights if your kids need to get energy out and you need a moment to just sit and read or whatever. Most of these indoor playgrounds need constant parent supervision to keep the kids from getting hurt, but HK has plenty of netting, railing, and padded surfaces everywhere that it's virtually impossible for your kid to get hurt. I feel much better letting my kids roam here than somewhere like SkyZone, and they really love this place. I love that it's divided into sections by age group, though no one really enforces it, it at least ensures there's something for everyone. The beach ball and dolphin carousels are a favorite, my girls will ride them for literal hours. Best of all the place is super clean. I've seen workers individually sanitizing blocks and toys, and the place always looks spotless. Unfortunately they do have HUGE upcharges on snacks and drinks, which of course the kids always want. read more

This place is absolute fantastic! Our son is a year and a half old, and he absolutely loves this place! It's a child's paradise! Everything is well laid out and padded and protected, as well as super colorful! There are plenty of kids to play with, and so many sections and areas to explore. I really want to like this place every time I go but it just falls short. We were there for a birthday party on a weekend and it was SOO busy! I'm not sure what their limit is on kids in the play areas but the kids weren't even able to enjoy half of the play area due to the amount of people. I've been to the Hyper Kidz in Columbia and this one isn't as well organized. I was expecting staff to supervise certain areas to ensure safety but nowhere were they stationed. Kids were walking up slides as others went down them. Small kids stayed in the ball pit as bigger kids slid down, knocking them over. Kids that were too big for the little kid area were taking over those spaces. Ultimately, I didn't feel as safe here as I did at Columbia. I was very disappointed. read more

(1) Privacy - There is no way to register children without providing a lot of personal information and contact info to the company's electronic database. No way to safeguard privacy with paper, have to trust their likely poorly protected network. (2) Electronic Security - Could not accept cash payments when I was there. So beware if this is important to your family, must pay by credit card and give away financial data. (3) Physical Security - Walked right in and nothing to stop access to children except a front desk person who didn't notice we were there. In the era of gun violence being daily occurrence in this country, totally creeped me out the lack of physical security. (4) Price - Not sure it was worth it to pay $34 for two kids for 90 minutes! Took the family over on a rainy day. The Good: Kids had a lot of fun and the equipment was safe and elaborate enough that it didn't get stale/boring. Staff were pretty nice and the areas are kept clean. The Not Good: Lack of security in terms of preventing kids from being taken by someone other than their parent. It's a pretty short distance to the front door with no security or parent/child verification, not to mention the door to a backroom left open. Also, the music is WAY too loud. There were some announcements made over the speaker, but I couldn't hear a thing. Even if you're vigilant and off your phone, you can lose track of your kids and that's another thing to worry about that no parent asked for. Hyper Kidz in Ashburn is one of those businesses that was opened with much attention and fanfare, only to be followed by completely inadequate funding of ongoing maintenance, repair, cleaning, and staffing. The result is a place that becomes shabbier with every visit, to the point of including feces tracked across the play area on our last visit (more about that later). The list of broken or malfunctioning equipment grows with every visit, most of it poorly roped off so it can still be accessed by children. Additionally, there is an increasing quantity of smashed/unusable ball pit balls, and every play foam block has teeth marks or outright bitten off sections. Yuck. The center is staffed by teenagers/early 20s somethings more devoted to their phones than their job descriptions or the overall management of the place. In response to the previously mentioned feces incident, two teenagers appeared out of nowhere with a broom, spray bottle, and rag to clean a bit, then disappeared immediately (perhaps to their phones in the back room?) It would have been nice if these employees had continually roamed the play area to pick up used Band-Aids, lost socks, trash, damaged balls/foam blocks; sprayed/wiped down tacky, heavily touched surfaces; monitored for feces/vomit; and managed the trash and cleanliness of bathrooms. Also, there does not appear to be regular, deep cleaning of the climbing structures to wipe down surfaces and clean out dirt, trash, used diapers (?) that collect in the crevices. Although safety rules are posted, since staff does not monitor the play area it is a bit of the Wild West, especially when caregivers devote themselves to their phones instead of their charges. The play area works best when it is treated like a public playground, where caregivers actively monitor their charges and work together to create a fun, safe, and civil play environment. If you do visit this location I recommend going during low-volume times which are probably weekday mornings of nice weather days when school is in session. I do hope Hyper Kidz addresses these issues. It's a bit ironic to have just moved through the cleaning/hygiene mania of Covid, only to have a business create this petri dish for our children. read more

The ambiance of this place is great. I love how open the gym is and not clutter I can always keep an eye on my children.

They have zero security measures. Kids can enter without an adult, and leave without one. No one in staff watches or cares. The manager said the they used up all the bands (clearly a lie). Spoke to a few parents in side that have been there a few times; they never had them bands or some way to prevent kids leaving with the grown up they came with (or any). This is how children can get kidnapped. I'm aware that parents should be responsible for their kids whereabouts, but you'd think a business would consider some risk mitigation measures other than a manager walking around with a stick and constantly checking his phone in the corner. read more

It's a very cute place for children, love the bright colors of this place and the coffee station for the grown ups! I brought my 15 month old daughter for the first time and she had a good Time. There is a designated play area for children 2 years and under.. however, I see bigger kids playing in this area which makes it dangerous for smaller children. I was scared that the older children would bump or hurt my daughter because they are not aware of how rough they can be when jumping and going from one place to the other without caution. I think this area in particular should be restricted from older children, is not safe for babies when older children are around. If it says for kids under 2 , we'll it should be that way. The other issue for me was the bathroom, toilets clogged and trash cans filled with too many dirty diapers, stinky smells in the bathroom and also in the small Mom room they have. Looks like they didn't change the trash cans the entire day for them to be so full. They should definitely try to do more Bathroom cleans ups throughout the day. Overall is a good place for parents and children. I just think those things need to be addressed and changed. read more

Will not recommend doing a party here. 1. We asked for a specific room and last minute we were told that we have another room. 2. The pizza slices are too small. We assumed 2 full slices for each kid but it's like 2 1/4th slices. 3. The morning of the event we called and asked if we can add more pizzas. The female on the phone laughed and said no. They could have updated the order that morning . Also they were ok for our guests to have less food. We were so embarrassed in front of everyone. 4. Don't order the food trays. They are worth 30$ and in actual they are too small and worth 10$. 5. They don't let you get food from outside nor are flexible with it. 6.
