The food at this restaurant is absolutely fantastic. The Enchiladas we soft and so flavorful. It was more food than I could eat. I saved the rice and beans afterwards because it was so good. And the Tacos al Carbon were amazing!! Literally the best we've ever had - including at some of the best NY restaurants. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that it took almost an hour to get our food. We came New Year's eve for lunch so it became busy, but I wish the management had planned better and not just had one server (later they added a second). Def eat here! read more

Found this restaurant being blocked by the WaWa. Immediately when we entered, we were greeted ands seated immediately. It was right when they had opened so that's the main reason for the little traffic. The decorations were nice and colorful and the music was perfect. It was a good mix of classical and modern day music. Everything was very clean. The food was fresh and delicious. My wife liked the idea that the lengua was cooked then grilled. The ceviche was very fresh. The cheese stayed melted and the "cheese pull" was a 9 out of 10. The steak was perfectly seasoned and super tender. The burrito filling was a good balance and stuffed with meat. This restaurant ensures that the protein out-weighs the veggies and not too many places do that. This was highly awesome and, not to mention, filling. We had a couple of cervesas but they didn't have it in a draft; bottle only. I also ordered the margarita w/ cononita and a passion fruit Mojito. The mojito was freshly made and strong . Just gotta drink it fast because of the paper straw . Overall, I will definitely be coming back for the amazing food... AND THE DRINKS! read more

I have two rules for TexMex, or South American restaurants. 1, Salsa has to be good 2. the guacamole has to be good So, check and check on that initial list. Both were excellent! The chips were also good! For meals, you have to always consider both the overall flavor but also what is included. Rice was well prepared and tasy. beans were the way i love them. Expectation: Casual, down home Mexican lunch with a side of margaritas. We got: This is such a little gem. I swear we are served in under ten minutes every single time! We constantly pass this restaurant and finally decided to try it out. Deep regrets and I definitely do not recommend. We went for dinner so it was practically dead, maybe 2 other tables were in use. Nonetheless, the service was slow to the point my spouse had to look for the waiter for the check because he did not really check the table at all. The food was mid. My spouse had a chimichanga fajita? I guess and he really liked it overall. I ordered the carne asada and it was okay... the portions for the price were small though, definitely had room in our stomach for dessert. Anything with a chip involved was stall. Their chips were stale, the crackers were stale, the tostada was stale. The appetizers were ok, I was looking forward to the ceviche but it tasted watered down-along with the guacamole. Overall we paid close to $100 ($98 to be exact) for mediocre food and mediocre service. Restaurant is out of their mind charging so much per plate. The ambiance at least was really nice, quiet, dark. The staff overall were also really nice. We definitely will not be going back though and I recommend people look for a different Mexican restaurant if that's what they are craving. read more

The waitress was serving the entire place on her own which meant she didn't want to wait for me to ask the wife if she wanted a dessert when the waitress asked the question... I started asking "do you want..." and the waitress turned and hurriedly walked off! It spoilt the meal as I felt I was being rushed! Cost was $33.00 (included tip and tax) Both were very good but I especially liked the steak because it was an actual thin steak well seasoned and sliced into strips. Four rating instead of five because no shredded cheese included and overall portions were slightly on the small size. Rice and bean sides were excellent. Initially we had been getting fairly consistent food from take out. The meat was cooked well and tasted good, but these past few months it seems like something has changed. The chicken is dry and the food is not as fresh. I'm wondering if it has something to do with staffing issues due to COVID to but I'm unsure. The horchata is also crazy sweet. read more

We frequently go into this restaurant and I am always left wondering how is it more people do not know about this hidden gem. Then I realize that is what it is a hidden gem because people don't walkway talk about their phenomenal experiences at places. So bad on me that I have not shouted from the rooftops. We frequently order lunch from here for work, and we are never disappointed. Now the restaurant has a drawback--an extensively good menu that makes it hard to choose what to get, but you can never go wrong. Everything I have gotten has been delicious and great portions; everything anyone else has ordered they have loved. (They have also converted to die hard fans of this place.) From fajitas to pollo enceballdo to salads, each meal is deliciously layered with flavors. The sauces here are incredible in the enchiladas. The people who run this establishment do so with a smile and they are always focused on you as a customer. From when I have picked up take out to sitting down to eat, they treat you as a person not a customer. They don't try to rush you, but always check in with a how are you doing and mean it when they ask. If you have a question or a request, they gladly answer or accommodate for your needs. Inside the restaurant the tables are nicely spaced apart, which gives you room to have a conversation with your table mates. Good little spot. The service was great and friendly. The salsa was nice and chunky, made fresh. The steak ranchero was good and had a nice spice to it. Meaning my mouth was not on fire, but it did warm me up from the cold. It had shrimp on it, which wasn't in the description and not a plus for me. The beans were delicious & the rice was rice. I had no idea what to expect when I walked into this hole-in-the-wall restaurant, but my friends and I were absolutely astounded at how delicious it was! Santa Rosa prepares a variety of delectable Mexican foods (AND margaritas, I must add). I ordered the seafood chimichanga and was pleasantly surprised at the amount of food that came with it. The chimichanga itself stretched across the plate and also included sides of rice, re fried beans, pick de Gallo, sour cream, and guacamole. The margaritas were strong and refreshing. I will say that this place can be a bit on the pricey side depending on how much you usually expect to pay for Mexican food. My chimichanga was about $15, but as I mentioned, it came with a significant amount of food that filled me up by the time I was ready to go. read more

I've been to Santa Rosa three times now since moving to this area. Our first time was all right. The service was relatively quick and the food was decent, bu looking back on it now I realize it was more just so that we were hungry. The second time was abysmal. I'm not a snobby yelp guy and I don't usually leave reviews unless I really think that I should warn people before going to a restaurant. The second time we were there was a little bit later at night and there's only a few people there. One of the families there had a child that just ran around the restaurant screaming and yelling. I understand that this can happen with children but the fact that they were never once asked to at least try and calm the child down or perhaps take him outside as he was obviously overstimulated and just ignored him for a good hour was extremely upsetting. Our food took a long time to get out even though we are there with like only two other people. I wanted a sex on the beach because I was craving it and I believe it was at least nine dollars. What I got was basically blue dye and 90% alcohol. It tasted bad, not at all what a good mixed drink should taste like. When I politely asked for another drink or a refund, The man who I assume is the manager as he's always been the one who's always there and seems to give the orders on the place was very belligerent with me and told me "this is just how I make them " Seeing as how I wasn't being rude at all this is just really unpleasant. I don't really remember much about the food that night which I think speaks for itself. We decided to try a third time after I looked at the reviews on yelp and saw mainly good ones and we are really craving Mexican food. It's also pretty close to our house and I was hoping that maybe last time was just a fluke because it was a bit later at night. I don't think it was a fluke. Our chips were delivered stale. Never once where we asked if we want to water refills. When ordering something that came with sour cream I asked for the sour cream to be on the side and he gave us a bunch of extra sour cream and then charged us is fwhich was just a really skeevy to do. The food once again was not that great. Nachos were soggy, the shrimp quesadilla Was more cheese than shrimp, and once again the mixed drinks were subpar. This review is a bit long but I figured it's best to give details. It's not the worst place I've been to, but the service is just bad, And your food is nowhere near as good as it should be for the price you pay. Also, their social distancing techniques were non existant. People were sitting next to each other at tables that were only a foot apart and we were seated next to a large party of at least 12 people with nothing barricading us and that foot of space between us. Me and my fiancé are both vaccinated but I think we would've just left immediately if we weren't. read more

Great place, I hope more people find out about it. My boyfriend and I started going here just for carry-out anytime we were craving Spanish foods. We sit at the small bar in the back (only a few seats) and drink top-shelf margaritas for an awesome price, eat chips and salsa, and wait for our food. We've tried a lot of different items from the menu, including nachos (my go-to), some burritos, enchiladas, quesadillas, etc. The quesadilla was simple, and I probably wouldn't get it a second time, but everything else has been awesome.
