Casa Rico delivered one of the most satisfying breakfasts I've had in a long time. The huevos rancheros were excellent -- balanced, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Every component felt intentional, from the tortillas to the refried beans, and it all came together in that comforting, "this is how it's supposed to taste" way. And the coffee? Easily some of the best I've had anywhere. Rich, smooth, and strong without being harsh. It's the kind of cup that makes you pause for a second because it's that good. Highly recommend stopping in if you're anywhere nearby. Casa Rico nails the essentials and makes breakfast feel like an experience worth seeking out. We decided to give their breakfast a try this past Sunday. After looking over the menu we both decided to try the Chilaquiles. We had watched a couple of Youtube cooking videos about Chilaquiles recently and wanted to try them. I've never had them and didn't know what they were until we discovered the dish online. Turned out to be quite delicious. I had expected the dish to be saucier, but it was still worth it. We were both quite full afterward. We chose scrambled eggs as a topper. My wife had verde sauce, I had the red sauce. Both tasted great :-). Honestly... the food here really hit the spot for me. This might've been one of the best FRIED fish tacos I've ever eaten outside of Seven Lives in Toronto. We came in on a Sunday after walking the mountain trails just a few miles away. We had a great experience. The service was excellent. Our server was extremely nice and attentive (as was our hostess) and the food came out piping hot in a short amount of time. My favorite item was definitely the chicken tamale, though. Saturday night is for dining out. Well, it is for us! The house of Rico (casa being Spanish for house) was a Mexican restaurant we had yet to try. Well, until yesterday, and we should have gone before yesterday. The salsa was very good. That is critical for me in particular! We did get an appetizer, which is rare when, well, you get salsa and chips! 1. The carne asada was amazing. 2. The 3-in-one combo was pronounced as good, but it was too much food! 3. A friend and I tried the new breakfast at Casa Rico this morning. My husband and I LOVED Tex Mex breakfasts when we were in San Antonio but have never found anything like it-until today. Casa Rico is now serving breakfast daily at 7am and the food is delicious, well priced, and generous portions. As a stay at home mom with my last kid in preschool breakfast dates with friends are a new treat, and Casa Rico will be my first suggestion anytime someone asks. My friend and I decided to get two entrees and share them. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros and she ordered the Chilaques with steak. Both come with a sunny side up egg but we asked for our eggs over easy and they were perfectly executed-Cooked white, runny yolk. The Huevos Rancheros came with two corn tortillas piled with beans, egg, sauce and avocado. The Chilaques was the start-a mounding plate of flavor! We joked that next time we will just split the Chilaques with extra steak because we had leftovers. The steak was sliced into juicy strips, the sauces tortilla strips with still crunchy. We tried both the red and green sauces, the green was a winner for us! I also ordered a side of bacon for $2.50 and was presented FIVE slices of bacon. The service was perfectly attentive, our coffee and tea were always full. The restaurant was clean and well lit. Our meal was less than $35 for both of us which is a steal for the quantity and quality. I found myself in the area and this place was the place we chose for lunch. The restaurant itself is quite clean and well designed. It looks like it could handle a fair amount of people during a rush. We came in on a Sunday afternoon, and it was dead and fairly cavernous. The food, was not bad. It is tex mex and to be honest, a little uninspiring. We got the guacamole and it was very plain and didn't have much flavor to it. The salsa that came with the food was generic, but not bad. I ordered the combination that consisted of a barbacoa burrito, chicken tamale and chicken flautas. The Barbacoa had an interesting flavor. The chicken tamale was decent but the Flautas felt underdone a little. As a fried item, i felt it was pretty soggy, but the taste was okay. Bottom line, its not a bad Tex-Mexican place. Its just not very special. I didn't find anything here that stood out. As I said, it was good for what it was, but unfortunately, these kind of mexican restaurants are all over the place. I feel that you need to really stand out on at least something. I would not go out of my way to eat here, but if you're in the neighborhood like we were, its not the worst thing you can do for a meal. I've been here twice, once for in-house dining and once as takeout. My dining-in experience about six months ago (May 2022) was pretty good. The ingredients were fresh, cooked right, nicely seasoned. Takeout earlier this week (Nov 2022) was a $75 order for three. Guacamole used unripe avocado and got thrown out after one bite. Salsa was just chunks of tomatoes with no flavor. Chili relleno was overly salted and also got thrown out after one bite. So, one good, one bad, average = meh. Does it get a third chance? Yep. One bad meal is not enough for me to walk away. Every year my hubby and I make our annual Christmas shopping trip to Boscov's. Casa Rico is part of the trip. The food has always been delicious. Today hubby had the California Burrito and I had the Chicken Fajita quesadilla. Both were excellent! The guacamole and queso were equally good. Netty, our server, said they were under new management. I can say this was the best experience in all of our trips so far. His service level was on point as he was polite, informative and checked the table effectively. The food was delicious! I ordered takeout and the employee on the phone was extremely friendly. The pickup was done at the bar area and was done easily and smoothly. As for the food, they gave us 2 servings of chips and lots of salsa and they tasted so good! We also ordered the enchilada platter and it had a lot of sauce, which is what I love! The chicken enchilada was definitely the best option, I also tried the ground beef version. My boyfriend got the chicken and beef tamale platter and said it was alright. The new menu is really nice--less options but the food is even better than before! We had tbt shrimp and steak tacos-- best tacos in the area!! The chips and salsa were delicious. We went into this restaurant as we were hungry, and this caught our eye as we were visiting Frederick, MD. The place surprised us. Our waiter, Rajan was super helpful and suggested what to choose from the vegetarian menu. The Margarita was okay, but the service more than made up for it. Sumit, who also worked there was super friendly and helped us feel at ease at the new place. Overall, the excellent staff and treatment made us relish the food. We highly recommend the place. Sumit owns the nearby Taj Mahal Restaurant which we plan to visit soon on our next trip to this wonderful city. It was Saturday 3pm and the place was mildly full with lunch patrons leaving. First of all, we were seated immediately but then it took an abnormally long time for a server to even greet us. When she came, she brought chips and salsa (which was actually the best part of the meal) and then left for a while. It turns out there were only two servers in the entire restaurant and she was willing to take our entire order when she came back. We ordered iced teas to drink, the unsweet ones were not drinkable. So I found this place using my GetUpside app. Nice enough ambiance and a welcoming staff. Place is unassuming from the outside. I got the classic margarita on the rocks and it was really good. The chips and salsa are just ok. I had to get a bowl of queso which isn't the real kind. It was gooey not chunky like i like. So I got the beef enchiladas and they were really good. Do yourself a favor, and do not order the "Carne Asada" that meat its nothing but nerves, and if you tell them about that, they said they can't do a thing because that's the type of meat they use for carne asada, (what a customer service) which let me tell you its the wrong cut, carne asada is to be made from the beef thin skirt cut, they use a very thick part of the cow with nothing but nerves on it. Not very good. Mango margarita tasted like watered down sour mix. Beef enchiladas ended up making me sick (I ordered 2 and only ate 1). Tasted like straight oil. My friend ordered the Carne Asada and couldn't eat it. She explained it wasn't easy to cut and wasn't the type of carne asada she thought she ordered. They threw it on two tortillas essentially making it a soggy meal. I probably wouldn't come back and I also wouldn't recommend. Even the waiter didn't seem to keen on serving us but at this point I'm not bothered explaining her actions. Spend your money on better authentic food somewhere else. read more

This is NOT authentic Mexican food! The fish taco, albeit free with check in, was not worth the time or effort! It had a strong fish taste and it was lacking in flavor! When we first presented the yelp offer we were told it was no longer valid, it was only valid in August, but when we asked about contacting yelp to have it removed, we were told they would give it to us and they would contact yelp. Little did we know that we'd refuse to eat it after one bite. The other food items we ordered tasted like frozen food that once again lacked authentic flavor. The rice tasted and looked like Uncle Bens. The beans tasted as if they were straight from a can. The steak chimichanga came out nice and crispy but soon was a deflated taco. The steak inside tasted more like I was eating Asian inspired meat. Save your money! Skip this place!!! This place is not worth the time or money at ALL!!! It is NOT worth the one star but seeing as how I had no other option I gave it to them. Hey the salsa was good but that too I'm sure came from a can! I have enjoyed dinners at Taco Bell more than this place! Right upfront I want to mention that the Yelp offer here is good for a free fish taco, but the owner told us that it was only "one per table," which didn't make much sense to me considering it should be one per Yelp user. Despite this minor setback, I enjoyed my visit to Casa Rico. The great thing about this place is that it is pretty reasonably priced. I ordered a combination dinner which included one enchilada and one flouta, with the usual sides of rice, refried beans, sour cream, pico de Gallo, etc. and was entirely satisfied by the amount of food for the $12 price. I also ordered a mango frozen margarita for about $7. The enchilada and flouta were both delicious and cooked well. I could definitely taste the tequila in the margarita and was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion. I would visit Casa Rico again for decently priced Mexican food. read more

The ambience is beautiful, we wished we had some time to had the lunch at place, but as we were in a hurry we packed the lunch. We ordered fish tacos,avacado salad and chicken quesadillas. If I lived closer to this town I would definitely be a regular and help promote the business. It was a little questionable from the outside because it seem deserted but once we sat down got our drinks! Boy, was I in for a 180 on my thoughts. Our drinks were PERFECT, chips and salsa came out and the chips are fried in house, salsa made in house so two and two in house dishes were 10/10!! My entire came out next and I was so happy with hot and fresh food! For them to be understaffed they knew how to service their customers.
