I genuinely don't know what happened here. Although it's been a while since I last paid this burger spot a visit, I now really can't claim I'll be back. They appear to still be using their 50/50 beef and bacon blend, and they were grinding/blending more meat when I arrived. The finished product itself makes me seriously question their palette. While smash style burgers aren't my favorite, I have enjoyed some good ones. The one I was served today was so smashed that any residual flavor from the meat blend was virtually eliminated. This was then overwhelmed by the sheer smack-your-face acid from the pickles and mustard. Further cementing my poor experience, the server acted as though my order was an afterthought. Probably not the attitude one should express towards any patron, much less to start the business day. There are LOTS of outstanding burger options in and surrounding Frederick. Had the double spicy smash burger with poblano cream cheese which was the start...texturally creamy without the sweetness of say a peanut butter on a burger. Nice little hidden gem! The place was a little hard to find but I was looking for a stand alone restaurant with a big sign out front. It is attached to a brewery with a side entrance. The staff were friendly all the way around, inside the taproom and restaurant. I liked my burger but my kiddos didn't. Overall I will come back and try some of the other burgers on the menu. We stopped at Fifty Fifty for lunch today. The food was fresh, delicious, and made from good quality ingredients. I ordered the Fifty Fifty lunch special for $10. This included the original Fifty Fifty burger with fries. We placed our orders through the kiosks, so no human to place an order through. But the food was made to order and we received our orders pretty quickly. The ambiance is very casual. It's colocated with Olde Mother Brewery next door. Theres lots of indoor seating and some outdoor seating. It's fairly easy to get to with street parking. I definitely would recommend coming here for a great local burger experience. read more

We were in Frederick for Mother's Day and thought we would try this place for a good burger. All I can say is unbelievable ! . The best burgers we've had in years and we've been all over the country even in Texas. My wife had the BACKLASH burger and I had the OGRE. The self-serve monitors were user-friendly, and it was very easy to order. The service was very fast too. The ambience of the restaurant is a little odd with all the walls painted black and it is in the back of a local pub brewery. Regardless, we didn't care because the burgers here are simply fantastic. Not to mention the french fries were great too. We will definitely go here again when we are in Frederick. read more

Stopped by for lunch. These are some of the best burgers around. The blend of 50% beef and 50% bacon make for great flavor and crust . This is my third visit. The first 2 times I got the Oklahoma Animal. Double patty, sauteed onions and their Oklahoma sauce. This time I went a little rogue. I got their PBPB&BB 2 spiced patties, crunchy peanut butter and pickles. So weird but for some reason it worked. Burger was half bacon half ground beef unique flavor not bad. They drowned our burgers in the sauces that came on them while I'm glad it was plentiful it was a bit excessive and caused the bread to be really soggy. Everything was fresh and made to order. Cute and fun little place. Actually, it's not so little. It is attached to the Olde Mother Brewing. There is also a small outdoor section. You have to place an order at the kiosks which is not my favorite thing to do. I would prefer human interaction. We ordered old bay fries which was a little too salty. My wife and I went on Labor Day and Fifty-fifty definitely caught us by surprise. The place was very clean and spacious. The weather was amazing so we were able to sit outside and just enjoy the space. You order at a kiosk, which was fine with me. Otherwise the food came out very quickly. Now for the food, this place has one of the best burgers I've ever had. The burgers were extremely juicy and flavorful. Although it had sauce it wasn't drowned in it, but the patty absorbed it well. I also really enjoyed the old bay fries, could always use more, but definitely delicious. Will be coming back again to add a beer to my order. read more

Burger was really good other than it was cold. I had my phone on table and did not know they would notify by text since they took my name. Food sat on there front counter for 11 minutes without me knowing it was ready. I went to check on meal and it was sitting there in a bag with my name on it. Burger was good just cold since it say there for so long. The fries were good to other than they sat there for 11 minutes. What's sad is I gave them an $8 dollar tip in advance hoping to get good service. Instead it was the opposite. A local came in after me and they greeted him and even joked with him. Great place. This place is split with half bar/half restaurant with seatings for a variety of group sizes. The staff are quick and always on the move. I got my food in a relatively quick time. I ordered on their ipad but they also had a counter where you can order face-to-face. I got two burgers and fries for takeout, the ogre and a make your own. Both were really good and full of flavor. The Fries were seasoned well. The prices were a little high but the size and flavor made up for it. It was messy to eat it but all in all I would recommend and would get it again read more

As we walked in, we noticed the really cool ambiance, with a laid back, street vibe. The kind of place to come with friends, but was great for our family to have lunch too. We ordered a Peter Piper, it was delicious (my favorite of everything we ordered)! The pickled cherry peppers were spicy, but not too much so it gave it the perfect kick to go with the sweetness of the bourbon molasses. My son had the Ogre burger which was HUGe, but he said was really good. We also had an Old Fashioned, which was really juicy and flavorful and a kids menu which included fries, a juice box, the burger and a burger gummy. It was so large and customizable. My daughter loved it. Regarding service, we ordered everything through the kiosk, so we didn't actually deal with people, but everything was quick, smooth. For a burger place the orders take a long time to come out. The burgers and fries themselves are super salty. I like salt but I couldn't even eat the burger. The only thing I could taste was salt. They have a self serve drink fountain after you buy your cup which is nice. The staff was friendly but they only serve the food there's no real interaction. I'm assuming that's because it's basically connected to the bar. There was a party of 10 in there and they were so loud it made the already difficult experience even worse. This place makes great food. Excellent burgers with unique builds, and some of the best onion rings I've ever had. I learned early on I don't need a double burger which is the default, I build a single and it's plenty for me. The staff is always genuinely friendly and the location in the back of a brewery makes it really accessible and low pressure for a dining situation. If there is an event going on in the back you can always go sit at the bar in the front or one of the many other tables. I do take out most times, I live just down the street and I order thru the Toast Local app. I typically walk out my door within two or three minutes if ordering and by the time I get there they are putting my order on the counter. Reallyyyyyy not a fan of the pickles. There was a short period of time when they had dill pickles but apparently that was a fluke. Deters me from ordering a burger period because the pickles they have are not good. The other thing is that they do not accommodate plant based burgers for kids meals. I finally made it out to fifty fifty after many attempts over the past year. Coming into it, I had very high expectations of this establishment as it comes very highly recommended. The customer service is a bit non-existent, but that is okay for this type of place. When you arrive there is a self-service kiosk for you to order and it has all of the options on it that you can think of. I ordered a build your own with an order of their onion rings. One cool thing about the kiosk is that the order and status goes straight to your phone via text message. This is important because if you wonder over to the brewery side to order a drink you don't have to worry about missing your food. The food was hot and fresh (everything is made to order). I'm also a big fan of the potato roll for the bun. Their burgers and half bacon and half beef. With that. The burger to me was very underwhelming. I expected a nice crust on the smashed patties (none and just cooked to barely temp) and it lacked a lot of flavor. The onion rings were very good and seasoned well as they were piping hot. Overall, it's a good place to eat but not quite as advertised for me. There are better burgers in Frederick. The inside is very nice and open with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Was quite excited to try some burgers at fifty fifty. My selections were the default 50/50 beef and bacon burger and the default chicken sandwich. The burger patties were thin and dry but the buns were fresh. The chicken burger was more of cornmeal type crust which meant it was hard / crunchy instead of crispy. I prefer juicy burgers in general. The option to select multiple different toppings was a bonus, but unfortunately I was underwhelmed by the burgers.
