Their menu wasn't much, burger was mediocre and cheese curds were greasy, sorry, I do like Walker's food typically.

This is a review of CJ's food truck which is DEFINITELY still open!…read more Our HOA brings a bunch of Todd trucks to our neighborhood. Some are hit or miss; some like Cryin' Johnnies are very good. Have had several of their hot dogs and flavor wise they do not suck. My go to has always been the Chicago dog. The don't use Vienna Beef dogs but Dietz and Watsons aren't bad. They also don't use poppy seed buns so the taste is a bit different. Tonight I ordered two (missed breakfast and lunch - sue me!). I had to order sport peppers (one of the defining flavors of a real Chicago dog) which was a surprise, the celery salt was missing, and the dogs themselves were cold. May have been the weather, may have been the ride home, but definitely cold. Good taste though (did I mention D&W?). I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt because I've really enjoyed them in the past. May update - or even delete - this post the next time they come to our 'hood. One this is for sure: I will eat from the CJ folks in the future.

I found a piece of shell in the broth, and the soup was largely composed of vegetables and small strands of crab. I tasted vegetables like kernels of corn more than I did crab. I also consumed a very good but largely congealed order of Bacon & Cheese Fries. Diane ate a large, elongated Corn Dog, which was fine. No air dryer or paper towels were in the men's restroom, and a cold-water faucet did not work. Also, a gnat flew around the dining room.

The fish and chips (my go-to) was good and ok. The fish was incredible (Cod flakey and great batter) the fries were meh. 2. The burgers were pronounced good, same meh for the fries. 3. The chicken gyro was pronounced good The menu is wide, the selections were all good other than the fries. A great place to visit for an end-of-week night out! The desserts were good. Overall the food was very good I will add this to our "places we will return to" list.

So we come to this place about once every two months…read more We like sitting on the patio from spring to fall. The service is usually good ...but the serve drinks in small plastic cups. I drink unsweetened tea most of the time so I'm constantly waiting for a refill. The good ... the food is generally tasty. The Bad ... they are charging $32.00 for a 16oz ribeye. I know they use Mt Airy Meat locker for their beef. The steak was seasoned well but had a tiny sliver of a bone for what they called a bone in. Also .... The nickel and dining is ridiculous. You get one side. And they upcharge for mushrooms or onions. In comparison... Longhorn service a 20oz Ribeye with 2 sides and bread for $32.79 So I got the Ribeye and about 6 stalks of very tiny asparagus. I actually like the small asparagus but not 6 stalks??? As far as the steaks go ... don't give me the local meat BS or the cost for a small business. Side cost little ... salad and potatoes are cheap. We don't go to this place regularly because of this ... so we end up with a $72.00 bill (wife got a Cesar salad with shrimp) and seltzer water with a lime. Result ... have to make something to eat after we get home. After dropping nearly $90 after tip. My wife and I prefer to patronize local places but these owners are making it hard. I was going to order the chicken wings and a side salad .... But ...$24 for 12 half wings is beyond ridiculous. The wing shortage is over but many places are hanging on to the price increase ... I'd imagine because they think the customers are stupid. Out of curiosity... I shopped a pack of fresh wings at BJs wholesale club to see what wings are going for. The price for an 18 pack is around $8.00. And that would make 36 buffalo wings since you only get half. Disappointed... food that we did get was good ... but value is somewhere close to a zero!

Yes it's slower than the fast food drive thrus because your order is made from scratch. Real home fries perfectly cooked on a hot griddle is a good test. Best of all was our server Ryley working by herself at 7 AM opening. She never stops moving, has a sharp memory and wouldn't let me find the bottom of my coffee cup. The fast food joints are clustered at the I-70 exit if you're rushing through. You will not be disappointed if invest a few more minutes added to your trip and experience a successful small town restaurant. There aren't many like this any more. Just say no to chains and support local small businesses when you can. Thank you Yelp for another gem.

Parking in downtown Mt Airy is always a pain but there are places you can park and walk. Overall it is on the list of places to go to again, but further down the list.

Literally the best grilled cheese ever, I know that's not what you'd probably come to a burger joint for but it is seriously on point. And those spicy Cajun fries are to die for. The only problem is ... rather than running it properly (combo is $5.98) they add your items individually and the system isnt set up to catch it. So instead of $16 and change the meal was $20. I will note I did order a large beverage but the price difference is just 30 cents. And if you aren't allowed to upgrade for 30 cents they should tell you. The food was fine but I think even at $16.50 or so it expensive for their smallest burger and fries. Train your people to ring in the order properly. My other thought... the system is set up to request a tip. But .. you order at the counter and pick up at the counter. So why try to milk your customers for tips for your employees in a fast casual restaurant.
