So ... I like the burger here. Probably the best short order burger. But, they have a make it a meal sign on the windows. The only problem is ... rather than running it properly (combo is $5.98) they add your items individually and the system isnt set up to catch it. So instead of $16 and change the meal was $20. I will note I did order a large beverage but the price difference is just 30 cents. And if you aren't allowed to upgrade for 30 cents they should tell you. The food was fine but I think even at $16.50 or so it expensive for their smallest burger and fries. Train your people to ring in the order properly. My other thought... the system is set up to request a tip. But .. you order at the counter and pick up at the counter. So why try to milk your customers for tips for your employees in a fast casual restaurant. read more

I stopped by Five Guys just for the fries. The location was clean, the cashier was friendly, and my fries were hot and fresh out the fryer. I sat inside to eat, the fries did what needed to be done! It was more than filling. read more

This place was hard to find, but it was a better option than Burger King...so I hunted for it. Traveling west on I-70, I decided to east in Mount Airy since I was too hungry to wait until Frederick...haha. Thursday, 4/14 was the first time ever eating in Mount Airy. I ordered the little hamburger & little fries because I know that you still get a lot of fries even with the 'little' order. It was just over $8...$4.75 or so for the burger & over $3 for fries. The cashier was friendly. The service was a little faster than I expected, which I was happy since I was starving. The fries were tasty, but too much salt. I've noticed salt on fries more lately and may need to say no or little salt. When I opened the burger, I was not happy because they put cheese on my burger. When I checked the receipt, they did not charge me extra for cheese. It was simply that they were careless. I do not like American cheese on my burger or anything. I didn't want to waste time & their food by having to wait for them to cook a new one. So, I scraped and picked off as much cheese as I could. I ate the burger, but I could still taste some of the cheese, and it didn't taste as good. It is very important for cooks to not be careless because I could've been lactose intolerant or following kosher. I decided to talk to the manager and depending on how this went was going to have a large affect on my Yelp review. I explained, and he first said that we can make another one, and I said 'I just had the one, don't need a second one, & didn't want to waste time.' He said he could give me a free burger tomorrow; I said I'm not going to be in Mount Airy tomorrow and it could be months before I'm there again. The manager finally suggested to give a refund on the burger, which I agreed seemed to be the best solution. When he realized I paid with a credit card, he processed the refund request and had me sign, which included the fries. I was pleasantly surprised that I was getting the whole meal free. I'm wondering though if I had paid cash, he would have had an easier time only refunding the burger. So, it may have worked to my advantage in this case to pay with a card. In the end, I told him thank you, and the next time I'm in Mount Airy and in the mood for a burger, I will be back. read more

The staff here are phenomenal. I've been on the keto diet for over a year now and five guys is one of the few fast food places I can order online from. I really appreciate the ability to select able to select lettuce wraps and add all my sides with extra helpings. Most fast food places that have online orders don't have alot of flexibility on what I want in a sandwich. I can also set the time I can come pick up my order which is really useful cause my lunch break is only 30 minutes long. McDonald's lets me order online but they make the food when I get there so I end up waiting. Everytime I pick up from here, I'm always greeted with a smile and a genuine how are you doing! In my bag, my bacon double cheeseburger is neatly wrapped and my sauces are separated in containers. I never asked them to do this! But I really appreciate it cause it's not messy when I get it. This place is a standout from other five guys I've been to that don't have that kind of finnesse in their service. The venue here is also very clean and organized. Always extremely helpful patient and friendly service. Love this place. They've never gotten an order wrong and I've been coming here for years. Literally the best grilled cheese ever, I know that's not what you'd probably come to a burger joint for but it is seriously on point. And those spicy Cajun fries are to die for. I love that they have malt vinegar for you to use (this is Maryland after all) And I genuinely feel this is one of the fastest most accurate five guys I've ever been to. Stopped by this location on our way home from deep creek lake. Best five guys that I have experienced in a long time!! Great place for a quick, yummy burger. Fries are fresh cut, in store...nothing frozen here. Table seating available, typical fast food style, but the tables are clean. Try the Little Burger or Cheesburger, instead of the regular, large burger - great size for smaller appetites. All toppings are included in the price. Only negative is the small fries are really a very large serving - difficult for two people to even finish...but seasoned oh so well :) Located behind the Burger King...but no comparison, so be sure to drive right past BK. read more

Amazing burgers and fries. I love this place and have never had a bad experience here. They always get the food out to you quickly. You can get seasoned fries instead of regular ones and they are a nice change of pace. The burgers are always fresh and I think that's what makes them so amazing plus I love being able to pick from a wide variety of toppings for my burgers. Also getting some vinegar for your fries is really a great choice also. read more

You have to look for this place, esp. since the evil Burger King owners planted a row of trees to block them. Still -- don't eat in. Carry out is the way to go here. The burgers here are hyped... SO hyped... and when something is hyped too much, well, it just can't ever measure up. Such is the case here. Yeah, the burgers are good, really good. But I mean.... they're just burgers, people. It IS nice to have all those toppings available for "free" -- but when a burger costs over $5-6, I wonder what "free" means. And who gets more than 3 toppings anyway, on average? Stick with the grilled onions and mushrooms. Don't pay for ketchup. The fries are pretty good, and a large order is enough for 4 people, no lie. I love the malt vinegar they offer. They need to do onion rings. The cashier even admitted to me, that people complain all the time that they don't offer onion rings. read more

The burgers are great. The fries are great. Nothing else to say. No where else compares to the premium quality burgers. They also now have one of those make your own coke machines. Do not waste your time at this location! I used to love Five Guys but literally every time I've placed an online order to pick up at the store, they have gotten it wrong. Don't bother ordering extra anything because it doesn't matter if you order, lite, regular or extra, you are going to get the same amount, if you get any at all. If you do order any condiments, mushrooms, onions, anything, check your order before you leave, it will undoubtedly be wrong. Also, you should be able to go straight to pick up for your order, but the staff doesn't acknowledge you and if you don't post yourself at the counter, they will leave you sitting there while your order sits and gets cold, if its ready on time, but they can't even honor the pick up time they quote online when you piece the order. And you try to help by leaving feedback on the Five Guys website, and nothing changes. I recommend picking up Five Guys from another location, and forgetting about the Mt. Airy store. read more
