On distant travels I'm always in search of something new to me and sometimes this does in fact involve a chain fast food restaurant something I very rarely write reviews for. Coming here was like why not I mean who doesn't want some fast lunch after a long drive of the options I went with a bacon cheeseburger it was decent for a fast food burger but nothing really set it apart from anyone else very average when it comes to other fast food places all the toppings and condiments came on the side I'm assuming this is because of the current situation in the world as it looked like you were able to get your own before. Our order was done very quick just the way it should be at a place like this but I feel like what we payed for and what we ordered definitely wasn't worth the price as it just seemed kinda boring and un original I definitely know that Roy Rogers would have been disappointed! The best part of the meal had to be the onion rings they had a beer batter to them and were just yummy! The fries we ordered were just plain frozen fries nothing special but hey that's fast food for you but definitely on the lower side when it comes to fries. The staff was nice with my two interactions with them so that's always a plus but that really isn't the reason why I gave this rating in the review it was strictly the food when compared to other chains! Overall I highly doubt I'll ever visit one of their locations again this was just a spur of the moment type of thing and I was definitely underwhelmed when it comes to the fast food that I normally would go and get! read more

I know Roy Rogers isn't the epitome of fast food, but (and don't tell anybody this) I enjoy it. Maybe it is because of the novelty it is for me. Roy Rogers seems to be a a Maryland thing, or in some rare cases a turnpike thing. When I saw there was one coming up and it was near lunchtime for me, I knew I was going to stop here. Coming into the lot was easy. Ordering was easy. And eating it was easy. The inside was busy since it was lunchtime for all, not just me. The thing I enjoy most about RRs is that you can customize your burger on your own. You can top it with whatever you want and as much of it as you want. It's like a mini buffet for your toppings. I believe when I was here they were out of the mac n cheese that day. So I had to go with the old reliable fries as my side. I know there is nothing special about the patty or anything, but it is the satisfaction of how I could top the burger. Coupling it with fries and then washing it down with a cold drink hit the spot. Overall this location was well kept, staff were fast and efficient, food was prepared quickly, and I had a pleasant experience. read more

I ordered a side salad and a 5 piece mozzarella sticks. The salad was fresh and absolutely delish. The mozzarella sticks were a huge disappointment. Roy Rogers is my Favorite Go to Fast Food Place, just wish we had one in Spring Mills area, of Falling Waters, WV.. My favorite is your Cheeseburger but I top it off with your Strawberry Shortcake, YUMMY. The Franchise that owns the one in Ranson, WV, Hagerstown and Frederick, MD run the BEST stores, I miss the one in Winchester, VA. Food was fast, fresh and hot. Roast beef was perfectly thin sliced and made for a great meal. The jalepeno poppers were good, but they had a deal to add an order on to a meal for $1 but they charged us full price for the order. Overall good experience and good food. Compared to other Roy Rogers this location does a good job across most areas. The cashiers are polite and attentive. The food is prepared as expected and served in a timely manner. The dining area is kept clean and the self service stocked. The staff does not consistently check on customers in the dining area. The wait staff recognize him as we arrive and help him order by asking if he would like his usual (number 10, with regular fries and a large drink). Summary: Food fine, service a little slow, restaurant very clean, parking was easy. (My review is of this particular location, not of Roy Rogers as a chain.) It was my first time at a Roy Rogers. Their menu seems limited, mostly fried and meat options, but with some interesting items like roast beef. I opted for the roast beef combo, which comes with fries and a drink. I asked for coleslaw, but the cashier failed to register my order. I then had to come back and ask for coleslaw and it took a few minutes to get it. They may have been picking the cabbage from a garden in the back. The roast beef itself was solid and you get a decent serving for the price. Fries were fries. They have Edy's ice cream shakes, which I may try some other team. And their breakfast on weekends features all you can eat pancakes or biscuits and gravy for $1.99. The restaurant was very clean and coleslaw aside, service was fine and friendly. I'd likely stop at a Roy Rogers again after this experience. read more

Occasionally I am near this Roy Rogers location early morning or at the start of lunch. The staff that works those hours are always friendly, welcoming and polite. Even if it's just a cup of coffee. I always go inside the restaurant to order. Have never had bad service, bad experience or disappointing food. It's always clean, including the rest room. I was dubious at first because the juxtaposition of a fine dining establishment and a Mr. Tire seemed odd. However, my experience rivaled that of some of the best restaurants in the area, including Wendy's and Checkers! First, the unassuming exterior belies an inviting dining room awash with nostalgia. Laminate wood-like flooring and reproduction movie posters call to mind a better, vanished time while the tantalizing aroma of fried delights placed under the heat lamps less than an hour ago wafts through the air. The warm, sultry glow of the neon fixin's bar sign adds to the general sense of being in a cozy lodge. Some of the women were dressed and groomed to further enhance the old west theme, with quilted vests and facial hair akin to the pioneer matriarchs of days long gone. Quite a lot of thought went into the food as well. For example, I was relieved to find there was no risk of scalding the roof of my mouth on either the chicken or the fries. Lots of places today think that hot grease is a plus. Not so. Just a few degrees above room temperature is, in my opinion, the best way to experience the more savory flavors of a pret-a-manger menu without danger of injury. Now, a hefty price tag of $29.84 may make this venue inaccessible to many consumers, but when surrounded by the chic and glamorous denizens of Frederick, this expense is quite palatable. Besides, the syrup ratio in the self serve soft drinks area was spot-on, which is further testament to the attention to detail you will find here. In fact, you could pay a lot more and get a lot less. Five stars. read more

A couple weeks ago, I visited this Roy Rogers to order a breakfast sandwich. The sandwich that I ordered and received was great...a sausage egg and cheese biscuit. A couple days later I went back and ordered the chicken tenders meal. To my disappointment, it was dry, not very hot and a waste of my money. The following week I went back to order a breakfast sandwich and was given bacon on the sandwich instead of sausage. Well... I recently went there to order a couple more of the breakfast sandwiches since the McDonald's that I usually go to is still being remodeled/closed. To my disappointment when I got on the beltway and opened up the food the biscuits were burned like in the pictures below...I ordered two sandwiches. I could not go back to this location right away because the next exit was about five minutes away...So I went back on this morning and showed the picture of the burnt sandwich To the supervisor on duty...her immediate response was "that was taken in Ballenger Creek". I said to her I took that picture here today. She then challenged me again. I needed to explain to her that I am staying at a hotel a couple blocks away and I've been here for about a month and I usually go to McDonald's and blah blah blah and so on. I said to her "do you see what's wrong in this picture"? Her response was "I do". So I then had to say to her I need to get a replacement. Which I should not have to initiate t a true (non racist) professional would've apologized and offered me a replacement. She was very unprofessional and argued with me that the address that is on this particular location is not in Ballenger Creek and so on. I then took another picture. The second picture below is of a food warmer. I took that picture in her presence to show her that the tagline on the pictures usually say "Ballenger Creek". She then argued again with me that she had been here for 30 years... Knows the address... And so on so I left the conversation alone to not deal with her unprofessionalism. She then gave me the sandwich in the bag set it on the counter and told me "I hope this one is better". What a rude and unprofessional person. This is why a lot of people go to McDonald's and not Roy Rogers. McDonald's will always be successful. Whereas Roy Rogers will not be at this rate. I was very disappointed. read more

My wife and I did the drive thru this evening, I ordered the Son of Baconator combo and my sandwich had 2 tiny pieces of bacon on it, that's it..... during the visit the person working the drive thru didn't say a word, took our money and handed us the drinks, almost spilling them then handed us the bag of food and without saying a word closed the window and walked away... we just brushed it off as she was having a bad night and was gonna just let it go, but after getting, home and seeing my son of baconator was more like a Jr bacon cheeseburger we were livid!! 1st time visiting this new store will be the last!!! 0 stars if I could read more

Well got here around 10pm and was rather hungry as we don't have any Roy Rogers back we're I'm from so let's just say I was rather excited. Max was very friendly and made sure that we had fresh everything from fries to chicken to any condiment we needed mind you all this from the drive thru and they close at 11:00 most places hate cooking an hour before closes but they didn't care what time it was and all our food was great. I don't normally rate fast food this high on general principal. However, this Roy Rogers is always clean with a well rotated fixings bar and good fast food. The service really puts this place at the next level for a fast food joint. Every time I go, there are fresh flowers on every table and the people are very friendly. The one gentleman even comes to your table to offer a complimentary butter mint at the end of your meal and usually takes your trash and tray as well. read more

So here's the deal, most of my life I've heard about Roy Rogers, I'm 48 years old and have never eaten at a Roy Rogers, I'm driving across country and pulled off the highway just so I can eat at A Roy Rogers. It takes me 10 minutes to get from the interstate to the restaurant, I pull up to the drive-through look over the menu, and order one of the roast beef sandwiches I've dreamed about for many many years. It's nice that they offer baked potatoes and salads as a healthy alternative to fries. I can easily say this was one of the worst fast food experiences I have ever had. I've lived near this Roy Rogers for years and never have I been so disappointed. I ordered a 3 piece "tender" meal. I quote "tender" because the shriveled, cold, flavorless, excuse for chicken I received was certainly NOT a chicken tender. In addition, the approximate 6 fries I received were cold by the time I returned home (less than a mile from the location) and once again, flavorless. After this extreme dissatisfaction with a product I once enjoyed, I can only hope to be reimbursed for the $6.97 I had to throw in the trash can. read more
