This is in an industrial type area near the Frederick airport in what looks like an old shop hence the business name. Kinda hard to find at first so look for the dog groomers. The people were friendly and the food options were simple but good. Their biggest flaw is it is tight and limited seating inside but was a very friendly welcoming atmosphere for families. Lots of families here when I brought my daughter here. They have some board games you can play while you wait. I liked my pizza and switching the falafel out of the gyro sandwich for a piece of chicken was a solid move (I recommend you add that as an option ownership). I like it. Solid 4 stars. read more

Had been hearing a lot about this place, so I decided to finally give it a try. The pizza is good -- no complaints there -- but I do think there are other spots in the area I'd personally choose first. Still, I'm glad I tried it. One thing that stood out right away was the size. I ordered a large for pickup and the box alone caught me off guard -- it's huge. The slices are massive, definitely bigger than your typical pizza, so you get a lot for what you pay for. I also ordered the Old Bay wings. They were flavorful and solid, nothing over the top but definitely good. Overall, a good experience. This was our first time visiting the actual location and it was super cute! There's bar seating inside and a few tables outside, which is nice. They have a huge selection of beers, but you do have to scan a QR code to see that menu--food menus are available physically though. The servers were really friendly and attentive. We each got a sandwich and shared an order of wings. I personally would've preferred the wings to come out first before the sandwiches, but everything still tasted great. Solid meal! Overall, we enjoyed the 14" $16 Meat and Spaniard pizzas along with two juicy IPAs. I may try making my own custom pizza next time. I stopped here for lunch on a Sunday when driving through the area and I'm so glad I did! I snagged a seat at the bar, luckily, because the tables both inside and outside were full. The bartender was prompt and friendly. He took my order within a few minutes and the food was out within 10-15. I had the crispy chicken cob salad. The chicken was two large, crunchy pieces. They were juicy and flavorful. The rest of the ingredients in the salad were fresh, including the slices of avocado. The white balsamic dressing was tart and refreshing. They have TVs around the bar that were playing spots when I was there. The counter is wide enough to comfortably enjoy your meal and not bump into anyone on either side of you. This was our second visit to The Garage and we really enjoy it. They are a small space, but have a ton to offer. We enjoy sitting at the bar, but they have tables and seating both inside and outside. They're wings and steak and cheese were really good. The wings were crispy and full of flavor. The steak and cheese was perfect for sharing with the wings and is a perfect combination with beer. I saw a lot of people ordering pizza, and it looked delicious. We'll have to go back and try. The Garage has a ton of drink options and caters to just about everyone. This place is back in a business park near the airport. We went on a rainy day so no outside seating but it had picnic tables and a garage door to the inside. Wow! I've complained for years that our local town just doesn't get it on pizza. We have some great crusts but the typical top shelf pizza place skimps on ingredients- even on a pizza designed to be loaded up. Trading 65,000 miles around the country in the last 4 years I've had what is considered the best pizza in a number of towns and states. I had given up on Frederick until we had this gem. It was a little odd walking into the establishment as we were literally walking into a converted garage. However, the place was well set up looked great and had a fun ambience to it so we sat down to look at the menu after selecting a few of us chose some sandwiches and some pizza and fries and ice water and iced tea and soda. We also ordered a smash burger which was equally large and also quite delicious. The show stopper was the 18" Garage Hawaiian! A most outstanding pizza with the right bite, perfect char on the crust, thin and topped with Asian pulled pork, pineapple, honey sriracha glaze and scallions. It was absolutely heavenly and large enough that we only ate 1/2 and took the other 1/2 of the pizza home for another meal. The food topped off with the excellent service really made this a wonderful dining event for our family after coming back from Baltimore, Inner Harbor German Christmas village. Well.. we're not big fans! For some reason, the GPS took us to the Airport Inn instead of the Garage. We were able to ask someone for directions. Stopped here for dinner on our way to Hershey Park...gps took us into an industrial park, it was actually in the industrial park to the left, and actually in a garage! It was a pretty spot but the wait wasn't too long. Our server was super nice and she literally memorized our orders...very impressive! She did warn us ahead of time that pizzas were taking longer since several huge to go orders were just placed. My son asked for loaded fries instead of tots as the app...they were super tasty with the combo of flavors from the feta bacon and tzatziki sauce! My pastrami Reuben was perfect. The rye toasted and not soggy, pastrami was fresh and good balance of sauerkraut and dressing! I requested the salt and vinegar fries which was pretty good too...my son ate most of them! Food is good and the service is always great. We really enjoyed the pizza, the Rachel sandwich and the cheesesteak though bit pricey for the portions. Their beer selection is hit or miss, with some good craft that is mainly local with a couple of other breweries featured. Every craft pour is at least $9.50, despite the same beers as being on tap at local breweries a mile away for three dollars less per pour, and the canned pours are sometimes several months old. If you haven't been to The Garage yet, go ahead and fix that. I walked in at 11:30am on a Friday and 8 out of 9 tables were already taken--that alone tells you something. The atmosphere is great, the energy is good, and the service is on point. Dion was my bartender/server and couldn't have been better: personable, attentive, and quick with recommendations. He pointed me toward the steak & cheese or the smash burger, and honestly, so I ordered both. And he didn't miss. I didn't try the pizza this time, but I saw a couple go out--14" and 18"--and they looked legit. Same with the wings. Heavy, meaty-looking wings that made me instantly regret not ordering them. Now... the burger. WHAT?! This thing is next level. Forget that family of five dudes who somehow became the benchmark--this burger is above and beyond. I've never had a smash burger with edges this crispy. It's wild. Absolutely amazing. The house-made chips were solid too. Not burnt, good crunch. They could use a touch more seasoning--just a little salt would take them from good to great--but I still enjoyed them. The steak & cheese was very good and definitely not your typical ribeye cheesesteak. They use short rib, so it hits a little differently. It's not overstuffed like the trendy spots that are popping up everywhere, but the flavor is there. And the bread? That's what sets it apart. Not house-made, but sourced from a guy right in the same complex. Crunchy shell, soft inside--perfect. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this place. The only thing I will say is because the garage is so popular that adding another bay wouldn't be a bad idea would give more room for tables and more in-house dining. 3.5* Friday evening and this place is hoping. There's a sign saying seat yourself but with several people waiting at different parts of the restaurant it was a little chaotic and we saw a family take an empty table before another family who'd been waiting longer. We opted to sit at the half filled bar to avoid the wait for the tables. Overall the service was nice. We did have an issue with the first pizza we ordered (see below) and when the check came out it wasn't itemized. Guys, always check your check, that was our bad. We paid the bill, left, and then realized we were charged for the food we sent back. Not the end of the world but still a big disappointment. The way the server handled the situation made it seem like things would be covered but as it was never explicitly said that was our bad for assuming. (You know what they say, "never assume...") Overall I'd want to come back for the pizza but I know I'll hesitate a bit because of our experience. Maybe after a bit of time I'll be willing to try again, once the salt and disappointment has faded from memory. What we got: Loaded Tots - 3* we aren't big tot fans but recently tried some loaded tots that we loved and since these looked good we decided to give them a shot. And they were okay. They're on the drier end when it comes to the sauce and we had to add ketchup to fully enjoy it. There was a bit too much feta cheese which shocks my cheese loving heart to say. Overall I wouldn't order them again. Garage Hawaiian - I don't know how to rate this one. The pizza dough is AMAZING (the crust is a dream) and I started to scarf my slice down. But then halfway through my taste buds started processing everything and boy was it salty. Now I love soy sauce and cook with it frequently and we loved the idea of this pizza having a soy honey siracha glaze. But when the sauce went through its reduction phase they did not account for the amount of leftover salt. I think it could be countered with a heavier measuring of honey and siracha, but I'll leave that decision up to the pros. I just know that I couldn't stand another bite. I tried dabbing the sauce off and eating my slice but even then it was way too salty for me. For the very first time in my eating out life I suggested returning the meal. Usually I count a flop as a loss and grin and bear it but I just couldn't this time and felt a bit guilty for the waste. When asked if we wanted to box it up and gift it to someone I honestly couldn't think of who I'd gift it to. I was tempted to tear off all the crust but if you're sending food back it's rude, in my opinion, to keep eating it. Make your own pizza - 4* we got the red sauce, with pepperoni, artichoke, Parmesan, basil. The red sauce was yummy, the basil was fresh, the pepperoni a little burned, the artichoke divine, and the Parmesan on the light side. The dough was just as good as the first pizza. read more

We ended up here after trying (and failing) to find parking in downtown Frederick close to another establishment. My husband is disabled and we are big people so walking a few blocks is not possible right now. We had three kids visiting us. The menu looked very kid friendly and did not disappoint. We arrived and were instantly greeted at the door. The restaurant was busy at 2pm on a Saturday but not so much that we were ignored. We ordered the kid food first (grilled cheese, squish burger, and kid pepperoni pizza). Then we ordered a white pepperoni pizza and bbq smash for us. The prices were reasonable one you get past the $14 kid pizza. The food was all delicious. My biggest two complaints were that 1) the kid grilled cheese and burger came out after the pizzas (including the one we ordered 5-10 minutes after ordering kid food) and 2) the kid portion sizes were ridiculous. The grilled cheese was the largest grilled cheese I have ever seen (but it was amazing) and the kid pizza is a 14" pizza. So I'd say order kid food way before pizzas and make sure kids share if getting grilled cheese or kid pizza. Another thing I always comment on is the furniture. Because we are big people, we always are careful about where we go to make sure the furniture can support us. We had no problems with the furniture here (although I forgot to take pictures, others have). There is a roll up door to a patio area with detached picnic tables that I'm sure are amazing in fall or spring. We will definitely be back. read more
