Peanut sauce is one of the better ones we've had. Not too salty, not too much hoisin, good texture. The Salt and Pepper Shrimp was great! Seasoned just right, perfect crunch, and not overdone. I like to go to hole in the wall places, small businesses. I went on a Thursday afternoon, and it was sadly empty. This made my decision even better because i prefer supporting small businesses. The waitress was super friendly, addressed me with a smile and sat me down with a menu. So I ordered the Vermicelli Lemongrass Pork with a Vietnamese Coffee. The main dish came with pickled carrots, cucumber, onions, bean sprouts and fried onions, and 1 spring roll cut in half. You also get a bowl of their fish sauce to pour into the meal, making it wet, but not soupy, just enough for to mix with the noodles. The main dish was about $17, I thought it was a little high for its location, but the serving can feed 2 people, in my opinion. So don't let that scare you into ordering it. The Coffee was $6, again I thought was high, but Starbucks cost more and this came to me fresh, so the price is justified. She brought it to me still dripping from the press that sits on top of the cup that is filled with carnation milk. Once it stops dripping, just stir it with the milk and then pour over a tall cup of ice. It was delicious! All in all, my food was delicious and filling! My waitress kept checking on me and making sure I was taken care of. I am saddened that the whole time I was sitting there, no one else came in. I do hope it changes! I wanted to love this place but I walked in and stood at the counter for exactly 9 minutes until someone came out from the back to help me. I even tried calling while I was standing at the front to ask someone to come up and help but no one answered. Finally, the guy came up to help me and didn't even apologize for the wait at all. I think 9 minutes is too long. I then tried to order what I wanted since I had been waiting awhile, and he told me they didn't have it. I wanted the combo bahn mi, with the pâté (as a bahn mi should have) and he told me they didn't have pâté anymore. But it was still on the menu. That's why I came there - because for some reason no Vietnamese places around here have bahn mi's with pâté. So disappointing - I left and tried the Greek place next door. It was delish. Best Vietnamese that I've had since my travels to Vietnam in the mid-90's. The family was able to order delicious dishes, and my wife, who is a vegetarian, was able to enjoy a number of entrees. Service was amazing! So fast and so thorough. When we placed our order the waitress carefully went over entrees to ensure there was no meat or meat products. The Pho was amazing! So Good! I wish that we had been able to visit more often during our vacation, and we will definitely have The Pham in mind when we return. I love this place! I drive 30 minutes just to eat here. The food is outstanding, especially the wonton soup. It's so flavorful and the wontons are firm. It's not your typical mushy wontons. The lemon grass grilled chicken is outstanding too! The ambiance is relaxing and the service is great! This place doesn't look fancy on the outside but don't judge a book by its cover. I've now tried to variations of their banh mi and both were incredible. The meat is on the spicier side but enough that a weeny like myself can tolerate it. I was introduced to Pho at the Pham about a year ago. Since then, I have tried others from all over Maryland, but every time I come back to the Pham, I realize why. The Pho is VERY good and the taste has a taste you will crave. I drive out of my way about an hour and a 1/2 additional travel time to get my food about about once a month from the Pham. OUTSTANDING. Lets start with that. We tried them today at Mad Science Brewery in Adamstown, MD. We got there when they first opened up, and it could be seen that they were in the weeds with orders. They must have gotten slammed as soon as they opened up. So understandably, I knew it would be a wait, but from the smells of the kitchen it seemed to be worth it. We ordered 2 Pork Banh Mis, and an order of pork skewers. It took a bit of time to come out, but they were very busy and hard at work making the food fresh to order. And boy did it show. The banh mis were FANTASTIC. The french baguette bread was fresh, grilled, crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. There was a perfect amount of mayo slathered inside. The veggies had a great crunch to it and tasted very fresh. A beautiful array of fresh herbs topped off the perfect bite to the wonderfully spiced and marinated pork. The sandwich was thoughtfully constructed and did not fall apart, yet had the perfect amount of ratio'd food per bite. Writing this review has my mouth watering as we speak. The pork skewers were great too and accompanied by a fresh beer from the brewery made for a perfect meal. Besides a slight wait that was completely understandable (this aint McDonalds get your slop in 2 min folks), the food is TOTALLY WORTH going out of your way for. I cannot wait to try more. Lovely ambiance. One of the nicest settings of a small Vietnamese restaurants that I have been in. We eat first with our eyes. My takeout was beautifully packaged which is very nice when a kitchen takes that much care. The food didn't disappoint. I ordered the vermicelli with pork and veggies. It was tender, delicious, and ever so slightly spicy. Two days later and I am still thinking about it. Sorry, I was too hungry after having to drive home smelling it to take a photo to share. First time here and was floored. It's been about 10 years since I have eaten Vietnamese food and it all came back with the first taste. Completely overpriced, I was hoping the flavor would account for the nearly %20 higher price ( compared to nearby pho places ) but it was a plain pho soup, nothing extraordinary. The shrimp and pork fried rice had "2" shrimps and no pork, I guess they do charge close to $15 for the extreme amount of pepper they add to the rice to assimilate good flavor. I drove from Martinsburg WV to the Urbana MD farmers market just to go to this place. There are absolutely no Vietnamese places that sell bahn mi in my area and i have been craving one like crazy. The Pham did not disappoint! Their bahn mi was wonderful. Very flavorful and fresh. I got the shrimp and my husband and daughter got the pork belly. The ratios of meat to veggie was really good, the bread was a little toasted and held up very well. We also got and order of summer rolls and bubble tea. We were all stuffed by the end and very satisfied. My daughter loved her mango bubble tea, it was smoothie style.
