Pro: food, price, friendly staff, fast service. Con: small parking lot. Went down to Frederick today to look at some houses and then stop here for lunch. The parking lot is very small about 10 parking spaces shared between four stores. Upon entering we were the only group so seating was easy. For appetizer, we had the summer roll and the egg roll. The summer roll was good and the sauce was thicker than I'm use to but still tasty. Egg roll was crunchy and sauce elevated the flavor. For the entree, I had the Large Pho Tai. Price is 15 dollar which is not bad compared to other Pho restaurants in Montgomery county, MD. I always say that you can tell if the pho is good and authentic is by the broth flavor. The broth here is rich & flavorful and no msg used here per the owner. The portion size is decent and staff were very friendly. Very attentive to our need and refilled our water when it was low. The owner chatted us up to a little bit and we learn that this restaurant has been in business for about 2.5 years. The owner used to work at pho nom nom in Rockville back in the day. I used to like the food and service at this restaurant. Not today, the place is closed at 6:30pm on a Sunday so I could not leave a message. My pho today came with no bean sprouts, no lime, no basil, no sauce. I am going to see if the pho has any flavor this time. The last time the broth had no flavor as if it was watered down. Surprisingly fantastic experience at a completely reasonable price! I was a little under the weather feeling tired and had what felt like the start of a chest cold... PHO 52 was recommended by my daughter, I had driven by many times but yesterday I stopped ...and learned for myself. First of all: The staff is very gracious and friendly, very nice ...and the place was packed with customers who appreciated that: Smiles all around. Hot tea, Shrimp Pho, and pork Bahn Mi... The Bahn Mi came out right after the tea... I have been looking for good Bahn Mi for two years here... I finally had one! Really delicious... and the home made chili sauce was excellent. I saved half my sandwiches that I could enjoy the soup... Also delicious. The chef is talented and appreciative of compliments! I was very pleasantly surprised by Pho 52 in Frederick, MD. I'd heard great things about it, so I tried it out on a cold, cloudy day. Tucked in the corner of a tiny shopping center, you probably wouldn't give the restaurant a second thought, but you're missing out! There is very little parking, approximately six spaces that all businesses share, so be aware. The restaurant's interior is very simple, but I was immediately greeted by a gentleman behind the register who welcomed me and pointed me to the only empty table available (a packed house). This gentleman also took our orders. He was friendly, pleasant and helpful. I ordered pho ga and from the first bite, I was hooked. The broth was so flavorful! I also loved that Pho 52 offered dark meat chicken. I've never seen that at the other pho restaurants I've visited and I was quite happy with it. The portions are generous but not so big that you feel uncomfortably full. I highly recommend Pho 52. It's a great place for delicious Vietnamese food! read more

YES! Oh, Frederick is such a cute place to visit. It was cold and windy when we were walking through the city and thought that Pho was the perfect remedy. Lo and behold, we found this spot after walking a few blocks further from the main shopping area of Frederick. And the pho was perfect. My daughter housed her Pho Ga, my wife LOVED her Pho Chay, and I got the Pho tai chin and the broth was just right. I'm a sucker for a large veggie pho with extra tofu. They always make the tofu perfectly and the broth is the best. They have a lot of options and all of their food is great. Pho 52 is my favorite pho spot in the Frederick and surrounding areas. Their pho broth is clean and the bun bo hue (spicy noodle soup) has amazing and authentic flavor. The veggies and tofu they use in their veggie pho are top tier and we prefer it over other pho restaurants. My kids are a fan of the lemongrass beef with vermicelli noodles. I ordered from this relatively new restaurant at the recommendation of my friend who is Vietnamese and thinks this is the best in Frederick. I ordered the soup on Friday evening and the vermicelli noodles today. The broth was outstanding and both dishes were executed and packaged for takeout very nicely. My husband is on a low sodium diet and the owners husband who works front of house recommended the chicken pho. I would say in my life I have had well over 25 different Vietnamese restaurants pho. Out of all of them this was in my top 2 if not the best I've ever had. We randomly stopped here for dinner after snowboarding bc it had good reviews. I lowkey got scared when we stepped inside bc there was not a single viet or Asian customer inside however I am blown away ‍ We ordered the P3, P13, and B4 and they were all so good. My pho ick is when the noodles are too soft but these noodles were more chewy and al dente which I personally love. The ingredients were really high quality, the condiments weren't watered down, and the side veg was fresh. Also they gave us two plates of the veg which I am very thankful for bc I hate rationing out one little plate of bean sprouts. The servers were very kind and attentive and checked on us like five times. Also the restaurant was very clean and had open outlets so I could charge my dying phone. I am just extremely happy guys. The owner was very nice to come out and greet us and check on us. The employees were very attentive and quick to respond. Small mom and pop stop but great food. Pho - made with real oxtail (can also order oxtail) so you get real beef stock. Husband loved this dish Bun Bo Hue - packed with umami flavors so you know they used all the right thing. This place came recently recommended by a Vietnamese friend and they did not steer us wrong. I'm a pretty simple Pho guy; I like it with chicken and not too over-flavored. To put it simply, it was THE BEST Pho I've ever had, getting it twice in one weekend, in fact. What's more, is that it did not lose any of its "freshness" along the trip home (like other Pho tends to do, I'm afraid). Well packaged too for easy combination and consumption (re: BIG plastic bowl enclosed). But because we were late picking it up, by the time we got home the broth had cooled off a bit. Now, normally I would re-heat because, while I don't like things too spicy, I do like my soup good and hot. But I could not be bothered with taking the time to fix this. I nearly cried tears of joy into my bowl of Bun Bo Hue from the sheer pleasure of it. Seriously, for a moment I thought I was back in Saigon. This place is Frederick's best kept secret. I currently live in Frederick but I've lived in Philly, Baltimore, DC, and Orange County (near Little Saigon.) I also spent close to 3 months in Vietnam. I'm always on the lookout for good Viet food and it's hard to find. Some places start out good and then quickly Americanize. I drive to Silver Spring frequently and try every place I can. This place is AUTHENTIC. Small menu but that's ok with me. One thing I've learned is that food in the US will never taste like it does in Vietnam because the ingredients aren't the same. This is as good as I've had in the US and like I said earlier, it transported me back to Vietnam. The Bun Bo Hue comes with banana flower (a rare find these days) in addition to cabbage, sprouts and Thai Basil. You have your choice of traditional (pork knuckle, blood etc) or slices of beef. I also got the grilled shrimp rolls- those were just ok. I wish they used leafy lettuce instead of iceberg so it would have more flavor. Go for the BBH! I'm going for Banh Mi next time. read more

The menu is great and pho flavor is one of the best in Frederick but I not even the onions can mask what smells like a busted septic tank. I wanted to love this new place but sadly it turned out to be a pretty bad experience. My husband placed an online order for well done flank pho and a brisket and flank pho. We got home and open it to find both dishes are brisket only and extremely fatty. There is more fat than meat. Pretty disappointing. The broth is flavorful though! Went here earlier today for the first time and we were impressed. It's a small restaurant (only nine tables) but the food was really good. We started with summer rolls and were happy to find they had multiple varieties from which to choose. Each came with a generous portion of peanut sauce (and the peanut sauce had good flavor, unlike our experience at another joint in Frederick). We also got entrees (a pho and a bun). Both were generously portioned and full of flavor. Helpfully, the restaurant had five sauces on each table as well so the dishes did not have a chance to lack flavor. Really, really good. The owner was there and was sincerely interested in feedback. We were happy to tell her that everything was great and that we would be back. We wished we lived closer but definitely swing by the next time we're in the area. read more
