    Egg roll
    John L.

Pro: food, price, friendly staff, fast service. Con: small parking lot. Went down to Frederick today to look at some houses and then stop here for lunch. The parking lot is very small about 10 parking spaces shared between four stores. Upon entering we were the only group so seating was easy. For appetizer, we had the summer roll and the egg roll. The summer roll was good and the sauce was thicker than I'm use to but still tasty. Egg roll was crunchy and sauce elevated the flavor. For the entree, I had the Large Pho Tai. Price is 15 dollar which is not bad compared to other Pho restaurants in Montgomery county, MD. I always say that you can tell if the pho is good and authentic is by the broth flavor. The broth here is rich & flavorful and no msg used here per the owner. The portion size is decent and staff were very friendly. Very attentive to our need and refilled our water when it was low. The owner chatted us up to a little bit and we learn that this restaurant has been in business for about 2.5 years. The owner used to work at pho nom nom in Rockville back in the day. All in all, I would recommend anyone in the area to give this restaurant a try and will come again later in the future.

P16. Pho Ga - A bowl of Vietnamese pho is shown with a clear, aromatic broth containing sliced meat, rice noodles, and fresh herbs such as cilantro and green onions. The dish is served in a white bowl on a wooden table, with a small plate of lime wedges visible in the background.

I was very pleasantly surprised by Pho 52 in Frederick, MD. I'd heard great things about it, so I tried it out on a cold, cloudy day. Tucked in the corner of a tiny shopping center, you probably wouldn't give the restaurant a second thought, but you're missing out! There is very little parking, approximately six spaces that all businesses share, so be aware. The restaurant's interior is very simple, but I was immediately greeted by a gentleman behind the register who welcomed me and pointed me to the only empty table available (a packed house). This gentleman also took our orders. He was friendly, pleasant and helpful. I ordered pho ga and from the first bite, I was hooked. The broth was so flavorful! I also loved that Pho 52 offered dark meat chicken. I've never seen that at the other pho restaurants I've visited and I was quite happy with it. The portions are generous but not so big that you feel uncomfortably full. I highly recommend Pho 52. It's a great place for delicious Vietnamese food!

Large veggie pho with extra tofu - A bowl of Vietnamese pho featuring rice noodles, tofu, leafy greens, bean sprouts, and herbs, with a ceramic spoon and chopsticks placed on top. The dish is set on a woven placemat on a wooden table, showcasing traditional Vietnamese cuisine with fresh ingredients.

I'm a sucker for a large veggie pho with extra tofu. They always make the tofu perfectly and the broth is the best. They have a lot of options and all of their food is great. I've never heard of anyone disliking a meal from here. I also enjoy this soup as leftovers and love to eat it cold too. This place is my favorite spot in Frederick and they are always so kind here. I probably eat here once or twice a week. Always hits the spot!

Pho 52 is my favorite pho spot in the Frederick and surrounding areas. Their pho broth is clean and the bun bo hue (spicy noodle soup) has amazing and authentic flavor. The veggies and tofu they use in their veggie pho are top tier and we prefer it over other pho restaurants. My kids are a fan of the lemongrass beef with vermicelli noodles. I order take out often from here and the one time I dined in the customer service was good and food came out in a timely manner.

Beef pho - A close-up of a bowl of Vietnamese pho, containing bean sprouts, slices of cooked pork, and fresh herbs such as basil leaves. Lime slices and green chili peppers are also visible, indicating typical ingredients of the dish. The ingredients are arranged in a clear broth, highlighting the traditional presentation of pho.

I ordered from this relatively new restaurant at the recommendation of my friend who is Vietnamese and thinks this is the best in Frederick. I ordered the soup on Friday evening and the vermicelli noodles today. The broth was outstanding and both dishes were executed and packaged for takeout very nicely. My husband is on a low sodium diet and the owners husband who works front of house recommended the chicken pho. Both orders were takeout but noted that the inside dining area looked very clean so I would consider dining in next time.

Small Brisket Pho - A large white bowl filled with noodle soup containing broth, thin noodles, green onions, and bean sprouts is placed on a wooden table. A pair of chopsticks and a spoon rest on the bowl. Nearby, there is a glass of water, a black beverage container, a napkin, and a small plate with bean sprouts and lime slices. The setting appears to be a casual Vietnamese restaurant with wooden chairs and tables.

This is my first time trying Pho in the Frederick area and I absolutely loved it! Service was amazing, the nice man at the front was very sweet and made sure my pho was good! It is a very small area but it felt very cozy. I was feeling very sick that day and this place made my day 100x better!! Will definitely be coming more often Also I got a small brisket Pho and it was the perfect size!

$5 for 2 summer rolls Was literally just lettuce shrimp and wrap nothing else

Food was ok, nothing special. Summer rolls were literally just lettuce and shrimp.... Got the beef pho and that was pretty good. Summer rolls were $5 for two. Super disappointed with these.

    Pho P19. Pho Suon Boo

As someone who travels the country multiple days a week for work I often try to find the best pho, ramen, Thai, dim sum etc... in each city I go to. I would say in my life I have had well over 25 different Vietnamese restaurants pho. Out of all of them this was in my top 2 if not the best I've ever had. The broth is absolutely spot on and the owners are extremely nice and attentive. If you are a pho connoisseur, this is exactly the bowl you are looking for. It's worth a 30+ minute drive. Believe me.

The service is a hit or a miss depending on who you get, sometimes great and sometimes a bit slow. But not horrible. The food. So this is known for their ramen. I think that their ramen is solid, not amazing but good. Decent broth flavor and good chew in the noodles, I personally prefer a hotter broth, but it comes out slighter warmer than room temp (not my fav, but still good). The Chashu is usually good most of the time, tender and not too chewy, there was a few times that it was meh, but most of the time it's good! The ramen, 3.5/5 The Izakaya part. The yakitori is lacking. The chicken thigh should be the most tender and flavorful but it was so dry (how can you mess up dark meat?) and lacked depth in flavor. Chicken 1.5/5 The US Wagyu is mediocre. You can tell that it's US cause it's tough. Sometimes it's tender and great and other times it's a bit tough. Steak 3/5 The sushi. Mhm, the sushi is so expensive a bit overpriced doe what you get, and I'm not sure if it's worth it. Their special rolls are ~ $20 range, but the size of the roll is about the same as their "standard rolls" seems not worth that premium price. Usually at most sushi places their special rolls are larger in size and makes it worth paying more for. Even their standard nirgri prices are double than most places. I have gotten a variety of rolls over the years and it's honestly just okay. Good sushi, but small and super overpriced. 3/5

(My comparison, BTW, is to a restaurant we enjoyed in Ithaca New York that made Kung Pao with peppers that would flay your face from the inside if you dared to eat one. Modern Asia's didn't even tickle, making it a let down). I ordered Seafood Combination Chinese Yellow Curry, a new dish for me. It was yummy. Described as one-pepper spicy on the menu, it had less heat than the Kung Pao, but the curry sauce had layers of flavor. It featured shrimp, scallops, and calmari plus a wonderful mix of peppers, onions, and other veg. All were nicely (crisply) cooked, even taking into account the Door Dash delivery time. I really enjoyed it. Next time I may ask for a bit more heat, but as it is, I hoovered up every morsel. Try it - you'll like it!
