I was very pleasantly surprised by Pho 52 in Frederick, MD. I'd heard great things about it, so I tried it out on a cold, cloudy day. Tucked in the corner of a tiny shopping center, you probably wouldn't give the restaurant a second thought, but you're missing out! There is very little parking, approximately six spaces that all businesses share, so be aware. The restaurant's interior is very simple, but I was immediately greeted by a gentleman behind the register who welcomed me and pointed me to the only empty table available (a packed house). This gentleman also took our orders. He was friendly, pleasant and helpful. I ordered pho ga and from the first bite, I was hooked. The broth was so flavorful! I also loved that Pho 52 offered dark meat chicken. I've never seen that at the other pho restaurants I've visited and I was quite happy with it. The portions are generous but not so big that you feel uncomfortably full. I highly recommend Pho 52. It's a great place for delicious Vietnamese food!

I'm a sucker for a large veggie pho with extra tofu. They always make the tofu perfectly and the broth is the best. They have a lot of options and all of their food is great. I've never heard of anyone disliking a meal from here. I also enjoy this soup as leftovers and love to eat it cold too. This place is my favorite spot in Frederick and they are always so kind here. I probably eat here once or twice a week. Always hits the spot!

Pho 52 is my favorite pho spot in the Frederick and surrounding areas. Their pho broth is clean and the bun bo hue (spicy noodle soup) has amazing and authentic flavor. The veggies and tofu they use in their veggie pho are top tier and we prefer it over other pho restaurants. My kids are a fan of the lemongrass beef with vermicelli noodles. I order take out often from here and the one time I dined in the customer service was good and food came out in a timely manner.

I ordered from this relatively new restaurant at the recommendation of my friend who is Vietnamese and thinks this is the best in Frederick. I ordered the soup on Friday evening and the vermicelli noodles today. The broth was outstanding and both dishes were executed and packaged for takeout very nicely. My husband is on a low sodium diet and the owners husband who works front of house recommended the chicken pho. Both orders were takeout but noted that the inside dining area looked very clean so I would consider dining in next time.

This is my first time trying Pho in the Frederick area and I absolutely loved it! Service was amazing, the nice man at the front was very sweet and made sure my pho was good! It is a very small area but it felt very cozy. I was feeling very sick that day and this place made my day 100x better!! As someone who travels the country multiple days a week for work I often try to find the best pho, ramen, Thai, dim sum etc... in each city I go to. I would say in my life I have had well over 25 different Vietnamese restaurants pho. Out of all of them this was in my top 2 if not the best I've ever had. The broth is absolutely spot on and the owners are extremely nice and attentive. If you are a pho connoisseur, this is exactly the bowl you are looking for. It's worth a 30+ minute drive. Believe me.

I stumbled into Pho 52 on a work trip to Frederick and I'm very glad I did. My god the soup! I had bun bo hue that absolutely rivals what I had in Vietnam. It might be better. Visit this family business, have a chat with the husband and wife that run it, and eat a bowl of the best soup of your life. read more

Pho 52 may well serve the best pho in the mid-Atlantic. And I say this as one who lived and worked in Vietnam for many years! I have enjoyed the pho here at least a dozen times and found the quality of the broth to be rich and consistent and the ingredients always fresh. But also look beyond the pho to other tasty items on the menu. My wife and I also enjoy the bun thit nuong, bun bo Hue and other items -- all wonderful. Definitely authentic pho! We just moved to the area from Northern Virginia, and were looking for a new go to pho spot. Definitely found it! The broth is perfect and the portion sizes are huge. My wife loved the Banh Mi and says that's what she'll be getting every time. I always get Pho Tai and that was an extremely large portion. Service was superb and it's run by a family. Very homey and had a good time chit chatting with the owners. Can't go wrong with this place! They just opened up and we look forward to our next time we will be visiting. read more

I thought this place was good but when I sat down it smelt really really bad. I had to move seats After we got our pho tom and ate it. I went back home to heaps of vomit, I felt so sick and I vomited Atleast 12 times due to this place, I can't look at viet food ever again the same due to the sickness I got from this place, here I am on the toilet with a terrible headache on the toilet having diarrhea due to this place. The pho there is absolutely fantastic, with rich, flavorful broth and perfectly cooked noodles. The quality of the ingredients really shines through in each bowl. Pho 52 is an intimate family-run Vietnamese restaurant that has become my favorite spot since moving to downtown Frederick. It even has parking though I'm able to walk there. The Pho is my go to, but they have a wide variety of food choices, so you can go there often and not tire of the same dish. There is always enough for an extra lunch the next day. The service is friendly and accommodating. The food is authentic, delicious, and well priced. It will become your favorite place, too. read more

Miles and miles above the rest in the area. Small but very clean and cute. Owner told me they took over the old space about 6 months ago and after some conversation I discovered the familiarity with her flavors were because she came from my favorite pho restaurant in Rockville. Prices were better than her competitors and her food also.. her husband was the server and the spring rolls crispy and so fresh! Her broth piping hot and flavorful and the chili oil and authentic huy fong sriracha just made the meal. I will be back soon and often. read more

My wife and I are drive down from Central NY on our way to Richmond, and we typically stop in Frederick for the evening. Tonight we decided to try another restaurant in town, but on our way we found Pho 52, and decided to give it a try. It's hidden in the corner of a small strip mall. So keep your eyes peeled. We ordered a shrimp spring roll, and a pork (lemongrass) spring roll. Both were fresh and flavorful, served with a peanut sauce on the side. I had the Pho (Steak/Brisket), and my wife had the Pho (Steak/Meatball). The broth was very good with just the right amount of flavor. The meat and noodles were delicious. Service was fine. It was very clean. They have only been open for two months so I do not believe the have a liquor license yet. The staff was very polite and attentive. A great spot to eat, that we will visit again when we return. It has maybe 12-13 tables and a take out counter. Good luck to them!!! read more

I'm a Viet person from southern CA so I feel like I have pretty sound judgment when it comes to Vietnamese food. We weren't expecting to find good Vietnamese food in a little corner strip mall but HOLY MOLY this place rivals Orange County's Little Saigon! The bun bo hue and pho dac biet (with oxtail and short rib) were phenomenal!! Service was quick and so attentive. Casual quick dining. Smaller dining area so may not be great for bigger groups. Such a gem though!!! 10/10 , would come back. read more

I used to live in VA where Vietnamese food are all nearby and easy to find good food. Since moving to Frederick in 2015 I struggled to find a restaurant with good BBH. Until Pho 52 I have not found one that has the right flavor. Pho 52 BBH is the best in Frederick, I don't have to drive to VA any more . read more

Seven years ago, she left to become an American Citizen and achieve the hopes and dreams of all immigrants to succeed and share her culture and tastes bringing the two countries closer together.

Established in 2023.

Ms. Truong has been in the business of creating and serving the best Pho for years. Coming to the USA seven years ago she set out with the goal of opening her own restaurant and on the Harvest Moon on 9/29/2023 that dream came true with the Grand Opening on Pho 52.

I still wish I had been able to try the bò kho, but the food we ordered was good and the service helped make up for the initial disappointment.

They know they are going to be busy on Friday nights; lack of staff is a continuing problem which never seems to be addressed and they need to upgrade their phone system and answer their phone.
