Basils were not available due to early arrival (came in at 1110am), gave us extra cilantro instead. Do not need siracha. Simply lovely. Price is very affordable. $11 for small, $13 for large. Small is enough for normal people. Service might be slow but it's an Asian restaurant, that's the experience we expect. Bahn Mi is only $7. Get one. One thing I noticed. There is a 3% service charge. When they run your card, 3% service charge and tax are added together. PAL uses square payment system. I'm sure that an illegal practice. read more

The front parking lot can turn into a jigsaw puzzle and the rear parking lot is relatively tight. Pretty good pho for the Frederick area! The beef broth was clean and had just enough flavor to hit the spot. Ingredients were fresh, portions were generous, the ambiance was nice, and the service was friendly. I was pleasantly surprised by the vegetarian pho--lots of veggies and fried tofu was good. I added a side of shrimp for extra protein, but next time I'd probably just ask for extra tofu. I did order the beef broth, so the vegetarian pho wasn't fully vegetarian/vegan. Usually, when I go to pho restaurants the broth is usually lacking, but this was great! We got the pho and the thit heo nuong. The pho was outstanding- there was no need to add a bunch of sauces to make up for lack of flavor, the broth was already incredibly savory and comforting. The thit heo nuong marinade was good; it reminds me of Filipino chorizo! The pickled veggies on the side were a great addition, and were especially refreshing. Took my Pilates gals to Pho An Loi for their first time last night! They all loved the food so much that they ordered meals to take home for their family to try. Portions were generous that we had leftovers. The girls also love the decorations (healthy plants, geometric wall accent). We ordered the following: appetizers - curry puff and beef wrapped in grape leaves; and entrees - pad Thai noodles, rice combo platter with beef-pork-shrimp, and grilled shrimp. Highly recommend. We stopped at Pho An Loi on our way home from Pennsylvania. I was really looking forward to the bò kho, so it was disappointing to find out they didn't have it available when we arrived. We ended up sharing the phở đặc biệt and bún bò Huế instead. Both were pretty good and made for a satisfying meal after being on the road. The service was also attentive. Our food came out quickly, empty dishes were cleared without sitting around, and our drinks were kept filled. I still wish I had been able to try the bò kho, but the food we ordered was good and the service helped make up for the initial disappointment. read more

Great Vietnamese place. I have gotten both take-out and ate in and was pleased on both times. There is plenty of seating inside for multiple group sizes with attentive and friendly staff. They also package it in takeout really well. Food-wise, the pho is pretty good and will be filling, I've gotten a big bowl and definitely could feed 2-3 people. The spring rolls were also packed with meat and vegetables and were absolutely delicious with the sauce. I also had the rice dishes (pork chops) and they gave a hefty portion that was absolutely delicious and filling, I couldn't help myself from finishing it. I would definitely recommend coming here as the prices are reasonable especially for the portion size. Their prices has been consistent and does not raise prices as high as other restaurant. Their portions are also plenty and consistent. Pretty solid pho place! I ordered the P10 Pho La Cay, which reminded me of yukgaejang (Korean spicy beef stew), spiced with chili oil. Not overly spicy and pretty good portion for a large. I was definitely satisfied with that and a share of the summer rolls. Definitely hit the spot on a cold evening. Typical Pho spot with a family run business that has a great customer base in the local area. The service was great and the restaurant appeared very clean and organized. The parking out front is very limited so you may really struggle getting in and out of there coupled with rosemont traffic. The Pho was delicious with a great broth and was reasonably priced. My only gripe is the chili sauce provided on the table isn't named brand (Siriracha). The off brand isn't as good and doesn't quite do it for me. Otherwise, it was great! Best Pho in Frederick! I am now a regular and come here often! I have since tried other items on their menu which have also been very good. Everything is good here, trust me! I've also tried Pho from other places and I always come back here. Tried and true! My typical order is P10 (spicy pho) and a black tiger milk tea with boba. Literally never disappointed! The staff here is so extremely friendly and attentive. They now recognize us (usually a group of 3 of us). This can FIRMLY be placed in the category of, I would have NEVER been here if it wasn't for Yelp. I randomly had a strong and persistent craving for banh mi while I was moseying around Downtown Frederick. See, I was up in Frederick because I placed a large order from Walmart for A&W zero sugar root beer. They were having like some sort of major rollback where a 6 pack of 16.9 oz was 3.47! And all the Walmarts close to me had sold out. Also: I have recently become addicted to A&W zero sugar root beer but that story is for a different place and time. Let's talk about how I was searching for banh mi and came across Pho An Loi. Their online ordering system was down so I decided to go in and just place an order thinking it was gonna be quick cause it was just some banh mi. Well, it probably would have been if I didn't decide to add an order of curry soup to the order. That's one dish I've tried at Mi La Cay in Wheaton that I haven't seen at other Vietnamese places (or maybe I'm not looking hard enough). But man o man was it worth the wait. The curry soup wasn't as spicy as Mi La Cay's version which I appreciated. And the significant amount of flavor, depth, and umami this had was at a critical mass. It honestly seems like it couldn't get much better. The banh mi followed suit. The bread was delicious, the amount of veg and herbs it had was substantial. AND the size of the banh mi that you got for the price. Like, insanity. If the Washingtonian magazine went up to Frederick, it would surely make it in their Cheap Eats section. When I went on Saturday midday, the place was hoppin'. It's not a part of Frederick that I think I've ever visited, but apparently the local are cued in. Definitely worth seeking out this place. The inside is much more cozy than the outside lends. And, I truly can't wait to try more things there. Let me start by saying the food as fantastic! We ordered the crispy Maryland chicken --- super crispy skin and juicy, flavorful meet. I loved the tomato rice and always enjoy the refreshing taste of the papaya salad and pickled veggies. My husband had the combination platter which was beef, meatloaf, and pork, and my son had the grilled pork with rice. We all agreed the pork was the favorite and chicken came in second. My husband enjoyed the combo platter but he will likely get the pork next time. So I want it to be clear that the food was great and if this rating was based only on that I would give it 4-4.5/5 We came in Sunday night and about 3/4th of the tables were occupied and only two servers available. The wait for placing our order wasn't too long but it was still a little bit of a wait. The food came out timely, however my son ordered a mango smoking (they were out of the pearls) and that didn't arrive until we were leaving. Service was pretty slow, but they were very friendly and apologetic. So for now, will I return? Probably. I'd like to give it another go and give them the opportunity to redeem themselves and perhaps gain one more star at least. read more

I've eaten here a few times and each time have tried a new dish. Can't say I've been disappointed in anything I've tried. This time we ordered the pho dac biet, pho bo vien, and spring rolls. Everything came out hot and tasted great. The pho broth had great flavor. The restaurant gives you empty bowls with spoons and forks for kids as well as scissors to cut the noodles. I don't know any other place that does this and it's so helpful! There was plenty of seatings available and we were served quickly. A really, really delicious place. There was a large menu with many options and it's a nicely sized restaurant with various tables. The parking lot very tight, though! We ended up taking the last spot. I was craving pho sooo badly and had been wanting to come here for years! I ordered the traditional beef pho (P1 Tai Nam Gau Gan Sach) , which has all the yummy things: sliced eye-round steak, well-done flank, brisket, soft tendon, and tripe. My fiancé ordered a large beef pho with eye-round steak and brisket (P4 Tai Chin) with extra brisket. He enjoyed his a lot. The broth was very clean and rich tasting and the meat was very tender. The eye-round steak came out pink, which I loved because that meant the food was served quickly after it was ready. I love a lot of bean sprouts and basil in my pho, and I wish I asked for the sprouts to be steamed because they ended up cooling my soup down way too much. The noodles themselves were okay. The restaurant only has a half dozen parking spaces available, so parking may be tight around peak meal hours. Inside, An Loi has a main front of house counter for takeout orders and 10-12 tables for dine in. Each table comes equipped with your normal pho accoutrements which includes plum sauce, Sriracha and chili oil. Service: 5/5. The staff was perfect throughout our meal from start to finish. My party of 2 came around 12:30pm on a Sunday and we're seated by the hostess immediately. Our orders were taken not too long after we sat down and the food was out within 10 minutes of ordering. When we were finished, the staff gave us several to-go containers for our leftovers and we closed the bill out with ease. Overall, a very smooth lunch service! Food: 5/5. Exceptional pho that cured 2 very hungover wedding attendees! For lunch, we ordered the steak banh mi, cold cut banh mi, brisket pho, seafood and egg pho w/ rice noodles and a Thai iced tea. Both banh mis were very tasty. The French bread was perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside and paired nicely with both meat options. The pho broths we're soothing and perfectly balanced between savory and sweet. All of the accompaniments in both bowls were tasty, abundant and played nicely with the broth. We came here a day after a wedding. Since I have an An Loi nearby that is owned by someone else and not so great, I was skeptical but figured we really need pho so what did we have to lose. This location is owned by a different owner and definitely deserves the 5 start rating. The prices are your typically price ranging between $8-$15 dishes. They offer a battery of bubble tea and other drinks. The service was great! The host was very prompt and made sure we had everything we needed.
