Had a great lunch here today. It was packed so we are outside. Everything was wonderful.

A True Gem of Italian Cuisine! Tempo Di Pasta is an absolute treasure for anyone who loves authentic Italian food. From the moment you walk in, the warm atmosphere and aroma of fresh ingredients transport you straight to Italy. Every dish is made with love and precision. The pasta is clearly homemade--perfectly al dente and bursting with flavor. I had the milanesa and fettuccine pasta with chicken in vodka sauce, and it was hands down one of the best I've had outside of Italy. Rich, comforting, and incredibly satisfying. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food they serve. Whether you're a longtime Italian food lover or just discovering the magic of fresh pasta, Tempo Di Pasta is a must-visit. This place doesn't just serve food--it delivers a true Italian experience. I'll definitely be coming back again and again!

Updating to add photos from our most recent visit. Everything I wrote previously, I stand by.

As you can tell, chicken is overcooked.

Fried Risotto was good. Not having tap water was very inconvenient. I know he has to make money but no ice no tap water are too extreme. Even 5 stars restaurants offer those. Chicken Milanese was completely overcooked. Chicken was way overcooked and dry as hell. Pasta was very mushy. Flavor was very bland.

I was looking for restaurant recommendations in Frederick and I found Tempo Di Pasta. I recommend this restaurant to everyone and anyone. The food was fabulous and service was excellent! We were greeted by the owner as soon as we entered. He asked if we had been there before, and we told him it was our first time. He welcomed us and explained that all of their pastas were made in-house, and they had a beautiful selection of fresh pasta on display. It's a small space with a few tables for dining, and it's a cafe type ambiance where you order at the counter. We were able to take our time perusing their menu board and he was there to answer any questions. When we were ready to order, he repeated each item back to us to make sure everything was accurate. He also asked if we wanted to add any sides or drinks. After we ordered, he told us food would be ready in about 20 minutes. We ordered the arancini ($16; 5 pieces), ravioli di funghi ($19), bucatini nero squid ink ($26), and tortellini ($18). The food was brought out all at once in about 15 minutes. With the cafe type environment, the place is so unassuming. Presentation of each dish was wonderful, and they all tasted even better! The arancini were perfectly crisp and topped with a lovely sprinkling of cheese. The risotto balls were a good size and so delicious, I could eat a whole tray! The entrees were all good serving sizes. The mushroom ravioli had mushrooms in each bite and were served with fresh tomatoes in a creamy fontina sauce. The tortellini was another home run - spinach, mushroom, and cheese - what's not to love about this dish? The bucatini nero squid ink dish had a generous amount of calamari, shrimp, and octopus. All of the seafood in the dish were nicely cooked. I was most impressed with how the octopus was perfectly cooked. It's easy to overcook octopus - Tempo Di Pasta's was so delicately tender, I can't stop thinking about this dish. The staff checked on us multiple times despite not being a full-service restaurant. I have nothing bad to say about this place. Tempo Di Pasta is a hidden gem in Frederick. It is definitely worth checking out. I'll be back.

We had an amazing late lunch/early dinner here. Staff was incredibly friendly, food was *amazing*. We live an hour away and were in town for an errand, but would drive here just to eat here. Highly recommended.

Wow what great food. Moving about a block away from here so stopped by yesterday. Not a lot of seating, very friendly front of house person and the owner? came out as we were eating to chat. Excellent lasagna and porchetta Sammie. The sandwich was not totally hot but delicious. It was so large I ate half and ate the second half today after heating - even better. The last time I had this sandwich was at the food market in Florence - this one might have been better. This will be our new go to - especially as it is 100 yards from our new condo!

I am positive Tempo Di pasta will be the closest I ever get to Italy and that is perfectly okay with me!!!

If you see this food truck, make a hard STOP! Seriously fantastic Raviolis di fungi and just tried the lasagna bolognese tonight... my mouth can't stop drooling even though my stomach says stop. If you need an authentic Italian food fix in Frederick, Md, then you MUST eat here! I'm definitely going to take my crew to the brick and mortar location! The owners are super nice and I'm telling you, they prepare everything fresh. You can taste it in every bite! I need to finish my lasagna now, so peace out!

We have been trying various Italian restaurants in the Frederick area. I have to say this may be the very best! I had their bolognese and it was fantastic. Just what a good authentic bolognese should be. We felt like we were in Italy with the small space, personal service and view of fresh pasta. Yes the seating is limited but it added to the authentic feeling versus the mega Italian restaurants in the area. I am fine with the 20% service fee added because 1) they print it on the menu so I knew in advance 2) the kitchen works hard, food prep is hard work and everyone deserves a living wage. I will certainly return to try other dishes, This is simply outstanding based on my sample size of 1 visit on a busy Saturday night but I have a feeling I will not be disappointed in the future.

It was incredible. The handmade pasta was amazing, just as good as in Italy. The service was excellent, they were friendly and welcoming. Great place for a date night or family dinner. The ambiance was lovely, very cute and charming. The tiramisu was excellent. Next time you think about cooking pasta just come here instead. My new favorite restaurant.

    Italian Restaurant

We found Tempo Di Pasta on our road trip and it is absolutely worth the drive to enjoy such amazing authentic Italian food. It's a family owned restaurant that makes their own pasta and does NOT serve small portion sizes. I wish we would have had room for dessert because it looked so good! This place is absolutely adorable, the service was great and the food was wonderful!

But after hearing good things, I figured it deserved a second chance -- and this time it delivered. I ordered an apple martini, which was really tasty, and the fettuccine Alfredo with added chicken and shrimp. The dish initially came out with just shrimp, but when I mentioned the missing chicken, they handled it kindly and quickly. They let me keep my pasta and brought out a nicely grilled piece of chicken topped with Alfredo sauce. It ended up being very flavorful and satisfying. My friend ordered a sausage pasta dish and thoroughly enjoyed it -- he said it was very tasty. He also had two smoked old fashioneds and really liked them. The restaurant was pretty empty when we arrived, but it still had a cozy atmosphere. The only downside was that staff members were having a very loud conversation in the dining area, playing music, and even watching something on a phone at one point. Since there weren't many customers yet, it stood out more. I'd suggest maybe keeping that to a back area or lowering the volume while guests are dining. Overall though, this visit changed my mind. I would absolutely go back.

The bread was ice cold with packs of individual butter, which left a lot to be desired. The food was very average at best. The bolognese was really just ground beef and sauce and not a traditional bolognese. The spaghetti and meatballs wasn't bad but was just covered in too much sauce. The tiramisu was good but it doesn't taste like a traditional one. It has a lot of cinnamon and was covered in a lot of cocoa powder. Overall, the experience wasn't anything great.

The staff, while is mostly comprised of college age hippies are knowledgeable and actually care. The whole store is very clean and the meat counter while very small screams old school home made!! The sausages looked so good I had to buy some, and after cooking them up with some onions and peppers my neighbors above me who are vegans were peeking as they chewed their grass and had to rethink their decisions on eating food that my food eats. There are fresh made sandwiches that they will press for you and give it that grilled awesomeness that only comes when your doing something special with meat and cheese and good bread pressed with 400 degrees of steel resulting in a sandwich that makes you want to light a subway franchise on fire. Now on my most recent trip, covid is rampantly knocking off people so a lot of the fun stuff has been put away. Normally they have fresh cooked food that you can box up hot and take and eat. The selection ranges from American favorites like loaf of meat and spaghetti to Indian food to soups and salads ( spinach salad is good, the dressing makes it the bomb dot com ) and fresh cookies and breads oh my. ( Public Notice: no lions or tigers ) You will spend more money per item here than Walmart. They don't have as good of a selection as Wegman's. They don't have a coupon app thingy that makes you think your saving money like everyone else. But you will feel like your saving baby seals and once you leave and start to load stuff into your vehicle a rabbit will wink at you in a attempt to say thank you. The lesson here is pay more money for food that tastes like food and not canned crap. Yes, we all like to save money, and that's noble. But there is a time to eat your extra long chili cheese coney ( much love sonic ) and there is a time to bite into a peach and feel like your a little kid again and have wonderful sweet juice roll off your chin and life is once again, is worth living.
