Nasty dirty drink machine.
El Gato _.

The food was really super greasy. Didn't taste horrible but it was not great either. The soda machine was really dirty and nasty. Service was ok. Would not return.

Noodles & Company Wisconsin Mac N Cheese

I have always wanted to try Noodles & Company, but my boyfriend and I really were not impressed with our experience here. I'm giving this place 2 stars only because the food was good. I got the Wisconsin Mac N Cheese, and it was really delicious. My boyfriend enjoyed his meal as well. The salad we ordered was just okay though, nothing too great and we wouldn't order it again. As for the rest of the experience, it was awful. We waited 30 minutes to get just two bowls of noodles and a small salad. For a fast casual restaurant, this place is not fast at all. In addition, the customer service was horrendous. The staff members working were not knowledgeable regarding products or promotions and seemed to not care at all about helping the customers. We had a coupon for downloading the Noodles & Company app and signing up for the membership program. The coupon was for a free Rice Krispy Treat with a purchase, and the guy taking our order said he didn't know how to enter the coupon. He didn't bother to ask a member of management for help and even shrugged his shoulders and laughed saying "oh well". This was totally unacceptable. Overall, the noodles were good, and I would maybe go back for those. However, I am definitely not planning on going back to this location. I would consider giving the company another try at a different location.

*brace yourself for gushy "OMG These guys saved my butt!" review* Ok - I've gotta take a minute to brag on the Noodles Co Frederick (West View) location. Call it user error or computer illiteracy, but when I went to place a massive order for a class of 30+ people 1 day ahead of schedule, I changed the date / time to "tomorrow" but forgot to hit "save" (yes - I can hear the web developer pulling out his hair right now). I noticed my mistake 10 minutes late and frantically called Noodles hoping that they had a lazy shift on duty who didn't start making the order. Too late - in 10 minutes, these cats had completely made everything to spec - a day ahead of schedule due to my internet fubarb. "Throw it in the fridge!" I said - frankly, it was my fault and I deserved nothing more than picking up the food a day later. "Maybe we can microwave it? Either way, I'm sorry." The woman on the phone hesitantly said ok. Not more than another 10 minutes pass when my phone rings again "Hello?" "Yes - Hello, this is Noodles n Company in Frederick. We appreciate your saying to store the food in the fridge overnight, but our quality is more important and we'd be completely fine with remaking everything for you tomorrow." Holy. Customer. Service. And a good thing to - I had to almost double my order the next day anyways. I showed up (early - because I'm annoying like that) the next day and asked to see my receipt so that I could add a generous tip (and pay for the mistake I'd made - because I can't computer). "Hello, I'm the manager, but we don't accept tips here - our staff is very well taken care of, but we'd appreciate a kind word to our corporate office." What?! Not only did these jokers remake every single order so that it could be as fresh as a baby's bum but now I can't even tip them!? What customer service sorcery is this!!? 5 stars and 2 thumbs way way up for these guys. On point, super nice, and delicious food. You guys got good thing going in Frederick!

Penne Rosa (regular size) it's supposed to be spicy, too bad it wasn't :/ although it had some flavor to it
Lisamarie H.

What's up with their chewy noodles? The noodles had a rubber like consistency to it. I had the Penne Rosa, it's supposed to be spicy, it's not. I wish their was more sauce with the noodles to give me something to taste while I chew on the rubber... I would go back to try another dish, like a salad or soup (cause you really can't mess that up). You do get a "bang for your buck" if you stick to a regular sized portion of noodles though, but the soup? Eh... $5 for a cup of soup sounds/looked like a rip off.

Dishes: 3stars...the japanese pan noodle was too dry. Pad thai was too sweet. Spaghetti w meatball was nothing better than what I can make at home. Customer service: 5stars!! Excellent service!!

This was my first time here. The staff members were very friendly. They took their time to explain the menu items and the ordering process to me. They do things in a manner similar to Boston Market. At any rate, I liked the fact that the menu was low calorie vegetarian and you could add meat or tofu as an option. I really like that you could further reduce your calories by ordering the small portion and still be full. There were about 12 pasta options, 5 sandwich options, 4 salad options and 3 soup options as main courses. You could also add a side salad or soup to a main dish for about a dollar. I appreciate that the side salad actually contained lettuce with nutritional value. The only bad thing is that it is located along the walk way to the Regal Cinemas. That generally means that parking will be a hassle and maybe larger crowds during peak time on the weekends.

Food came out quickly and was delicious. Service was e cement and the staff had excellent knowledge of the menu

This is what you get for $2.59?! Sad little salad
Ms J K.

Not bad no good. Very middle of the road in taste and presentation. Thank goodness the customer service was decent.

I like to add chicken to this salad.

The special I ordered (pictured) was easily one of the best dishes I've had in a long time, and honestly every single thing we ordered was delicious. This meal went above and beyond perfection. We got there a little before noon and already had 3 cars ahead of us waiting for them to open -- the second those doors opened, people were lining up fast. They had plenty of tables and service was so quick. Once we were seated, things moved quickly: menus right away, water and drinks out fast, and service that stayed genuinely attentive the whole time. I didn't even get close to finishing my drink before they were already checking if I wanted a refill. All of our meals came with soup and salad, and the pasta fagioli was amazing -- I'm not usually a fan of celery in it, but it was still so flavorful. They also have an impressive dessert menu, but we were way too stuffed to even think about it. Next time we're definitely leaving room for dessert! Highly recommend -- go early, it's worth the wait!

Additionally, we tried a wine cup and let me tell you, it was so delicious.

They also have imported deli meats, cheeses, olives, and sausages. They are even known for their homemade Mozzarella cheese. We entered and felt that the area was quite small. I don't believe 6 adults could stand inside comfortably for long. It was quite cluttered too. We placed our order and opted to wait outside. We were told that it would take 15-20 minutes to receive our order of two paninis. We ordered the Italian (prosciutto, sopressata, homemade mozzarella cheese, and sliced garden tomatoes, homemade basil pesto) & the Sicilian (spicy capocolla ham, homemade mozzarella cheese, sliced garden tomatoes, and red onions, homemade basil pesto). The sandwiches were quite tasty. I especially loved the delicious bread. The meats seemed fresh and the pesto was tasty! The sandwiches got the spot! Our paninis were approximately $12 a piece. I highly recommend calling your order in for pick-up. There's one small table with two chairs... It's not a dine-in restaurant. Parking an be tricky, but there is a designated parking space outside the building.

The cream tomato sauce hit the mark without being too overbearing of either. The spaghetti dish was fantastic. The olive oil, garlic, and red pepper combo hit the spot. The only thing that would elevate the dishes would be some meat like pancetta or pork as a meat and to add some texture. The meatballs offered were in marinara and wouldn't go. Growing up Italian stateside, I never knew about this light, wavy pasta dish. So pappardelle pasta is like some rare delicacy and I love it. This pasta dish is not easy to find unless it has been popularized in the Italian dining scene, recently. How can I explain this pasta? Papardelle are not thick like butter noodles, but instead they are thin yet wide. And at Dal Grano's, they must be experienced to be savoured. Do call ahead, because they might just have them made. Dal Grano's is a neighborhood place. We love how when you are dining, they actually talk to you and are friendly. There are a few other places around Mclean proper which I wish were more overtly warm and hospitable, in this way. All of Dal Grano's pasta is homemade and delicious. It's definitely great for carryout pasta or a diner-style environment with a homemade pasta lunch or dinner. I don't think they deliver or work with any of the delivery services. You just call and pickup. The butternut squash ravioli is tender and flavorful. We have probably have gotten different versions of their ravioli every time. Outside of the papardelle, I'm all in for their rich squid ink pasta when it's made. I don't go there enough to know if it's always available. They have over 50 homemade pasta combinations to choose from and a big freezer case of food to take home. My biggest issue with Dal Grano's is when I see all of the pastas in the serving bowls presented to order and cook, I want to buy them all at once. I know it sounds tacky, but they make me yearn for a pasta buffet there just so that I can taste all of the variations. Alas, if we were in town more we'd just need to go more often to taste all of their selection. There's only one other restaurant that does Italian this well and it's around 15 minutes away in Falls Church. But even that fabulous Italian restaurant does not compare with the amount and selection of homemade pastas at Dal Grano's.
