I eat at CAVA all the time, but tonight was different--and it's all thanks to Ethan. I came in 30 minutes before closing (I know... I'm that person), and on top of that, I'm also the customer who never knows what they want, asks a bunch of "is this good?" questions, and takes way too long to decide. Honestly, I would've totally understood if the staff seemed over it. But Ethan? He greeted me with the kindest, most welcoming energy like it was the middle of the day. Patient, helpful, upbeat--he made me feel completely comfortable and never once rushed. He walked me through the options, made suggestions, and somehow turned my indecisiveness into a fun experience. The food was amazing as always, but Ethan made this visit unforgettable. He truly went above and beyond, and his positivity left a lasting impression. Came here after a friend heavily recommended. I ordered a make-your-own bowl. If you've never been here, think of it like a Mediterranean chipotle. I kind of let the workers choose my toppings as I had no clue what I wanted. It tasted delicious. I had their new honey chicken. It's slightly spicy and leaves your lips sizzling afterwards. First impression is not good when you are greeted by someone who looks like they hate that you are even there. They serve you like it's coming out of their paycheck. Hummus scoop was smaller than a Swedish meatball. The falafel is awful now, i dont know what happened but they are not the same falafels...these taste like a terrible veggie burger. Then I go to pay and the girl seemed annoyed to be helping me. She never gave me my pita and when I asked for the pita that came with my meal she looked even more annoyed. I feel like people like this shouldn't be helping customers. Nobody forced you against your will to work at CAVA. If its so bad helping people than you should find a new job. This was my first time visiting this Cava location. At first the restaurant seemed too busy and crowded but once I was in line, everything moved smoothly. I ordered the Chef curated Greek salad as a greens and grains bowl and the apricot honey cookie. I really enjoyed this bowl! I am not a huge feta fan so when I return again, I will get the bowl without feta. It was filling and all the flavors really complimented each other. I had it with a pita on the side which was soft and tasted great as well. The apricot honey cookie was also delicious! I ate inside the location on the 2nd floor and the area was very clean and it made my dining experience great. My only issue is that it can get a bit loud based on the amount of people there but that's no surprise! With food this good, of course there would be a crowd! read more

The service is pretty quick even when there is a long line. They also feature a way to order on the app and pickup in the drive through. Sometimes the drive through line can get quite long. The design of the building itself is not very handicap accessible. The seating is upstairs, and there is a wheelchair lift, but this doesn't do much for people on crutches. read more

Today was a miss for me. I frequent Cava often but today, lunch was below sub par. I ordered online and felt I should have went inside. Maybe the food would have been fresh. My meal gave me the vibe it was sitting out well before I picked it up when I actually ordered it in the parking lot. The greens felt wilted and just weren't giving me that fresh crunch. I thought it was only a few grains of rice but it was almost half of the bowl that was dry and kept getting caught in the bites I was taking. My wife and I came here for our 4 month anniversary. The food was good, and the price was reasonable, I suppose. Pita chips were very yummy. The ambiance was great - good layout, clean environment. On the contrary, the service...not so good. Little boy serving me had a hickey the approximate size of a dodgeball on his neck. Not only is he a freak, but he also was very distracted by his lady coworkers. I have my suspicions about where that hickey came from. Well we (4) tried it and based on this visit most likely will not return. The fact is the location, facility and overall appearance is worthy of a 3-4. However where they fell short was on the service end. The line team assembling the food was, well not very customer centric. It was busy yes, but still no reason to be short with the customer in front of you. Each station associate visited got worse until the end and that was "Your total is $$" no hello, thank you, welcome, can I get you anything else? Nothing, Nada, zip, zilch. The line was rushing us (4) and to decide from the choices and ask questions (some of us had never been here before) and get looks of "Oh no you didn't just ask me a question!" Updating my review. The food here is always 5 stars for freshness, flavor and selection. At 3:30 many of the the food containers were low. The initial employee that started the process did not smile, was very robotic, did not say much. The remaining process was much better: smiles, communication, appreciation. Cava is like Chipotle's cool aunt. If I've got a choice, I'm always going to her house. It's the same style set up, assembly line fashion where you can pick everything you want (and don't want) in your meal. Their Mediterranean inspired food is amazing, I have yet to try something I didn't like. To make it even better, the Frederick location has a pick up drive thru window! Satisfying food that's not fried in some way and I don't even have to exit my car? Sign me up. Arguably the best part of Cava is that is it always exactly the same. I'm a picky eater and this makes them one of my favorite places to eat. The first time my husband and I got food from this Cava (we have been to the one in Gaithersburg many times without issue) we waited at the drive through window for 45 minutes, even though we arrived right at our pick up time. It was so bad that the line of cars waiting behind us wrapped around the building and out into the road. Then they forgot our pita chips. I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt because it was the beginning of lockdowns and we figured they were just figuring things out. Then we tried again tonight. The food was ready when I arrived this time. But again, they forgot the pita chips. Thankfully I caught that before leaving. Unfortunately, I didn't catch that they left the falafel off my salad and my husband's wrap. They also left off the tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, hummus, and pita. It's frustrating to pay so much for something and have it messed up. The food is pretty good for a chain restaurant. The woman that answered the phone insinuated that I was lying. The Manager said are you sure like I'm stupid. I said check your surveillance if you don't believe me. The manager told me to email Cava@hello.com as he cant do so on his end. This has happened several times before without me reaching out, but its not fair for us to pay for items we don't get. It's a little small but they have an upstairs that you could sit down at and enjoy your food with a decent view. The food is so good it's like so many different flavors hitting your mouth at once. It's under $10 (before tax) as long as you don't get some stuff that you have to pay extra for. I just got a chicken bowl and it's great and healthy.
