My daughter and her mother went in to get two(2)) Chicken Jr. sandwiches with a order of fries and a soda. Girl behind the counter tried charging $19 and change. She seemed annoyed when questioned about the total cost. My daughter told her Chicken Jr. , not regular chicken sandwich. Got the manager, whom a-burbly snatched the bag of fries that they eating & thru into the garbage. After the sandwich fiasco was corrected, had to ask for a new order of fries. Overall, it was a traumatic experience for my daughter. No apologies whatsoever from the management team at this Burger King in Mount Airy, Maryland. While on the road I needed to find a quick place to grab a small bite to eat. I was on my way to Baltimore for a wedding and knew that later that day I would be having a decent meal and didn't want to overeat for lunch. When I got to this exit I checked out the sign to see what was offered and decided that this would be good enough. Pulling up here you could tell that this was a different BK than what the newer ones are. This was old school 90s at its best. Everything in it screamed their retro diner look they strived for. Including the old style sunroom. Of course I decided that a faux chrome table top with sea foam green and faded pink seat in the sunroom to dine at. The food was what I expected, what I grew up with. The bright shining spot here was the staff. They were very attentive to each customer's needs and willing to go that extra mile to satisfy the customer. When you hear about a place that is nice, it's like one of those urban legend things, but it really happened here. But what made me really enjoy this place was that retro 90s diner look. Stopped here for a late lunch on the way home from Baltimore to Haymarket, VA. As I got onto I-95 South in Baltimore, WTOP Radio was reporting multiple accidents on I-495 Capital Beltway and I-66, so I thought I would totally avoid that area. So I took a slightly longer route home: I-95 South to I-695 West to I-70 West - and then onto U.S. 15 South to Haymarket. I've never driven I-70 before. Turns out to be a nice, rural, scenic drive as interstates go. On the way, I realized I had not eaten breakfast or lunch, so I got off in Mount Airy and hit a Burger King. I went with the Fish Sandwich, add cheese and onions, no fries, and a bottle of water. The sandwich was made to order and came out piping hot with the cheese nicely melted onto the fish filet. I was so hungry I wolfed it down in no time. Was good as fast food sandwiches go! Service was good, dining area was reasonably clean! read more

I was at the Burger King drive-through in Mount Airy, Maryland 9/29 at about 7:30pm. I placed my order, and when I went to pick it up at the window, they gave me my drinks. It was at that point I forgot to order chicken nuggets and asked if I could order them at the window they said no. They said I could not, and would have to go around and through the drive-through again just order a 6 piece nugget. No payment, and then pull around and we will bring it to you. That is no a way to treat a customer who they were already waiting on. I took my food that was ready and left. The drive through had only one car behind me. That was the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. Needless to say my hometown Burger King will not be visited by our family read more

Amazing family owned independent restaurant. We are proud to support a quality locally owned business. Their beef is from local farms and breads made from their very own bakery. Im surprised this place hasn't franchised. We are so lucky to have such a great hidden gem in our little town. People outside of Mt Airy have no idea what they are missing. Food safety during Covid-19 rules is poor. Money and food all were handled in drive thru without gloves nor mask. The cashier unconsciously licked fingers to count money back and then stuffed food in the bag and handed it with the drinks out to us. We tossed the stuff and headed elsewhere. Cold food on multiple orders on multiple visits. Be aware, food is inconsistent and staff has shown an inability to satisfy even the simplest request of "no cheese on my burger" I ate here every day for lunch, I won't be returning any time soon. read more
