Out of state travelers and were craving Waffle House. Our first attempt didn't go so well but then we found this location which was great from the moment we walked in. Extremely clean, we were greeted immediately by the busy cook and then our server was with us within minutes. Our meals were great and the staff was extremely friendly and attentive to our needs. There was a steady stream of customers coming in and out. I tried the Grand Slam breakfast. The eggs were fresh, bacon freshly cooked (not salty tasting), the grits are homemade (not instant from a package), the waffle was good! (I like the batter), skip the coffee, and I had a biscuit instead or toast. The server was friendly, fast, and efficient. Only drawback if the look. The floors and some of the equipments looked grimy including the menus. They may be open 24 or long hours and should find time to clean things at some point in each day. Stopped in at the Frederick Waffle House yesterday morning and really enjoyed the experience. I went with the All-Star breakfast with sausage while my girlfriend opted for the two egg breakfast with bacon. The hash browns were perfectly cooked, the smothered onions hidden within. My waffle was nice and fluffy, perfectly cooked, the whipped butter and syrup complementing it perfectly. Went here the other day for a quick and easy dinner with my kids. Immediately we noticed that there were *literally* only two workers there. One lady came over to us and took our order. About 10 minutes of nothing happening in the kitchen, our server gives the 1 cook there our order and the cook rolls her eyes and starts. She got our order wrong and it was not fully cooked. Was spending a nice Sunday afternoon driving back roads through Maryland when I decided to refuel my belly at Waffle House. Had a large order of hash browns scattered, smothered, peppered and country with a side order of country ham. Only issue with the food is I wish the hash browns had been seasoned, had to add salt and pepper. Country ham was nicely grilled and quite tasty. Went to this Waffle House on April 16, 2022 around 5pm right after leaving the outlets. When my family and I entered it was freezing cold which did not present much of a problem. It was only two workers that I saw two older white females one with pretty yellow blonde hair the other older with a cherry reddish blonde hair this lady reeked of alcohol and was clearly drunk on the job. When we entered we spoke to everyone. The older lady with the cherry reddish blonde hair that was working the floor was very rude from the beginning. I politely asked how are you doing and she replied "I don't know yet" with a stone serious face. I kept it polite and asked was it OK for my family and I to just pick out a booth, she replied "I don't care". As I mentioned it was very cold inside so I stepped out and got me a jacket from my car. There were two other families already inside when we got there. No one had food in front of them. It didn't even smell like food inside. After waiting about 30 minutes the older lady comes over to our booth while we are looking over the menus and she says "MOVE". When she first said it, I was unsure if that was what I heard or she said so I did not react. She also didn't say what was to be moved so it was confusing. She quickly says it two more times while she's pushing the menus of my 14 year old son and 65 year old mother to the other side of the table towards the window pushing the menus from in front of their view. She wanted the menus moved to put down the silverware, but still did not make sense because the silverware could have definitely coexisted on the table with the menus IN PLACE without her rude actions. This lady really aggressively pushed and kept pushing the menus away as if the menus were fighting back. By the 3rd time she pushes the menus I hit the roof I told her about how unprofessional she was from her interaction with us, to the tones she spoke with, to the hospitality she lacked working in the public sector and lastly, to how she reeked of alcohol beverages at work. I will never eat at this establishment. I would never recommend anyone to eat at this establishment. read more

Classic diner food. Nothing but dependable quality. I arrived at 1030pm for a late night meal. I got steak and eggs w hash browns, toast and ices tea for about $12 including tax. My only two complaints were that the table was a bit sticky and the server was rather "casual" ok lazy... didnt come to the table to check on my order or the person in the table next to me but instead called over to us from where she was sitting at the counter... seemed she was less than enthusiastic about working the late shift, or maybe waffle house is just that casual a place to begin with? Went in for breakfast this morning. Immediately greeted by the manager behind the counter. He offered us to sit wherever we liked. Before being seated the waitress was there asking how our day was thus far and what our plans were for the day. Very friendly and professional taking our drink orders. She took our orders and then immediately returned with our drinks. Our food was in front of us in under 10 minutes. Food was exactly as ordered and cooked just right. Oh, the waitress looked and sounded like Mila Kunis. We were tempted to say "Shut up Meg!" but had no idea if she would know what we were referring to. So Waffle House is delicious. But this one went above and beyond in the service. It was a packed Saturday morning and apparently their ordering system had crashed shortly after our order was taken. The minor inconvenience of them asking us to repeat our order which neither of us minded doing caused them to give us 20% off. The place itself seems bigger and better laid out than most waffle houses I've been to. It was also very clean. For under $8 you can get two eggs, toast, meat, grits or hashbrowns, and a waffle with their all star combo. I highly recommend getting a waffle, a large smothered hashbrowns (adding onions which is amazing) and grits. The grits were seriously probably my favorite part of the meal tho if I had gotten the smothered hashbrowns like my boyfriend had it would be a close call. Overall id definitely go back. read more

This is the first time going to this Waffle House location and possibly the last time. Table was still dirty and sticky AFTER they wiped it down with what looked like a dirty dish rag. Sitting bench felt sticky as we were sliding in to seat ourselves. Server was friendly. As we were waiting for our food, we noticed spilled food all over the floor in the cooking area behind the counters. You'd think they'd clean it up because it's a slipping hazard but no, they all just kept walking around the spilled food. Waffle makers had dough that had overflowed numerous times. Yum! Breakfast is the best meal of the day...especially if there is bacon! Waffle House is something you find while driving on the Interstate. They are open 24 hours and they serve real food, real fast and cook it right in front of you! I have been to this Frederick Waffle House many times. It is right down the street from the 24 hour Walmart and I think it is a hoot to drive 30 minutes to Frederick and peruse the almost empty store in the wee hours of the morning! If you finish before 1am, you can stop at the Sonic right next door, but if it is later then you have to stop here at the Waffle House! I am addicted to their biscuits and sausage gravy because they butter toast their biscuits before slathering on the yummy goodness! You can get 2 whole biscuits for $3. I usually have the All-Star breakfast ($8) because it is so cheap and comes with so much food! Waffle, 2 eggs, choice of bacon, sausage or ham, grits, toast and coffee (any drink). For a little bit more, you can make your waffle snazzy with pecans, chocolate chips, strawberries, blueberries or peanut butter. Don't look for frills. I like to sit at the counter and watch all the action. For me, this is an old fashioned diner. Prices keep going up slowly. They have 15 meals for $5 if you are on a budget. Pretty good price as they all include a drink with refills. You can get your hashbrowns (or eggs) scattered with extra goodness added for $0.40 for each topping. I recommend the grilled onions, green peppers and mushrooms. You can also get cheese, ham, tomatoes, jalapenos, chili or sausage gravy. This visit on a late Friday night (or early Saturday morning), the two of us had a waffle, 4 scrambled eggs, toast, hashbrowns with onions and mushrooms, 2 biscuits with gravy, double cheeseburger, coffee and ice tea for $15.79 (tax included). We rolled out of there pretty stuffed! This is not health food although they do have salads and even entrees like steaks, pork chops and grilled chicken. Think greasy diner and delicious food for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Breakfast is served all day long. Shoot! So is dinner! Pretty much their whole menu is available at any time. How great is that? **When it is not busy, you can sit anywhere you want. There are no busboys and depending on how busy they are, dirty dishes can remain on the table for a while. read more

It's always so exciting when my wife and I are out of town and we see a Waffle House. We're both huge fans of Waffle House and there aren't any in the district. My wife had a CrossFit competition I. Frederick and here was no question that we were going to eat at Waffle House afterwards. As soon as we walked in, we were both greeted by all of the employees. There weren't a lot of customers so we were served pretty quickly. My wife ordered the all star and I got the Texas sausage melt. The only reason this place got 4 stars is because my wife ordered extra crispy hashbrowns and I didn't. I still got the extra crispy hashbrowns and I couldn't enjoy it as much. It was too burnt for me. I should've said something, but then I feel as if my order should've been correct. The place is clean and friendly. I went to this place years ago after I quit working at the Toys R US factory. I was working two jobs a getting little sleep. When they told everyone we had mandatory overtime, I was not up for that. The most of the upper management did not seem friendly at all. I told the boss on duty I quit and he said..."I don't blame you." Drove out of there and went to The Waffle House and had pecan waffles. The waffles tasted so good after all the stress of where I was working washed away. The first Waffle House I went to was in Florida and the last one I went to was in Ohio of last year. A group of friends and I came here for breakfast on our way to Harpers Ferry. It is a pretty small diner and fills up pretty quickly, but the wait is pretty short. The food is not too bad, but heavy on butter and oil. For a place called the Waffle House, you'd expect really good waffles, but this taste like something you can from the frozen section of the supermarket. Maybe I am more of a pancake person? The food is really affordable. For two eggs, hashbrown, and toast, it will cost about $4. Not bad, right?
