Can't say I remember what we got here, but it was great.

One of the best hotdogs i've found around here and the price is always right. Usually a friendly environment and always reminds me that i'm in a small town with a lot of history. It's nice to stop in and sit down, the servers are so friendly; or even just grabbing a quick bite to-go has been worth it.

The food here was good. Definitely great if you're in the mood for a hot dog. But it is nothing life changing. The service was good and the ambiance was very cute. Especially for Halloween

Cryin' Johnnies Food Truck was parked outside of Liquidity Aleworks. We wanted snacks to go with our beer flights. They sold 15 kinds of hot dogs and 2 kinds of nachos. Everything was under $10. We had a Chicago Dog and a Sloppy Dog. They were ready shortly after the order was placed. The Chicago Dog reminded my date of home. The Sloppy Dog reminded me of Atlanta's The Varsity Chili Cheese Dog!

Deserving three and a half stars, this turned out to be a pretty good lunch stop. If you are on a budget, this is an excellent place to come for inexpensive tasty food at barebones prices. It's an easy on/off from I-70 over to Main Street and there is a convenient parking lot just before the restaurant. I started with a cup of their crab soup. It's obviously homemade. It's not cream based. And you can smell the crab. It's chock full of veggies and bits of shredded crab. A cup is only $3.99 and it's a perfect starter. Since most everyone was enjoying a hot dog or a burger, we decided that's what we'd order. They also have a daily special lunch menu for Tuesday- Friday that includes a drink and fries for $6.99. You can substitute onion rings for a couple dollars more. I just got the naked dog. And asked for it to be grilled. It's pretty basic -- just a dog in a bun. I added my onion mustard and ketchup. For under $3 this can't be beat. My husband got a foot long, grilled, Chicago dog. It was huge and topped with a bunch of stuff including the requisite neon green relish. Heartburn city for me, but heaven for him. The gals at the table behind us were oohing over their cheesy crab dip served with pretzel bread. They do have some healthier options -- salads etc. So if you're passing by, this might be the place to stop. Keep in mind that every thing is cooked to order so no fast food here..

Ok. I started my culinary road trip with Cryin' Johnnies and I wasn't disappointed. I got the Southern Dog and it was spot on!! Chili was good and the slaw had a hint of sweetness too. The fries are homemade and awesome. Really enjoyed this place. Next Hillbilly Hot Dogs in Lesage, WV

If you are craving some traditional American food such as burgers, fries and hot dogs this is a great local spot to order from. The fries are amazing! I was trying to eat on the healthier side so I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with mayo, grilled onions, pickle, lettuce and tomato. My sandwich was pretty good and I would give it 4 out of 5 stars. The kids meal however was a pizza on a flour tortilla. That pizza was the most disappointing thing I have ever seen in my life. It looked and tasted like something that you make at home when you are out of groceries and need to cook something up real quick. If you get a kids meal, I recommend to get anything except the pizza. Other than that the prices are fair and the other food was delicious! A family member purchased the gyro and it was delicious too. I do recommend this restaurant so you should give it a shot, especially if you do not live around the area and are driving into town! The indoor decor was spectacular and gives a great local restaurant aesthetic for photos!

Good place to get American style food with an extra flair. They're known for their different hotdogs with various special toppings, as well as hamburgers. I tried the cheese stake sandwich and really enjoyed it. The prime rib meat was not chewy or stringy and they added a nice amount of melted cheese and mayo to make it juicy. The pack of fries is large enough to share with 3 people, especially since the hot dogs and sandwiches are filling by themselves. We ordered our meals to go and sat there as we waited for them to prepare our food. They were very friendly and made our meals pretty quickly, despite it being lunch hour and having customers dining in.

We went here strictly based on the yelp reviews and were not disappointed. We were kindly greeted and took our meals to go. We ordered: -The Crabby Dog - DELICIOUS crab dip! -The Chicago Dog -Western Cheeseburger -Tater Tots (it was Tater Tots Thursday so we had to!) -Fried Macaroni and Cheese - yummy AND homemade! Everything was great!

I drink unsweetened tea most of the time so I'm constantly waiting for a refill. The good ... the food is generally tasty. The Bad ... they are charging $32.00 for a 16oz ribeye. I know they use Mt Airy Meat locker for their beef. The steak was seasoned well but had a tiny sliver of a bone for what they called a bone in. Also .... The nickel and dining is ridiculous. You get one side. And they upcharge for mushrooms or onions. In comparison... Longhorn service a 20oz Ribeye with 2 sides and bread for $32.79 So I got the Ribeye and about 6 stalks of very tiny asparagus. I actually like the small asparagus but not 6 stalks??? As far as the steaks go ... don't give me the local meat BS or the cost for a small business. Side cost little ... salad and potatoes are cheap. We don't go to this place regularly because of this ... so we end up with a $72.00 bill (wife got a Cesar salad with shrimp) and seltzer water with a lime. Result ... have to make something to eat after we get home. After dropping nearly $90 after tip. My wife and I prefer to patronize local places but these owners are making it hard. I was going to order the chicken wings and a side salad .... But ...$24 for 12 half wings is beyond ridiculous. The wing shortage is over but many places are hanging on to the price increase ... I'd imagine because they think the customers are stupid. Out of curiosity... I shopped a pack of fresh wings at BJs wholesale club to see what wings are going for. The price for an 18 pack is around $8.00. And that would make 36 buffalo wings since you only get half. Disappointed... food that we did get was good ... but value is somewhere close to a zero!

This was our first time here, as on prior occasions we found the line too daunting. We were surprised when another 4:15pm patron was led to their reserved table, but we learned that their planning and caution was well-founded. We discovered the popularity of Bolder to be well-deserved. Seeking lite fare for an early dinner, calorie conscious, we both navigated the tempation-filled menu with success. We thoroughly enjoyed the bison burger and turkey club, the latter being sufficiently sample for a split lunch the next day too. Service was rock-solid and very efficient. We definitely hope to be back soon. And we will make a reservation. Dress code is casual.

It's a little bit off 70, but not bad. First off, this restaurant has an incredibly oversized parking lot. Maybe the restaurant has areas I didn't see, but I was a little bemused. Inside, it's decorated a bit like an old lady house with country accents. It's welcoming and nice, if a little old. I was seated and served quickly. My waitress was great. I ordered French onion soup and a bison burger with sweet potato fries. The French onion soup came out first. It had a huge layer of cheese on top, but it tasted like white cheddar. The soup itself was good at first but started getting bitter. I discovered a huge bay leaf in it. That explains that. Guys, leaving a bay leaf hidden in French onion soup is a violation of Article 35(2) of the Additional Protocol I to the Geneva Conventions. My sweet potato fries were seasoned with a chipotle cinnamon blend. It was weirdly sweet and clashed with the burger. I didn't care for it and honestly feel like if you're going to season with something weird, you should be abundantly clear. The burger was a disappointment. It was fairly basic. It was cooked right, but every so often I would get a burst of salt. I suspect the meat was salted and not well mixed. My burger, fries, and side of soup came to over $40. I am honestly being more critical of them because of that. At that price point, I expect REALLY good, not salt pockets, a left-in bay leaf, and weird seasonings.

We ordered hibachi and sushi rolls. Our meals came with soup, salad, fried rice, noodles, sautéed vegetables, and dessert (delicious vanilla ice cream). All the hot foods were cooked on the grill right in front of us, with the theatrics you'd expect from a Japanese Hibachi restaurant. Our chef was quite skilled with both the tricks and the cooking. All of the food was delicious, especially the filet mignon steak hibachi and the sushi rolls (a "Fire Crunch" roll with spicy tuna, cucumber, salmon, and spicy crab, and a spicy salmon roll). The wait staff checked on us frequently and someone even came running out of the restaurant after us to thank us for coming. It's a sit-down grill seating around 25 in the back of the store at a gas station, making some good bbq and sandwiches and more! This day (Sep 2025) we were on the way towards Baltimore after a day in Mt. Airy, and we just wanted a relaxing inexpensive meal without any fuss. There's enough parking out front, though it can be a little tight. You just walk into the storefront and head to the back to order. Folks are always friendly. You serve your own beverages while you wait. The food comes out hot and in generous servings. We had a $10 "pit beef" and chose it with gravy on a soft bun, which made it a kind of bbq sandwich, richly flavored hearty thick gravy over a generous serving of thick beef slices. It was mostly melt-in-your mouth tender. A few pieces could have been trimmed better, but the favor could not gave been more delightfully savory. We had an entirely tender $10 rueben on toast, perfect flavoring, perfectly thin-sliced. We had a really over-stuffed $10 BLT with perfectly crisped thin bacon. And we had a fresh bright $10 chicken salad on toast with lettuce and sliced tomato. For $3 more each, we had zig-zag fries accompanying a couple of these, and they gave us an additional side. They were so generous we never ran out! Piping hot and lightly crispy. Of course sodas and teas, too. It was a perfect quiet little oasis with freshly made tasty generous inexpensive food and friendly staff.
