This is the only location in Frederick, and given how busy they are, they probably need another one!! I placed an order for in-store pickup for 9/26. I like how I was able to make multiple customizations, specify special instructions, and add a ton of toppings without paying extra. The store was wildly busy, and I had arrived 10 minutes early so it wasn't ready then but was ready at the quoted time. The crew/staff were really friendly and really courteous, and it's always nice and nowadays rare to get really good customer service. The sandwiches were fresh with soft delish bread, the veggies were plentiful, the toppings were stacked high, and both were incredibly delightful to eat, especially the chicken cheesesteak! Hmmmmm. Love me some Jersey Mikes - enough to break my "don't review a chain" rule. Let me tell it... I am a huuuge fan of Italian cold cut subs. My point of reference is Frederick's own Juliet's Italian Market and Deli. Great roll, great meat, great veg, great dressing; it's the real deal. Jersey Mike's Original Italian is a really, really close second, and on a good day I'd rank it #1. Today was a really good day. The stars were in full alignment as were the fillings stacked high on a white bread roll. Outstanding sandwich and a great deal. The best part is that I can get the same sub at a gazillion other store across the nation. Can't do that with Juliet's, at least not in the foreseeable future. Why a 2-star rating when the subs were great? Because what I witnessed overshadowed the quality of the food. We walked in to find eight team members standing around chatting while customers waited. It took five minutes before anyone acknowledged us and started preparing our two regular subs. While the food itself was solid--as expected--the confusion and lack of situational awareness by the staff was disappointing. But here's what really dropped the score: I watched as the woman in front of me, and several customers after her, were denied a military:veterans discount. I'm not a veteran. I served as a military contractor overseas. But I've seen first-hand the sacrifices our service members make. I've listened to them talk about missing holidays with loved ones. I've held the hand of a wounded soldier's dying on the battlefield. I know what their service costs. To deny them something as simple as a military discount--a gesture of gratitude--is wrong. These brave men and women shouldn't have to ask or justify their worth. Every business in this country should see it as a duty of honor to say, "We remember. We value you. We thank you." Mike, do the right thing. Fix the policy. Make sure members of our military/veterans feel appreciated when they walk through your doors. read more

We purchased 2 fried Italian subs. There was only a sprinkling of lettuce and one of them had no cheese. On one, I requested yellow banana peppers. On this giant sub, I counted 4 of them. The sub buns were very dry. We ordered these subs based on television advertising. They were nothing like the images on tv. Will never order these again. read more

3.5 stars if I could. I came into this location for a late lunch. Got the buffalo chicken cheese steak. Which is odd they call it since the only cheese on it is blue cheese dressing but that's ok. My dining mate got the chicken cheese steak with peppers and siracha on it. He also added mushrooms. People were pleasant but it took a while to get the food. Like around 10 minutes which isn't terribly long but still for a sub? We decided to eat there as well each table was icky. We had to wipe ours down ourself and it looked like each table had crumbs and stickiness on it. My sub was an absolute mess. Sauce dripping out of both ends. Not a first date kinda meal. The sub also wasn't stuff equally. More chicken on one side then the other. But it was absolutely delicious and piping hot the whole way thru. My dining mate said his was perfect. Stopped here after a ball game on the way home at about 8:41 on a school night when they close at 9. Decided to get myself goin' with a turkey chipotle sub (regular) and a fountain beverage - to which I went with tea just to keep it Christian. The store was very clean- employees were friendly, though we came in when it looked like they were starting their close routine, but others also came in so it was good. Guy who helped us was courteous, thorough, and explained sizes to us who have learning disabilities when it comes to being a first timer. The only issue there was had to do with the communication between our bud and the girl who made the sub. The mini looked to be the same size as the regular but it wasn't a big deal. Mike's way means lots of oil. I blindly obliged but it tasted great. Overall it was a good meal- food was warm, tea was good, and we ate in the parking lot so we didn't dirty a table. Very good choice, but I'd eat anywhere with you. I also like how the sub is put in a paper sack type thing, where it can courie and get all meshed together inside. Will be back. read more

While I was on a several day fast I was craving some veggie sub sandwiches as me and wifey drove home from her appointment. After already passing the store I figure forget it I probably don't need it. But after waking up the next day still thinking about the sun I decided to order before returning on my fast. I ordered by way of GrubHub a sub with lettuce, tomato, red wine vinegar,olive oil blend, green bell peppers, banana peppers, cherry pepper relish and jalapeños. Soon as the driver dropped it off I couldn't wait to take it upstairs to get busy. Opened it up and immediately was upset. I saw a sad veggie sub with just lettuce, onion and cheese in which I didn't even ask for because I don't eat it. Now you might say it was only a one time thing, a small slip up. I have ordered from here maybe 3 times and every time no matter what I ask for as a topping or pick what I don't want the sub comes the same sad way every time. And for $20 for a giant sub where u get none of what u want and almost all of what u don't is ridiculous. I have to update my review - and give another 5 stars!!! I live in Arizona and made the stupid mistake of ordering through the app without checking my location... I ended up with an order at the Frederick location (we had been there on vacation) while sitting hungry in Arizona. The staff was UNBELIEVABLY helpful. They seriously went above and beyond to not just refund me the money - but to do everything in their power to make it right, including calling my local store to try and transfer the order. They never once made me feel like an idiot. In fact they apologized for my inconvenience! They called me back to report on the progress, then I got a call from the general manager who helped me with the full refund. I'm obviously a fan of the food at Jersey Mikes - but the customer service here is unmatched. They absolutely make sure the customer is well cared for. We never had a problem before, but we placed our orders on-site Wednesday evening. I ordered a club sub, which was supposed to have bacon. My sandwich came without. The other 2 subs were a chicken cheesesteak, and my friend was not given the option to add lettuce, tomato, etc. The third sub was a portabella mushroom-swiss, and no option was offered for topping. But after about 30 visits to this store all I can say - it is said the definition of insanity is repeating the same thing over and over and expecting a new result. I've been looking forward to Jersey Mike's opening up in Frederick ever since I had a sub at their Charles Town location this summer. Their fresh baked bread and fresh sliced meats set them apart from other chain sub shops. It's not my favorite sub in town, but it's a half step up from Subway or Quiznos. I'm totally confused by their number ordering system. The subs all have numbers assigned (e.g. 8 is a club sub, 10 is a tuna sub), but there are numbers missing. There's no 1, 4, 11, 12, etc. I got an explanation for this at the Charles Town location, but it didn't make a whole heck of a lot of sense. I guess they have other subs than what is currently on their menu? I got the grilled Rueben today. My boyfriend got the turkey breast and provolone cold sub and asked if he could also have it grilled, but they told him no. I thought it was kind of weird since they already had grilled subs on their menu, so it wasn't a totally bizarre request. read more

For my mom's birthday, I went to Jersey Mikes on 5/15/20, and bought 2 regular wraps #13, Mikes Way, and one Giant #56 (Cheese steak), and asked for it to be on 2 wraps. I have been to Jersey Mikes in Hershey, Williamsburg, both locations at Hagerstown (home locations), and now this place. When I brought the food home, I saw that my giant #56 was actually a regular size, on a wrap. I paid $15.25 for it and only received half of the order. I also indicated on the online order that I would like banana peppers on the 2 #13s and have it done Mike's Way, however, there were no peppers, and barely any kind of sauces or spices on it. I tried calling the store, and the lines were busy, and wouldn't pick up. I emailed customer service on the website the day of, and I haven't gotten anything back from them. I am an avid supporter of Jersey Mikes, as I have been going to them for the past few years, but I don't think I'll be going back to the Frederick location. The Hagerstown Locations are easily 4/5 stars, great food, great service, and excellent staff at both of those locations. I really don't like giving out 1 star reviews, but I wasn't able to contact them, and this might be the only way to help others avoid what I went through and the money I lost. Update: I ordered the same thing from the dual highway location in Hagerstown and received the cheese steaks sub on 2 wraps. They were in fact smaller than the regular size because of what they were, and the Frederick location had all of the contents on one wrap. Which was roughly the size of a regular wrap. If that's the case then I did get what I ordered. That being said, I still didn't get the side contents and the Mike's way on the other subs as requested. If you are looking for a Jersey Mike's in Frederick, then I would recommend here while ordering in person to verify you are getting what you are ordering. read more

The original Italian sub I got was alright. They freshly slice the meat and cheese in front of you to order. The bread was just okay. What I really didn't like was seeing a giant pan of cooked bacon above the grill, not covered, and several flies all over the bacon. They should have had it covered with cellophane or something. Worse service ever! At 11:00 a.m., I waited over 25 minutes for 2 cheese steaks. They did not even start cooking my order until 10-15 min. AFTER I paid, which BTW, forced me to include a gratuity. The "teen-run" business was more concerned with filling an online order, before starting all the ones there in person. Then when I got home, 45 min. later, I discovered the subs were both wrong! I was introduced to Jersey Mike's by my stepmother who was introduced to the store by my stepsister. Back in June, I was visiting my stepmother in Gaithersburg and I attended the store with my stepmother after a whole day shopping spree, she suggested the Club Supreme sandwich (# 9 on the menu board). The Club Supreme consists of Swiss cheese, roast beef, turkey, bacon, mayo, oil, salt/pepper and vinegar. Just talking about this particular sandwich makes my mouth water!!! lol. I also visited the Frederick location several times, as I do live in Frederick, however, the teenagers aren't motivated and have that "I'm unhappy to work here and I want to go home" looks upon their faces but my sandwich comes out good anyway. I have to admit that I've never tried a club sandwich in my life and I won't eat any other club sandwich if it isn't from Jersey Mike's! It's like I have some addiction or something lol. I've been to Jersey Mike's twice now and had both a hot and a cold sub. I was impressed with both. My hot selection was the grilled pastrami reuben with mustard instead of thousand island dressing. The sub was packed full of meat, cheese and sauerkraut. It was served piping hot. The bread is that delicious, crusty bread that really holds up to all of the ingredients of a sub sandwich. My cold sub was the original Italian. Once again, stuffed full of meat and cheese. I really like that the meat is sliced to order. Cold subs are served with shredded lettuce, thin sliced onions, tomatoes, oil, vinegar and spices. You can request they leave any of the preceding off of your sub if you wish. The only reason I knocked a star off is because of the service I received on my first visit. Two surly teenage boys were manning the store and they didn't seem very interested in giving good customer service. They just slapped my sub together and rang me out. My second visit was much better with a completely different set of employees who were friendly and fast. Oh, and sign up for their email club on their website! In the past two months, I've ordered three times using their app. Every time, special requests have been wrong. Because of COVID-19, I've been trying to get in and out fast, so I'm not finding mistakes until I get home. For example, my most recent order included a chipotle cheesesteak... extra meat, extra cheese, hold the onions, hold the peppers. And I wanted to add grilled mushrooms, but couldn't find it on the app, so I wrote a note requesting them and indicated I was adding $2 to the total to cover the cost. OK, I get that that's a lot of special requests for a sandwich, butI numbered each of the notes so that they would be easily understood. Got home and found a regular chipotle cheesesteak with grilled onions and peppers, no mushrooms. I like their subs, but the crew isn't attentive to special requests. This place is addictive!! So some friends asked if i had been and wanted to go for lunch.. they know im a bit of a food snob... but i decided to give it a try and WOW im glad i did!! I ordered, and have only ordered, a steak and cheese here. The rolls are in the traditional philly style.. the provolone is fresh and creamy, the meat is bountiful and tasty.. and they dont skimp on toppings. Staff is always friendly.. joking with you. They make you feel welcomed. Sure, its $$, but its well worth it to me. I used to be a Jerrys Subs fan but wow have they gone down hill. Jersey Mikes is the only place i will get a philly cheese steak - outside of philly. lol go there. try it. love it. dream about it. go back and get more. End of story.
