This is a great store with high quality products; however their personnel could certainly benefit from some refresher courses on how to be more respectful and helpful to their customers! Most of them act like you are bothering them! read more

The store is a bit messy, and confusing to find stuff quick, other than that employees are friendly

I called the store looking for a particular dress in my size (I live in another county and was directed to the Last Act dept. A saleswoman named Tamra took my call, got the info and searched the department for the dress, unfortunately she didn't locate it but said it may be in the back, she promised to return my call since she was alone in the department and of course not able to leave it unattended. She actually called me back and left me a message before she went home for the day to let me know she had found the dress in my size and assured me she would hold it for me until she heard back from me. I contacted her and the dress was sent to me next day delivery! I really appreciate great customer service especially nowadays since its hard to find. Kudos to Tamra from the Last Act dept. You went above and beyond and are very much appreciated, thank you! read more

Went to the Jr girls section on 4/11/2018 near closing time. Me and my family were trying to find a different size dress before making a purchase. As we walked toward the rack Shida(employee) said "goodnight" and my brothers reply was "we not quite done just yet" and Shida's response was "I Don't Care". This lady is an employee and should NOT be talking to customers like that. As we were going to purchase the dress she said "I need to close down the register are you going to buy that or what ?" At this point we just purchased the dress and proceeded out the same way we came in because of where the car was parked. The bars were blocking the door way. She refused to let us out the store that way and made us leave out the other end of the store. So we ended up walking all the way around Macy's. As we are leaving she is yelling at us the whole time to leave. I understand the store was closed at that point and your suppose to be closing up but she was still on the clock and should have provided customer service regardless. I'll be contacting Macy's corporate for this as well. read more

Wow service is so questionable at this Macys. I think they're all understaffed anyways but this experience really bugged me. I went to purchase a pillow and told them the type I was looking for and asked if this was the only type they had. The woman's response? Well it's all on the pillow so that's probably it. Seriously? Ok clearly no interest in searching huh? Ok so I let it go and walk with her to go check out. Then the two staff spend a few minutes talking to each other before ringing me out. Patience wearing then, go ahead and talk but can you keep working at the same time? They're just socializing about what the woman wants to buy. Now after I'm given total, I ask if that includes the additional 15% off...then I get a condescending response that the discount I got was more than 15%. I look at him and say that's the price on the sign is there an additional 15% off. He looks at me like I'm stupid, and repeats the same thing. I just say you know what? forget it, I'm not going to buy it. He's astounded by my answer, I just say, you know what it's me ok? I just don't have any patience. Wow just wow. Go elsewhere, no wonder Macy's is slowly going out of business. read more

I'm a very patient guy and I understand mistakes can happen. This is a joke though. I will never shop at a Macy's again. I went to buy a suit over a month ago. I got everything I needed except the jacket. I had to order one from them because my size wasn't in. I waited over two week and I got nothing. I called them and they just say, oh yea it was cancelled. I guess there was a problem with an address or something. But instead of calling me to clarify... No, they just cancel the order without even telling me. So I go back is, pissed off, and tell my story. They help me out by giving me a jacket that was slightly smaller but still looked fine. I used it for my party and then returned it back to the guy to order the proper size. He was very helpful and accommodating. I order the proper jacket and here I am... Waiting... Over two weeks once again. So I email them. It's Xmas time, I figure they are behind. NOPE! They cancelled my fucking order once again!!! WITHOUT TELLING ME!!!! Are you kidding me? What kind of shit head customer service is that?? If you have a problem with an order, you call your customer that's expecting a 200 dollar item. I will absolutely NEVER shop at a Macy's again. I've never tried so hard to give someone money and have them not take it. This place is an absolute joke. read more

Macy's has gone downhill in service and quality over the years but today marks the last day I ever shop at Macy's in Pleasanton. The employees are rude and unhelpful and the store is unkempt. (1) I walked to three different registers before finding one that had someone there -- albeit she was standing near the register area helping someone find some pants, looked at me and then proceeded to ignore me until I asked her for help, which she rudely provided 10 minutes later, (2) the dressing room had clothes strewn everywhere and smelled like a boys locker room, and (3) I tried to buy some Clinique makeup and was informed that one of my requested items was out of stock but she could not tell me whether any was ordered nor when any would arrive (because ordering came through corporate) and she couldn't order any on the internet with shipping waived. I can see why Macy's revenue continues to plummet compared to stores like Nordstroms. Good riddance. read more

If I could give Macy's a Negative star rating I would. I purchased a Keurig for a Christmas present online for in store pickup, to start things off the person who rang me up took 20 mintues to go and find the thing! The next day I got a notifcation from my bank, so I checked my account, not only did Macy's online charge me, but stoneridge mall charged me as well!!! I tried to contact the store, but kept getting sent to an extention that wasnt in service, once i finally got on the phone with the Kitchen department i was hung up on, and the second time the manager gave me the option of returning the item to get my money back, but it would take 7-10 busniness days for the money to be returned.. UMM no i dont want to take the gift back i just want my money!! tuesday rolls around and ive gotten no help i called customer service about 7 times since saturday, and they all tell me to wait 7-10 busniess days (my account has been charged twice over the original price a total of $258.96 missing after the inital 129.48 i paid) .. tuesday morning i checked my account and i was charged a third time plus $35.00 in overdraft fees!! SERIOUSLY im furious at this point. I spoke to a lady in customer service and she said it would take 3-5 days and it was my banks fault not macys, so they refused to pay the overdraft fee since it was just a hold and they didnt actually charge me which is what every other customer service person had told me. I hold is still money out of my personal account i cant touch for 7-10 days when it was all done and over i asked for some sort of compensation for the headache of having to deal with so many rude people, she said "well you got your money back in your account, thats compensation enough" im sorry but i didnt realize receving my own money that shouldnt have been touched in the first place was some sort of prize??? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not do instore pick up or use a debit card here, they will charge you and they DO NOT CARE if they overdraft your account. read more

While shopping on 6/2 I accidentally overheard a clerk telling another customer about a presale of 25%. You could put your purchases on any credit card, leave your purchase and come back to get it when the sale actually started on 6/4. By the time I overheard the conversation I had already made $673 in purchases and no clerk had informed about the presale discount. I had to take all items back to the appropriate department to get the discount. Very upsetting and per the store manager the clerks had been told to inform customers about the presale. When I went back to pick up my purchases on 6/4 one of the departments I had to go to was the shoe department. The service was terrible, one employee kept telling those of us who were there to pick up our items that we needed to step away from the counter as it looked bad to customers that were there to shop. It took 30 minutes for my shoe purchase to be located. Terrible service, the shoe department was a mess, and the condition of the women's department was deplorable. Not sure what has happened to Macy's but their quality has gone way down. It is a shame. read more

Macy's Stone Ridge in Pleasanton California has by far the WORST customer service I have experienced. From the moment we walked in to do some after Christmas returns we were greeted by unfriendly and less than helpful sales associates. I work in customer service, I completely understand this time of year is difficult and a lot of times you are met by angry costumers. However, before I even had a chance to speak the first sales associate snaps at me when I am in line angry letting me know I needed to "get out of line and go to the men's Macy's, you can't return those shoes here. You need to go." I was taken back by her attitude! First of all I knew this and if she would have waited for me to get to her register she would have seen I had a bag of Macy's clothes that needed to be returned! Then when get to he register the lady angrily takes the bag of clothes from me and says where is your receipt, I need it." Ummm the Macy's return stickers are on the tags... hello? Isn't that a part of your "easy returns" ??? After we leave that Macy's we go to the men's shoes. Again we are greeted by annoyed sales associates. My husband and I are patiently waiting at the register as we can clearly see that they are helping others. No problem for us. Then when a sales lady see us she snaps " you should go to another counter it's busy here." Okay.... so we go to another counter. As soon as we are called up the lady looks at the shoes and again snaps at us " You can return shoes here! You need to go back to the shoes and wait." That's when I was over everyone's poor attitude. I looked at her and and sign behind which said "return center" I told her they associates there told us to come here. Luckily the guy at the register next to her said it's okay and yo take us. Literally we were so put off by everyone s attitudes we just left. We had a gift card with all our returns on them and to be honest we don't want to even spend it at a Macy's. Again I understand this time of year is annoyed for retail workers but if you can't stand the heat get out the kitchen, or find a new job where you can be your horrible self. After this time we won't be shopping at Macy's again. Oh and btw Macy's we also returned something to Nordstrom's and they were AMAZING! So sweet, the sales girl Candice and the women's shoes department at Stone Ridge is great! Positive attitude and EASY RETURNS! Maybe you should recruit her from there or ask your pals Nordstroms about customer service because they got that on lock. read more

I had more Macy's giftcards to spend than I knew what to do with, so the hubby & I decided to use it toward bedding for our new Cal King bed. We searched online for something that we both liked, then proceeded to check out the selection at the store. They have a ton of stuff at the store on display, and if it's not out, make sure to ask. We showed a picture of a bed-in-a-bag that we were interested in to an employee and she checked the computer to see if they had it in stock. It showed that they didn't have it in the size we wanted, but she brought it out anyway so we could see it in person and check out the quality. We showed interest in it and she ended up going back (on her own!) in the stockroom to see if they for sure did not have it. Luckily for us, she managed to find one in our size! It was also cheaper online by $5, and she agreed to give us that price. She was very helpful and happy to have been able to help us. We walked out with a new bed set for an awesome deal. It was such a great deal that I STILL have leftover gift cards! read more

oh how i love to shop macys! i especially love their sales!! and this macys has more of a selection that other nearby macys. the sales people are more professional as well! even compared to sf macys, their sales people are way more friendlier! the only thing that probably bothered me most was a few of their cosmetic counter girls. i understand your goal is to sell but every time we go to the juniors department with my friends, they make it obvious that they're judging people as they walk by and that they are better than everyone..not a very pleasant feeling especially as we are continuos shoppers at macys. the second floor and third floor are the only sales people worth making my purchases to. mostly third floor since second floor may be overwhelming with people at times. plus they're very helpful in finding selections i want. i recommend this macys to all my friends, colleagues, and family. read more

I would always order mens suits online untill I recieved the wrong order. I lige in stockton but I stopped by Macys Mens Suits Department in Pleasanton, just wanting to return the items(wrong items) I recieved for my husband. My husband hates shopping for suits at the store but luckily on a Friday night, we met the young girl at the suits department named Sabrina. She was working by herself and helping the 4 other customers alongside us at the same time! Amazing! Shes very kind, patient, knows what suit is for you just by looking at you, and knows how to check up on us so we didnt feel like we were forgotten about. She has your back when it comes to the best savings, especially if you forgot your coupons. We returned the wrong items, and ended up buying 2 suits, 1 blazer, 3 shirts, and 10 ties all for under $275! Yes! This girl, even when she was really busy, she still managed to find us great items for remarkable prices! The best thing about her was that, she was honest. And her honesty and patience went a long way that night. She gave us advice on what suits was worth every dollar we spent on it. We gave her a price range and ended up saving $65 more dollars and went and had dinner. Every dollar we spent was worth it. And no more online shopping for us! Definently driving the hour to Pleasanton and buying/ordering suits from Sabrina from now on. Amazing service!! read more

i recently purchased a coach purse at the macy's stoneridge mall. i received helpful advice for my decision making process. it is difficult for me since these handbags have varying styles that are suitable for certain people. however, all was well and i ended the transaction with fine service. read more

i must agree with a lot of reviews that the customer service at this macy's has gone to hell; that is if you can find a salesperson. recently, i went to purchase towels (hotel collection); the set i wanted was missing the hand towel. i looked but could not find one the same color. found and asked the only salesperson on the floor who rudely said she was helping another customer and that i had to wait. first off, i am not a petulant child; second, i wasn't interrupting, and lastly check your nasty attitude at the front door since macy's sales is down, way down. i waited five, ten, fifteen minutes and still no help. there used to be three or four salespeople on the floor, some who have been there a long time and very friendly. where are they? after this experience, i don't think i'd be making a trip to this store. now i see why people shop online and skip the hassle of mall shopping. read more

i dont know if managment reads reviews but good god, the womans clothing department is disgusting! they need to have workers that organize and clean up the piles of clothes on the floor, hang the clothes on the right sized marked hangers. i've lived in the valley for 30 years, macys was once a great place to shop, but it 's just totally out of control now. yeah yeah i know the demographics has changed. but get your employees to work. when i was in retail we werent allowed to stand around and talk. our racks were always kept neat and i worked at a Lerner shops (once a popular store in the 60s 70s & 80s) close to the Mexican border which was busier than hell. We constantly straightened. these employees now act like they re going to die if they have to break a sweat. Hire more people to straighten up so that people like me with money to spend can just easily find my size, buy it and go. The same shirt shouldnt be on three different racks in the store mixed in with jeans. CLEAN UP AND MAKE IT ACCESSIBLE SO WE CAN PURCHASE A LOT and not online from another retailer. get more worker bees and get rid of lazy workers and top heavy management. read more
