Macy's had been my favorite 10+ years ago, but it has really gone downhill these few years. Sometimes especially the third floor seemed very empty. Hope it makes it. It wa such a great store. Service was still very good. Wish more selection. Value still reasonable. And you can catch a good sale especially on discounted items. Service is great ! I went in for a refund for a handbag that I purchased on line . I got my refund in one minute, smooth and no questions asked . Then I went to look for clothes and dresses. I was so excited to see all the new formal dresses and took some photos. I also went down to the leather handbag section and tried some handbags . There are always Stars money and coupons in my account because I have opened a Macys card account . Today they were able to use the store discount 25 % plus the 30 % discount from my own Macy's card .... And I earned $10 star money . What a deal ! I came to browse Macys this past Sunday. I had some items to return and went shopping around the store at the same time. I end up getting four pairs of Clarks shoes as I love Clarks. There were all on sale, I came on the right day! Happy shopper! Macys is one of my favorite department store. I hope Macys stay at Stoneridge Mall for a long time! Service was great! A weekday visit brought me to Macy's to check out their Prom dress selection for my daughter on the 2nd fl. I was pleasantly surprised at the well kept inventory & organized store. When I asked if there was more size selections, I was told I could order the dress free of charge. She also invited me to a Prom Fashion Show event happening 3/14/26 with a few prizes, refreshments(it turned out to be a very low budget event w/fruit water dispenser drinks & mini Hershey nugget chocolate), but I appreciate the attempt to revitalize the atmosphere at Macy's like it once was. While purusing on the 1st floor Jr.Dept. I found a Levi's shirt discounted to $35 & a cute Coke fleece shirt $14. Next to the Jr.Dept. was Macy's Starbucks & I really love the Lavender Latte & bought a Carmel Macchiato for my daughter. The price was about $3 more, totaling $15 vs.$12 at a Starbucks shop. The barista at Macy's said Starbucks charges Macy's more so that cost transfers over to the customer I assume for convenience. What made it disappointing was my order was so burnt, it left a horribly bad aftertaste in my mouth. So I guess it may be my 1st & last time getting it there. read more

Staffing shortages. This was a holiday weekend, and just one sales associate was on the entire floor! This is not the first time I have experienced this problem. I had to search for someone to assist with an item that I wanted to purchase. I believe the problem is with store management and not the sales associate, who was doing the best that she could without anyone else to assist. This is the reason I do not shop at this store, often. Bought a watch online and brought it to the store for sizing. Employees took a tray of tools out and said they don't have tools to adjust the size of my watch. Your store sell watches and claim that you will do the adjustments for customers. Don't push customers to another store or employees. You are a dummy living in a tech valley, your customers aren't. One simple purchase serves as a magnifying glasses to see how f king terrible your customer service is. Note to other customers: don't expect humans in this store will help you. ***Macy's furniture management. This is not a review of a specific store. *** Macy's shipped a defective mattress. I requested a replacement but they refused. They sent a technician who didn't have a clue what he was doing. Had to return the mattress. They charged me 15% restocking fee. Regardless of multiple emails and complaints, no resolution. I wish ZERO STARS was an option! I came here looking for an engagement ring for my now finance (I know I should've went to a REAL jewelry store) and I thought everything was fine. Found the perfect ring, bought the insurance so she could have it sized or return it for whatever reason and I wa son my way. The problem started when my fiance went to use said policy to have it sized and they told her no. Said they could only size it down one size ( there was no mention of this when I bought it). She calls me in tears telling me they can't do anything for her. I take it back and want to get to the bottom of it and they tell me the same thing. So I say "ok I'll return it and go somewhere else" and the associate told me no once again and said it couldn't be returned. I inform her I bought the policy saying that I could and she said that's not what it meant and the only thing they could do for me is upgrade my ring for $750 to get her a properly sized one. They wouldn't refund me for the USELESS policy either. I will NEVER BE BACK and I will inform everyone I know how terrible of service they have here! read more

My shopping experience at Macy's was nothing short of a disappointment. Because my service I encountered was without a doubt the worst I've ever experienced. It felt like I was invisible to the staff. I approached a sales person who promised to find someone assist but they never came back. When I tried seeking help from other sources they simply brushed me off claiming they couldn't assist me either. Frustrated by the lack of help I decide to speak with the manager but my in-store ordeal. To my dismay, I was informed that I need to schedule appointment with the general manger discuss my bad experience. They collecting my information but I never received a call from them. This level of indifference and lack of accountability is unacceptable. It's clear that the customers needs and concerns are not priority for the staff or management in the men's department. As a result of this utterly disappointing encounter, I have no intention of ever shopping in this men's department Macy's again. It's a shame that such will not real till they would allow such a subpar customer service experience to tarnish its reputation. My hope is a Macy's takes his feedback to see it works towards improving their customer service for the sake of their future shoppers read more

I have been a customer of Macy's since 1975 when I was just 18 years old. I attempted to return a product that had never been used still in the original box and I had the receipt. Yes, it was more than 30 days but instead of providing customer service to a long-term customer the store manager Eileen hid behind her sales person refusing to take the product back. Needless to say from now on, I will be shopping at Nordstrom's who is happy to take returns no matter the length of time. In a time when retailers are struggling, this one made a big mistake. Macys still has awesome sales, a wonderful selection of merchandise, but organization and customer service is non existent. Service: Slow and more slow. Employees are rarely seen. If seen they pretend they are too busy folding clothes or pretend they are customers looking for clothing. Lots of cash registers but zero employees. Lines and lines. Products: A large selection of items from men's clothing, bedding, kitchen appliances and more. Shelves are always full and always have great deals. Thats a plus. But only good, if there are appropriate staffing levels to help customers purchase these products. Overall: Long lines, slow employees, and cluttered floors. The deals are still worth it though.. read more

They were incredibly helpful when I asked for some recommendations of men's cologne (I know I was in the women's section but my shoes were killing me and I was NOT walking clear across the mall for the men's area) They had a few men's bottles in the area and listened to what I was interested in and offered recommendations. They tag teamed when answering all my questions and even offered me a pen when I wanted to write the labels on the sample slips. This visit was preliminary research and next time I'll bring my spouse so he can provide his opinion. Fingers crossed I get these staff again! read more

It's interesting to reread my review from last time as it seems like things have changed a little. They do now have a dedicated area for online pick ups and/or returns. Specifically really ONLY for online orders. Don't even wait anywhere else in any cashier area to do a return. They'll just point you to the online pick up area which is what happened to me when I waited in line at one of the cashier areas and they said they don't do returns for online orders only in-store orders. I wish they had a clearer sign for online order returns as it wasn't clear that you could only do returns at the online order pick up. Either way, it's tucked in the corner of the floor with women's clothing. One line for returns and one line for pick up. The pick up line is shorter and they actually handle them first before folks in the return line even if the line for returns is super long. I was in the super long line. It took quite a while to get my return completed and it literally took only a couple minutes. I guess it was just my luck. There were two folks handling everything. Again still not too bad though it was a weekday afternoon. I didn't realize it would take so long, but then again it was near Christmas. Just don't do returns any time close to Christmas. It'll just be crazy. Otherwise, know what you're getting into. read more

5/28/2022 - Today was NOT my day to go shopping!! First, I went to the shoe department to look at tennis shoes, the ones I picked out were the ones that they sold out of. Then I went to the Mac counter to purchase some make-up, they didn't have the shade of lipstick I wanted and neither one of the ladies working in the cosmetics department were familiar with Mac products. Then I went over to the costume jewelry department and picked up a pair of Donna Karan hoops that I liked, but their was no cashier. Totally frustrated I just left!!! read more

As a kid, Macy's used to be the exclusive store growing up. I mean, I saved my allowance/part time job money for a nice sweater or boots. Now it's just an average, nicely furnished/almost off-price retailer. Flash forward and it's basic. I noticed overall in retail that they are not carrying too much inventory in the house wares department or did not have what I need (that shortened my visit). I did pick up a Fiesta bowl because I always wanted to have a Fiesta collection. It was tempting to buy a little more but I'm in the middle of a kitchen remodel, so all in good time. Fortunately, I was able to get a sales clerk to process my sale in a timely manner, so I can get in and get out of there. I noticed on the way out, there are a lot of men's clothes, probably more than anyone needs that was on clearance. Maybe their buyers over did it during the winter season? It's a hit or miss, but I prefer house ware shopping over clothing shopping. I don't think I purchased any clothing from here in years. I understand it's a busy time, however Macy's is always so disorganized. I have done curbside pickup, and it definitely takes at least 15-20 minutes of waiting during normal times. Now, being the holiday season, I wanted to do curbside pick up again. I honestly didn't want to go inside because it was absolutely packed. There are two issues. The first issue is that no one monitors the designated pick up parking spots. Most of the spots were taken by people who had parked and left. They weren't even used for Macy's pick up. People were coming from the mall side and getting back in, or some were sleeping in their cars and just woke up and walked towards to mall entrance. The worst issue I had is that no one is monitoring the curbside system once you pull into the spot and notify them you have arrived. I waited 50 minutes and the website kept saying "someone will be with you shortly." Normally I wouldn't wait that long, but I figured it was really busy inside and I honestly didn't want to go into the crowded place. After waiting 50 minutes, I went inside and stood in line. The lady helping me was very sweet and apologized. She asked the supervisor at the "At Your Service" counter if anyone was handling the curbside pickup orders. The lady told her that no one was working on the curbside pickup orders. As a customer, that's absolutely ridiculous. Macy's wasted my time by offering a service that they didn't even have the courtesy to say they aren't actually doing. No one was answering any of the phones so I couldn't even ask them if someone was handling curbside pickup orders before going in. Macy's is just a completely disorganized uncaring mess. I've worked retail, so I know it's possible to move faster than they do. Most Macy's employees have only two speeds, slow and slower. The girl helping me was very sweet though and she did the transaction extremely fast once she logged on. She had just arrived for her shift while the other two people on the counters were still with the same customers for 15 minutes. read more

Not as polished as Nordstrom but still one of the better Macys around. First impressions of this place are bad as I entered into the 'backstage area.' I entered the mens store from I think the first level from the uncovered parking area and to walk into that... A day or two before Christmas everything has a tossed around feeling. I drove from Modesto to Pleasanton I was at the Levi's jeans and I asked an employee by the name of Najia for help she was on the phone and completely ignored me. This Macy's is my favorite. There are two that are a lot closer to where I live but I drive all the way here because this Macy's is always clean and organized. The men's and women's department are in separate parts of the mall but that not unusual. Sal from the Suits department is very knowledgeable and helpful. He noticed that we were struggling to find suits on our own and helped us find exactly what we needed. There are always sales so I feel like you actually get your money's worth. Terrible. I am temporarily handicapped and ordered online for curbside pickup. After telling them I was on my way, then parked with my car info, no one ever came out. I called 10 different departments plus the curbside option, and no answer. I was on the phone with customer service in the Philippines for over an hour. I gave up and drove back home. I am an employee in the mall. I do not work near the location that this store has put a coffee/snack bar in. Prior to the pandemic, if employees in the mall wanted coffee/tea, etc, they could go to Starbucks. Some businesses have 15 minute breaks, so the Starbucks app could help us order ahead and since Starbucks was in the center of the mall, it was centrally located for everyone in the mall to be able to use their services (and sometimes, get free stuff)! Since Starbucks never re-opened after the pandemic, there has been only one coffee/tea choice in the mall, which just came in, and it was a barista machine, which could use order ahead, but was limited and expensive. Macy's advertised 'Starbucks' but without an app, and having the cafe on one end of the mall, anyone from the center of the mall on had a longer walk (thus using a huge portion of their short breaks to walk to the location). There is also no order ahead, and the products used that are advertised to be 'Starbucks', are what they sell in grocery stores, not at the Starbucks locations. This is not a win-win for the customers. Also, I've experienced long waits, bad barista's (especially the one I had today who sold me a salad with no dressing, and when I got back to my workplace, and discovered this, I had to take 10 more minutes of my lunch time to walk back and ask for dressing, which he vanished in the back to get and wasted even MORE time). The salad was over $7 and was wilted. The hours of this cafe are limited, there is always a line, and a closed for lunch time that doesn't address when they will be back. Furthermore, an unnamed source that works for the Mall told our workplace that Macy's was blocking Starbucks Inc. from returning to the mall because they wanted to occupy the Starbucks new location that was opened, just before the pandemic hit! PLEASE ADDRESS THESE MANY ISSUES! This is not a solution for the many mall employees who have very little choices when it comes to going out for food! read more
