How does Macys think it's acceptable to not staff their registers and make customers wait in line for 49 mins to pickup their in line orders? I've been a loyal customer for over 15 years and based on the treatment I have experienced I'm closing my Platinum Card effective today! your going for an online order, exchange or to return something be ready to be waiting in line for over 30 minutes. I waited about 45 freaking minutes for an online purchase. Never again I'd rather wait 2 or 3 days for shipping. I pulled out my stopwatch after waiting in the line for 15 minutes because I couldn't believe how slow the line was moving. Yikes! Beware of foreign scammers on their customer service line. My order was cancelled without explanation. Then I get a call from "Macy's" from a number without caller ID. Still no reason for why the order was cancelled. I was told the only way to fix the order is to provide the caller with my personal and financial information--despite the card they've had on file for years. SCARY!!! Only buy in store or online where you have a very solid paper trail. I don't trust speaking with their customer service group ever again. read more

I can't believe how difficult they make it to purchase some thing at Macy's. I was in the men's department today where they were at least four employees but only one working register with a long line of people wanting to actually buy merchandise. The rest of the employees were re-marking items and generally paying no attention at all to customers even though the manager was on the floor. Quick take: Never enough cashiers This has been an ongoing problem at Macys. Lots of unhappy grumpy customers waiting in long lines to pay. The store is extremely messy. During the holidays I go to the mall with lots of patience. On the other hand I understand why customers are unhappy. The employees are also over worked and unhappy too. Her patience and knowledge made the experience enjoyable and stress-free. She took the time to understand my preferences and offered great suggestions that I would never have thought of on my own. 5/14/2024: I can't thank Kratima and Yun enough at the Cosmetics @ Macy's Pleasanton for taking care and keeping my wallet overnight at their store. I went their last night to get some help/advise on an item I bought which they both did a great job in helping out. It was late so I went home in a rush and somehow forgot my wallet. Around 11 pm when I needed something from my wallet that I realized I left it at the counter in Macy's. My heart sunk as it has all my ID's, credit cards, all other stuff, not to mention couple hundred dollars in cash. Didn't get much sleep, but first thing in the morning I rushed to the store and was the first one in line and had the biggest sigh of relief when I found out the Kratima and Yun took care of it. This place is a joke. Ordered some items online on Cyber Monday and chose to pick them up from the store. Got an email yesterday saying they'd arrived at the store. Went to pick them up and chose curbside pickup. Keep in mind, they have three different areas for curbside and don't specify where it is anywhere in the email. Waited 20 minutes, nothing. Drove all the around to the other side of the mall and parked. A lady came out and told me I was in the wrong pickup area and they were waiting for me. Drove back around, waited another 20 minutes, nothing. I check my phone for updates and the order shows delivered/pickup up, now they refuse to acknowledge it wasn't picked up and won't refund the order. It's easy to see why Macys is going under. So I went in during COVID to get some last minute gifts for Xmas, it also happened to be my birthday and all I can say is how exceptional the staff was. I feel Terrible because I can't remember her name, but she wished me a happy birthday gave me some awesome cosmetic samples but also asked me for my info so they could send me some more?!? At first I was a little reluctant but today, a week later I received a wonderful late birthday present! Thank you Macy's At Stoneridge you now have a forever customer! I bought two rings during Christmas and had it for resized. There were confusion with re sizing fees. I thought I paid but I had not. Both store associates and the manager were very rude about it as if I am trying to take advantage. My favorite sales was gone and I will never ever come back to this Macy's again. Bad customer service . Even after I paid and cleared the confusion , the sales person still gave me a dirty look before I left. We bought all our new home's furniture from Macys and they convinced us to buy the WorryNoMore insurance plan which was a waste of time, effort, and money. We have spent months trying to get a part replacement with the most ridiculous wait time. I called customer service and they put the responsibility on WorryNoMore, even though we bought the plan from Macys. This is a big disappointment. We will never trust your company again. If you know that the WorryNoMore plan takes 3-4 months since filing the claim to getting the actual part fixed, why not disclose this information to your customers at least? We would have never spent so much money on such terrible insurance. This is a picture of the piece of furniture AFTER the technician came AFTER weeks of filing the claim. He did absolutely nothing and even gave unclear information to the WorryNoMore company and they sent me an email that the problem has been resolved, so I had to call again to be sure that they were proceeding with sending a different part. After that I spent time after time calling them receiving different information everytime and now they tell me they need another few more weeks till the part arrives to my home and then I have to call and schedule for somebody to come and assemble it. Even though I explained since I filed the claim that I was traveling in summer and nobody is gonna be here to claim this part or call to assemble it. read more

Wanted to express my appreciation for customer service from two people that work at the location in Pleasanton. I had a customer service issue that needed to be dealt with but due to short staffing and some other factors Macys fell short on service. However, I did want to covey that two people Smita the cashier and the section manager Da'renzo did an amazing job with helping me to view and understand another perspective in addition to provide me with additional solutions to my situation. Due to them I will give this location another shot. Recommendation to Macys corporate please provide separate areas for online drive up pick orders and in store returns. All customers deserve to be treated equally but your team should be scheduled in different areas not servicing two different areas from the same location in the store. In February 2022, my wife accidentally went on to a fake United Airlines website and bought two tickets for $1,200 with her Macy's American Express card. The website billed us in the middle of the transaction and froze as soon as we paid. United confirmed that we'd been scammed. We have explained this to Macy's countless times, and we have filed a police report. Macy's has failed to send us our February 2022 statement, which it promised us within 30 days when we and the police requested it by phone. This is July 2023, and Macy's is still billing us for the $1,200. American Express is famous for its high level of customer service, but if you have problems with the Macy's American Express Card, you will receive absolutely horrible customer service from Macy's. read more

Dear Macy's, I think I should write multiple reviews on my experience today at the store so I can provide multiple ratings. My husband and I visited your perfumes section 30 minutes before closing time and had the pleasure of being helped by Jocelyn. What a wonderful girl! (5 stars) she was patient, had our best interest at heart and was beyond helpful. Towards closing time a couple came in to the store and stared filling up a birthday bag with boxes of perfumes. My husband and I could not believe it. Jocelyn started saying "excuse me you cannot do that" while calling for help. I was in shock. I could not believe what was happening. I was so so afraid, my husband hugged me and we saw the entire thing unfold right before us. I looked at Jocelyn and could not believe how well she dealt with the entire thing. As I was complementing her she said "this happens multiple times a day" I was so afraid but this time for her. Where was security? Where was mall security? What if next time they try to hurt her? As soon as we handled her our card to pay another couple came in with another birthday bag ready to do the same thing, again Jocelyn had only a phone to protect her. Needless to say I left the store feeling so unsafe. I waited in line for a dressing room on third floor for 20 minutes. We were told that policy was to have only one dressing room per floor. So there were 4 rooms. They had closed the other side, and told us we couldn't use it. There was a no one monitoring the dressing room, and watching that someone would only take 6 items in per sign. If there was a 1/4 star, our misadventure would truly be reflective of the experience we had! First, the store resembled a "bargain basement thrift store" in cleanliness! There was actually piles of debris that someone swept up, but forgot to clean up! Whoever is the manager needs to go to a class in customer appeal. The displays were incomplete and certainly did not reflect any sense of apparel I would buy. My husband needed new shoes for several upcoming events, so we headed to the shoe department! The one and only salesperson, ( if you call a person that, after totally ignoring you for 10 minutes) was busy doing nothing but throwing some tags away. When we approach him he had an attitude, like how dare we inter him and ask him to go find the sizes needed. When he begrudgingly took the shoes to find the correct sizes, we waited another 12 minutes. He sauntered back with one box and an inconclusive response regarding the other shoes requested. Again he walked over to the other side of the shoe department to return to his "pressing job" of throwing tags into a bin. When we approached him the second time, inquiring about some sale shoes, he mumbled some thing, about being unavailable, even though on the bottom of the shoes listed the available sizes, including my husband's correct size! He was dressed like he was ready to go out and wash his car! No name tag, but had a big mop of curly dark hair! I only state that characteristic to help identify him, in case the manager would like to follow up with this insolent young man. have been a dedicated Macy's shopper for the past 50 years, however if this experience is any reflection of the " Macy's of today", it is no wonder retail companies are losing ground in the economy! read more

On June 2, 2021, I was humiliated, traumatized, and racially profiled by two employees, one who refused to give me her name and by a manager named Sunnie in the Pleasanton, Stoneridge Mall, Men's Building. I was advised that I could not return the merchandise because I did not have my receipt, although I presented the cashier with my Macy's card and ID. Then she began to treat me like a suspect, and Sunnie came along, making matters worst even to the point of threatening my minor son. I have been a Macy's customer for over a decade, purchasing suits and others items for my son's high school and college graduations, and never received this type of treatment. Did Lori Randolph retire? I never heard of any of my family or friends receiving this kind of treatment under her leadership. Needing to upgrade my office wardrobe, I'm of to Macy's Men's Suits. Why on a Black Friday, do they have only one sales associate? However, most of the clothes are 25-50% off, so just helped myself. Finally, a very nice helpful woman apologized for the wait and got me outfitted and measured my alterations. A similar experience with great service looking at shirts and pants. One suit, a blazer, for pairs of pants, eight shirts, and a dozen socks, I easily saved 50% off everything. Also purchased two sweaters at 75% off. How is this possible? read more

I love this Macy's compare to any other Macy's in the bay area but at times it can get very crowded. When they have sales going on, the clothes and shoes would be all over the floor. I try to avoid shopping here during the holidays. Parking is crazy, no customer service available, and packed with people. No matter where you go, there's a long line to pay for your items. I wanted to return a ring set that was sent to be sized.i bought the insurance but no one told me at the time that if you want to return in future the price had to be more than $1000 mine was $900. First time Monday i tried to return the dept.manager and sales lady(katherine) told me not possible i even said give me store credit and i will shop even more today.dept.manager said i woll talk to store manager and call you back never did.
