This place is fantastic! I was staying at a nearby hotel and decided to try Peruvian food. I'm so glad I did! Everything is very fresh and the presentation and flavors are spot on. I am here for work in Indianapolis, and I'm a foodie. I appreciate good quality food. I spent about an hour looking on maps and google to find some good food to eat. I stumbled across their website and explored the menu and I was blown away by the menu I could tell from the menu the food was slapping. Phew, where do I even begin!? I write this review with a full belly having had a very nice Peruvian fusion lunch with my friends. The music was a nice blend of Peruvian classics and not too loud. The restaurant and restrooms are immaculate and clean. Minimalist and cozy at the same time. The customer service was very personal, at first the waitress acted almost like a sommelier, providing samples of drinks that would pair well with our meals. Our entrees were fantastic. I haven't had such flavors in Indiana in a very long time. I hope this place sticks around a while. The Macha salsa was very delicious so I ordered 5oz to go. Our foodie group came to Macizo to try it out since we heard it just opened a couple weeks ago. When I first arrived at the restaurant and walked in, it was a dreary ambiance because there was no decor on the walls and it was a bland space with tables and chairs. We sat down and our server took our order. The menu had a nice selection of entrees and appetizers. I did notice we didn't receive complimentary chips and salsa when we arrived which is a standard at most Mexican restaurants, but I know they just opened up and probably cannot give away chips and salsa at this time, so it was not a big deal. I ordered the mole enchiladas which were chicken enchiladas drenched in a mole sauce. OMG!! These enchiladas were great and the mole sauce was incredible. I have never tasted a mole sauce quite like this before. It was very flavorful and made my dish even more enjoyable. The enchiladas itself had a nice texture and flavor, but the mole sauce made it even more special and delicious. I would order them again if I come back here for dinner. Everyone else loved their dishes as well. The margaritas from what people told me were ok, but not that great. The sangria is supposedly wonderful, so will have to try it the next time I am here for dinner. The overall service was slow, but the server was nice and professional. The manager/owner came out and checked on us after our meal, which was very nice and she thanked us for coming in for dinner. I would say Macizo is worth coming to check out for dinner and for the cocktails. I am hopeful that they will last at the Intech commons location for a while and be successful. Truly one of the best restaurants I've eaten at all year. The meatballs and tamales were fantastic appetizers and both made fresh in house. The pear cake dessert was to die for. I am not a person who normally writes reviews, however I think Macizo merits a review. I read an article stating that the chef/owners were 2 of the 4 quarter finalists from Indiana for the James Beard award. They did not disappoint. We started with a special app of a cheese, roasted pablano, and corn dip with housemade focaccia. Excellent dish, dip was flavorful and creamy, but the star was the focaccia, best I've had. My wife and I got the same entree, 4 chicken enchiladas, 2 mole, 2 Verde. Both were superb with wonderful flavors. For dessert we had the pear pound cake, a perfect ending, great flavor with out being to sweet and went great with the vanilla ice-cream. Surprisingly the devour menu includes a drink. We opted for red sangria. Best sangria I've had, drank more like a good cocktail, light, refreshing, with a nice lime undertone. Was a lot of food for a lunch, so we took everything we couldn't finish home. With a to go order of the amazing focaccia and a jar of the made in house salsa Macha, will have another lunch. I had an incredible first experience at Macizo recently! I was greeted right away and there was plenty of seating. This is a Mexican restaurant with a Peruvian twist. The owner was our server and she told us she is Peruvian and her husband is Mexican and this restaurant's food is inspired by how they cook at home. We started with the ube horchata, which I cannot recommend enough! Perfectly sweet and the purple drink is so aesthetically pleasing and unique. We started with a new item they were showcasing that was not on the menu yet, the tacos de picadillo with ground beef and potatoes. We ordered the pasta huancina and the enchiladas. You can do half verde sauce and half mole on the enchiladas so we did that. She told us her husband also loves to bake bread and the pasta came with a very fresh delicious piece of sourdough. We also ordered a side of the focaccia which she brought out telling us that it was fresh out the oven, and you could tell! The enchiladas were great. The chicken enchiladas were smothered in a generous portion of the mole and the verde, both of which had deep flavor. The pasta huancina was my favorite. The sauce was unlike anything I'd had before! We can' say enough good thing about this place. Genuine and authentic. We found this on the internet (looking for new and uniques eatery in Indianapolis) which was not hyped by Tiktok nor IG. This is a place that bring Mexican / Peruvian dishes from their 'back home' (how it is made and eaten!) to life here. Owners/chefs are from Mexico and Peru. The ingredients are fresh (they make their Tiger's Milk every day/ every time freshly used!) and the flavors are remarkable. The waitress/hostess/owner would tell us her favorites which you cannot go wrong with. The tuna (cerviche) and guacamole appetizers are must have. They are not the usual American style. Also make sure you get to enjoy their home baked bread! Our younger guests love the yuba horchata (Purple Horchata).
