I found this shop in June and quickly became obsessed because Vy can do AMAZING nail work, however my issue is their pricing which left me never wanting to come back after today, My first few sets were normal price , however when I got my nails done in august for my birthday the all gold set pictured, it cost me 100$ ... when I asked why , because they never charge me more than 85$, I was told because to do that gold she had to go over it multiple times , that set took TWO hours to do. I said ok totally worth it.. paid and tipped . Vy went on Paternity leave and I patiently waited for her to come back because of the detail she does , she came back in time for the holidays ! Hand painted each nail, in the end costing me 100$ , I didn't question it , it was totally worth the detail of each Christmas nail, set took over two hours to do as well. Was very happy . But then TODAY, I went in for a FILL, I got a VERY BASIC set . It's ombré on three nails , which she just painted green and dipped the tips in to black powder ... she then did the gold accents I wouldn't consider designs it's literally my tips gold .. that's it . If this gold cost more than let us know up front !! I would have GLADLY accepted a normal gold nail polish but she insisted on using powder so you have to paint the nail then dip .. And then she did a three moon phase on the middle finger , this whole set took not even an hour to do, HALF the time she usually takes on my nails. This FILL? 100$ .. when I asked why my fill was the same price as my last set the guy told me because Of the detail I got .. uhh excuse me ? What detail ! She only did a design on my middle flipping finger and SHE chose to do the gold stripe on my thumbs , I only wanted it on my pinky like pictured .. The guy told me if I wanted to be cheap I need to get a cheaper set then, UH EXCUSE ME ? I'll gladly pay 100$ for a DETAILED SET, but making me wait 50!!! FIFTY minutes past my appointment time , for a BASIC SET which over HALF of it was literally dipping my finger in powder !! And ONE nail had true deign A FILL at that should not have cost me the same as a brand new detail set,. But it was the cheap comment that really mean me say I'll never come back. I asked for a darker color to cover up the bright neon yellow I had underneath but as you can see it's still visible in some areas. The shape is so uneven and there is bubbles on top coat. The girl that did this set looked like she was still new. She kept applying acrylic and then removing with a paper towel. She got acrylic all over the skin around my nails and did not clean it off. Here's Danny's explanation. He basically blamed it in on a customer scheduled at 3:30pm that was still deciding what she wanted by the time I walked in at 5:15 pm for a 5:30 pm appointment. When i walked in, he was just gluing the tips on the lady so I highly doubt his story is true - especially since this has happened REPEATEDLY. Had terrible service today. The man who was doing my nails kept looking away to see what other workers were doing and not even looking at my hands. Especially when filing them the sides and underpart of my nails are completely uneven. I gave this place a try early Saturday morning. I had an appointment at 9am for a full. I walk in greeted by who I believe is the owner he asked me if I wanted a fill & pedicure as that's what I requested but I said no as I had other errands to run that day. I had an old set (glitter acrylic) from another shop so I was just gonna get gel color on top ... but I wasn't sure when I would be able to get back to the shop for some me time again. I showed him a picture that I got from the shops IG & asked if he can recreate the look & he said yes so he took my old acrylic off he was very gentle & wasn't tugging at my hand. He removed all my old nails & I was ready to see him recreate the look & he did such an amazing job my nails aren't thick nor too thin. I showed him the picture & he asked if I wanted exactly the same. I said yes but no gems. He asked if he can do one nail with the gold foil all over I said sure & I'm glad I did because it's just soo cute. I am in love with the natural look & feel of them. This was my second time coming here. I came here last Saturday and a man did my nails. I didn't want to judge right away because sometimes the men do the best work. So I let him do his work. I got a fill and had long nails previous to this so I had him cut them down a lot. When he was drilling the previous acrylic set away he was going so fast and hard I felt it burn my actual nail underneath. I still did not say anything other than a slight ow and pulling my finger slightly away. Next was laying the acrylic on and the beads were a much larger amount than what I'm used to seeing my old tech use. ( I don't go to her anymore because she moved to Vacaville) he just left a giant clump of acrylic on the tip of my thumb and didn't even bother to flick the excess off. Instead he relied on his drill to do all the shaping. There was so much dust everywhere I had fingerprints of the dust on my sweater. God the drill. As you can see in the pictures the nails are thick asf .. so he used the drill underneath the nail to try to shape them more and when he was doing that he got too close to my skin and burned my finger tip!!! Another OW and nothing was said. I did like the outcome they were cute but just very thick. I paid and even gave a $10 tip ‍ stupid because now I wish I could take that tip alllll the way back. BECAUSE NOW I HAVE A FINGER INFECTION. I don't know if it was the instruments or the placement of the acrylic but my finger is now red/purple, painful to the touch, swollen, numb, throbbing and will now have to take antibiotics and figure out how I'm going to drain the infection. One foot soaked while the other was started on asap. Same with Mani. While one hand soaked in a small bowl, she started on my non soaked hand. . Paint job nice but had Lil polish residue on fingers afterwards which tech disregarded to clean up. Nails weren't shaped. She just did a quick light file and buff. No lotion or oil. She's the MVP for that! As I walked into the shop Danny (the owner I believe) offers me a glass of mimosa or champagne. Like okuuuuur. I know I'll be taken care of! ‍ Like what shop else does that?! First time here. Service was very good, staff was outgoing and friendly while very quiet and low key. My pedicure was interrupted while my technician went to take care of a wax, which was ok with me. I was apparently given gel and charged for it, even though I told my technician more than once no gel, but I'm happy with my nails overall. I was expecting to pay around $45 for a full set and pedicure, according to their price list, but ended up paying $61, not including her tip. Again, overall pleased but the surprise charges are never any fun. Better communication would be nice. I've been getting my nails done for 10 plus years and the experience I had yesterday was outrageous! I wanted my current acrylic nails soaked off and a new set put on. The guy was arguing with me over it and I told him over and over don't rip off my nails I want them soaked off. So he just didn't even listen to me and started GRINDING OFF my nails! I told him AGAIN I want my nails soaked off! He said that it takes too long, that was his excuse! I told him I don't care I'm the one paying! So he only soaked one hand and ripped off the rest! Second issue, I've been going here for 6 months and somehow I got a fungus infection! And I know it's from their tools. I have never had anything like this and my nails were not cracked. I had a cracked nail on the other hand and no fungus! He grinded off almost all of my nail where the fungus is and he's now using that tool on other people, so DO NOT GO HERE YOU WILL GET FUNGUS! I don't know why it's so hard for nail techs to do what you ask. I feel like this time I had the WORST experience and the lady new I was on the verge of crying. I came in for a pedicure, which was great by the way! and to do an ACRYLIC SOAK OFF and then a new layover set over my natural nail or gel, depending if they had the color I like. I tried to explain this to the nail tech and she kept insisting I just get a fill, that it's faster. I told her no, I called so I can soak of my acrylic. I don't want to pay for acrylic AND GEL, I wanted one or the other. I also told her I have very weak nails so that's why I wanted to soak but she would keep going between drill and soak, drill and soak. I kept backing off because I didn't want the drill, I don't care If i had to sit there for an hour or two. It even got to the point where her drill kept hitting my skin hurting me and she kept saying sorry. She proceeded to put CLEAR acrylic over the old acrylic because she didn't even take it all off like I asked. This was not my natural length. So now she wanted to put gel over it. That's not what I asked, I let her shape and file them, and I decided to leave. I couldn't go any longer in her chair. I asked for the owner and she kept saying it's okay I can fix it, and I said no just get me out of here. So I ended up paying $59 ($23+5 tip for pedicure lady and $31 for this shitty manicure service) and left crying my eyes out. I ended up going somewhere else just to get this soaked off and gel. I have never felt so taken advantage of before at a nail place. I was there for almost 2 hours for a dip manicure where they left remnants of the old dip on my nails and skin surrounding the nail bed, plus did not clean around the nails enough. It looks like a beginner did my nails, and I could've done better myself. I have never written a negative review anywhere but this place charges about $15 more for a manicure than other places in the area and they did the worst job. The filing is uneven, there's a bubble on one of my nails already, they look sloppy and the lady stopped twice mid-appointment to wax other clients who walked in after I had already waited for 30 minutes.
