I have been coming to Royal Nails for about 5 years, but unfortunately will not be back after my last visit. We came in with no appointments at 9:20 for pedicures & were sat right away without any questions. I thought we got so lucky with not having to wait! However, about 10-15 mins in we were asked if we had an appt, which we did not. They then told us that we "walked in like we had an appointment," despite not saying a word or being asked if we did, and they actually did have appointments that just got there. So even though we were mid-service, they would only be able to cut & paint our toes. They then continued to charge us $20.00 each. They are all nice girls, which is why is review has 2 stars rather than one, but this experience did not leave a good taste in my mouth. This was not a mistake made by the customer, the appointments that walked in did not complain or seem annoyed/upset, & even told them to take their time with what they were currently doing, yet they did not complete a service they committed to when they sat us without question. My sisters and I have been coming to this nail salon for probably 5 years now, and they are the best in Modesto, hands down! Jasmine is so sweet and treats every customer with kindness, and repeat customers become like family. Love all the staff. All the ladies do fantastic nails and I've never been unhappy with any manicure or pedicure. If you don't like a color or something got smudged - tell them. They fix it with no fuss. I've been to other places where the staff are so rude when you point out something, but Royal Nails is not like that at all! Their massage chairs are great, and the salon is very clean. I was able to make an appointment the same day which was convenient. I had an appointment yesterday at 2:30. Business is located off of Roseburg. When I got there the place was packed! We didn't have to wait long before my daughter was seated. Anna did my daughter's gel pedicure. We went with Pedi #2 . That included everything in Pedi #1 & a salt scrub and hot stones. Anna did a wonderful job!! Jasmine did my daughter's gel mani. We went with chrome so that was $15 extra. She also did an amazing job! After doing my daughter's nails she waxed her eyebrows for her. Her eyebrows turned out perfect. After all the services total came out to $105. That's for a gel pedi , a gel mani, eyebrow waxing, & chrome on nails. I think that's a fair price. Liz and hon did my nails last week! 3/14/25. Liz did a fill on my nails and had given me so much helpful advice on nail care. The previous salon had set my nails up for failure and Liz enlightened me; she did my nails 3x as better and she was so fun to sit and talk with! She was so kind and very sweet. I brought my son with Down syndrome with me and she took time to talk with him as well and get to know him! He felt so comfortable with her. I never go to a different salon for my nails now that I've found Liz! Now for hon, wow! She did my pedicure and she went above and beyond with her care and articulation. Terrible pedicure. I got the more expensive pedicure with an acrylic fill on my toes. I was massaged for 2 mins, my toe nails were left with previous blue polish, my toe nails were not cleaned as you can see there is still dead skin everywhere, the shape is so off, the paint job is terrible. This place does not take pride in their work. I was trying it out for the good reviews it had but definitely would not recommend or come back. $103 for this. I can't remember the last time I day a spa day! I brought my sister here for her big day and we walked away so happy. We had made an appointment (I recommend it because they were busy!). We were seated right away for pedicures. The massage chairs were devine. We also got manicures after, both gel polish. The ladies were very sweet, and even wore masks. The room itself was clean with soothing music. Seemed to be a popular place. Which makes since given the location with easy parking. This nail spot is not what it used to be. I went in for a pedicure and it was the fastest sloppiest pedicure I have gotten from there I probably got worked on for no more than 15 minutes. They had me sitting for more than 20 minutes to dry my toes I wasn't even acknowledged the whole time I was waiting. The nail tech hall I go to has been out sick for a hot minute, so I looked for a place with good reviews in Modesto. I called to schedule and they were able to fit me in the same day. I think the tech that worked on my nails name is Billy out Denny He did a wonderful job, you do have to find your color(s) and there isn't really an option for design. (I'm pretty spoiled by what my friend can do). All in all I would come back again. Everyone was kind and genuinely happy. Love the atmosphere, it's connectable and inviting.
