Loved the service at this shop, hoping to go back sometime sooner than later. Estethicians are prompt, courteous and really listen to what the client wants. They give really thoughtful creative suggestions. My nails never pop off, chip, or break and they were not crooked or off-center etc... perfectly shaped and placed. Met my mom and sister there, enjoyed questioning the rock soup videos playing in the background. Music was relaxing, and the massage setting on the chairs always gets the kinks out of back. Initial Visit: The pedicure and manicure I had today were okay. I give such a low review based on both the initial visit and the remedy that was offered. I felt like the man who gave my pedicure rushed, as I finished twice as fast as my mother. The same guy also did a very bad job at my mother's manicure with cat eye gel nail polish. I'd bet it was his first time using the polish as I noticed him looking over at the woman who had to step in mid way through my manicure. Which brings me to the worst part of the visit. To be honest, I felt as if no one really knew how to successfully do cat eye nails here. I've had it done before at other salons and it's actually turned out glossy/glass looking. Both my mother and I look like we just have glittery gel nails. Somehow even though I chose a darker color, it ended up lighter than my mother's. My mother's is particularly worse. There's no dimension at all, especially compared with the sample. We should have just picked a glittery colored gel and saved ourselves the time and upcharge. We both decided to just accept our nails because we didn't want to be trapped at the salon longer(I came during a work lunch break), especially since we didn't really have confidence that our manicures would be done better a second time. Shout out to Louisa who did an amazing job on my mother's pedicure! Post Initial Visit: I did fill out the automated text message review that told us to come back in to get it fixed because we chose unhappy as an option. I convinced my mother to come back, she didn't want to initially, but as we're currently trying new nail places in town, I convinced her that depending on how things are handled, we may or may not come back. We went back and the manager tried telling us that it's just some colors that don't get the dimensional effect. I am pretty confident it's just in the technique of how the magnet is used. At the salon I went to before they did the magnet part completely different. Both the woman who did my nails and the man who did my mother's did the magnet part completely different from each other. There was no consistency. They tried to put some other gel and another coat over what was already done to see if my mother liked the difference but the additional silver gel completely changed the color and the additional layer of the same color did nothing as the base was bad. They did offer to do a completely different color on my mom but she really wanted to effect of the cats eye nail. She also felt like the staff was getting mad and didn't feel comfortable asking for a change so she just asked them to fix up the test nail and wanted to leave. I didn't want to push further because I could tell she was uncomfortable and I felt that there was just miscommunication happening. The manager gave us a $10 gift card to come back but honestly, I'm not sure if we will or not. TLDR: I had a rushed pedicure, and good manicure until they started doing cats eye nail polish. My mother had a great pedicure with a bad manicure(same guy who did my pedicure - he was kind, this is not trying to bash him, just observation). We came back to at least fix my mom's manicure. Please read the post initial visit section for that experience. Overall the staff was kind and the place is clean, I just wouldn't recommend getting a special nail here based off my visit. Why do write such a long review for this? I just feel like if others are coming in wanting to do this nail look, I don't want you to be disappointed like my mother and I, as it is an additional charge. read more

Third time getting my natural nails done here with Levi. I absolutely adore my nail tech and how patient he is despite how busy the shop may get. My first appointment I asked for acrylic but Levi gave me the confidence to keep my natural nails and let them grow out. Now my nails are super long and extremely healthy thanks to his recommendation to get gel builder instead! He always takes his time to make sure my nails are even and asks questions to reassure me I'm getting what I want. This nail shop is so peaceful even when there are a lot of people there. I'm genuinely sad to write this review but I've been going here for a while and the work they did was always good, until my last time.... I was here last week for a pedi. Pedi came out gorgeous but two days after, I started to feel pain on my left toe. Now it looks like I have an infected ingrown toenail. I am not sure if it was their tools, the way they cut the nail or what. I've never dealt with anything nail-infection related before so now I'm stuck with dealing with this. read more

Well I spent $30 dollars on the worst pedicure that I have had in a long time. She was finished in 25 minutes and did a horrible job. Apparently her name was Anne she spent the whole time talking to her coworker who by the way looked like she was doing a good job on the girl next to me. The guy who owns the place was gone and there was only one guy and three girls working. The place was empty except for me and the girl next to me. I left her a three dollar tip just to let her know how rude she was. My little granddaughter could have done a better job. What a waste of $33 dollars, so disappointing. I have been coming to Diamond Nail Spa since they opened. I loved coming here and would tell all my friends. I've been very loyal to DNS. Wouldn't go anywhere else. Even after my favorite people would no longer work there. All that changed when I saw Kathy at Costco and she pointed to me and started hiding. She didn't know I saw her. But I did. And it left a really bad taste in my mouth. I'm no longer going to support a business that feels they have to hide from customers out of work. I came in originally with my daughter, we got mani/pedis. I got a gel mani/pedi. I came in with long natural nails, she said she wanted to lightly file them to match them(I had already done this but thought maybe she sees something I don't) so I said okay. She filed them OFF, literally half the length and very crooked. She finished and several of my nails didn't even have the sides painted close to the skin.. I sucked it up and said oh well, hopefully my next manicure will be better. Fast forward 5 days and the gel is peeling off.. I call and go back in and ask if she can just repaint them, same color... she proceeds to file them again saying she has to, in order to fix them. Once she got the gel off, there is literally no more nail left. At this point 8 just said please don't repaint them, I'll do them at home. Now I have extremely thin nails, extremely short, and waisted over $100 to go home with my nails like this. It's a nice salon, seems clean, but please if they try to give you the older lady with glasses on the far right chair, ask for someone else. I wasted money I had saved yo to finally treat myself and now I have to wait for them to grow back and hopefully thicken back up. read more

I was a long time customer of Diamond Nail Spa because of the great environment and staff. However, after changes in management and ownership that is no longer the case. I recently made an appointment with Hang and was told she had a family emergency when I arrived but I later found out this was a lie. Instead of being honest with their customers that the staff I requested had left the business, new management lied so I wouldn't cancel my appointment. I will no longer bring my business to Diamond Nail Spa because I only support businesses that are run with integrity and respect for their clients. Luckily for me, I now know that Kathy, Hang and most of the other original Diamond Nail Spa staff that dearly appreciate and recommend to anyone have moved to the Venetian Nail Spa in Mchenry Village. read more

I've been here in the past, several years ago, and it was decent (customer service and nail work). It's been a few years and I was desperate to get a regular pedicure and gel manicure (with my real nails). So I decided to get it done; October 29th, 2022. Long story short, here are the details: 1. I called to make an appt over the phone; a male answered the phone with a strong Asian accent, voice not clear when answering so it wasn't difficult for me to understand him. I just told him a time. (FYI; I'm asian too.) 2. When I entered the nail salon, it was grimy and there was a huge fly flying around. I wasn't greeted happily and was told to just to select a color. 3. My pedicure was meh; I felt it was rushed and the lady did not do a good job at polishing my toes. I felt sorry for her cuz she's an older Asian lady. 4. I have real nails with a gel manicure that was about 1.5 months old and wanted the old gel removed and to have a French gel manicure done, with more of the white covering my real nails. A young Asian guy was assigned ti me and was removing the old gel; it was difficult to communicate with him because he doesn't speak English and so the other staff had to interpret for him. My nail was filed so much that it broke! I was heart brokened. So the older short Asian guy, wearing sparking jeans, possibly a manager, came to me and looked at my nails; I showed him the photos of how I wanted my nails to look and also showed him a pic of my nails with the French gel done as a reference for them; he then said that that the photo was of an acrylic/fake nail and not of a natural nail. He accused me why I would use a photo from the internet and claim it was my natural mail/hand. So this guy practically said I was lying about the photo I showed him; which was a truly a picture of my own hand. Why would I lie about my own photo?! I was frustrated. I told them I don't want anything else done, got up to pay. I was nice enough and still gave them a tip which I regret!! I only felt sorry for the workers cuz I feel they are possibly undocumented and working under the table. Hence, I do not recommend this place!! Horrible customer service. Staff unable to communicate clearly or speak English. read more

Temperature checks and sign ins at the door, I believe everyone has to sign a waiver before getting serviced but the techs that helped us were super friendly. The first time I went they charged me $65 for a gel mani and gel pedi. Second time for the same exact service it went up to $85. The gel mani that day was $50. They were very rushed and skimped on the massages. The worst thing was my nails started to chip after day 3. I asked his opinion but at first he was hesitant to say something, but when he finally did, I went with his recommendations which were slightly different than mine and came out why better than mine. His color options were on point with what I wanted, his marbling is beautiful and love the gold he added. He was very kind and respectful. We even talked a little bit.
