It is very convenient to come here when you are pressed on time, I do feel like the prices are a little high for the add ins but most facials are AND clearly I wouldn't expect anything less from such a nice place. I would suggest offering a blanket at the beginning is a better option than during the red light therapy. Because the fans were in and I was freezing, of course I could've spoke up. I so really wanted to enjoy this open concept facial bar in Modesto, but I left very underwhelmed. The service was fine but the atmosphere was unpleasant. I knew it wouldn't be in a private room, but there was only one other client in the room and all I could here from him was foul language and how he kept talking smack about Modesto. His esthetician just kept laughing and agreeing with him, but when I go to get a spa treatment, I don't expect to hear crude language and feel uncomfortable. I think I would have felt better about it if I hadn't spent $116 for a facial. I do believe I overpaid for my facial as part of the facial experience is the relaxation and ambience. I did not have the energy to say anything to this young millennial as I was just trying to relax but couldn't. Another annoying thing was that the music played wasn't "spa" music. It was like "Coffee House" music...Dave Matthews and John Mayer. This music doesn't exactly get me in a relaxation zone. Also, there were a ton of fans on and I hate that type of background noise but again did not have the energy to ask them to turn them off. I figured the estheticians were hot. Overall, I will not come back here unless I'm in a super bind for a facial cleanse. I do think it's overpriced for the experience you will have. But I think it is nice for a large party and girl's day. I really enjoyed my facial at the Facial Bar! I've visited the location downtown and I wanted to give the new location a whirl! I was impressed by the cute and clean aesthetic of the space. The front desk receptionist was so welcoming and helped me select the service that was right for me. I decided to just walk in on a rainy Saturday but apparently a couple of large groups of ladies had the same idea. The staff was very apologetic for my wait (about an hour) but offered champagne and a free upgrade for my time! I was paired up with Wynter for my brightening facial and it was so relaxing! Those chairs are absolute heaven with their heating element and vibration! I can tell the products they use are high quality and my skin was glowing afterwards! Overall, I had a great experience and I'll definitely be back. The only reason I docked a point was the noise in the space. Since the treatment space is only separated partially from the reception area, it's a little distracting to hear the commotion in the front while you're trying to relax. I guess the day I was there was a strange situation since there were 2 larger groups. Not a deal breaker! If I'm looking for the ultimate relaxation experience I know I can visit the Nirvana location downtown, but this is a great option for a quick and lovely skin treat! read more

I had always been hesitant of getting another facial as I had a horrible experience in the past when I had one in LA. That one left me with breakouts for 3 months, with uneven skin, and self-conscious image. I had heard about Nirvana and their team and how they had a breadth of facials with different serums, enhancements and boosts to improve and maintain your skin. I booked my appointment with Candace and upon arriving was immediately greeted with a smile by the sweet gal at the front desk. I filled out the necessary paperwork and indulged in a quick refreshment and then Candace came in to bring me back. We talked about my skin, what my problem areas are, what my goals are, and we customized my facial. Oh, and I got to lie down in this fancy chair that vibrates and is heated...and got a blanket. 100% comfy. After a quick, painless sugaring (I swear I will never go to a place with hard wax ever again), it was time for my facial. The next 60 minutes were nothing less than heavenly; there were exfoliating treatments, moisturizers, serums, LED treatments, a few stubborn blackheads, and this awesome Gua Sha treatment which was the lymphatic treatment. Candace explained each step of the process to me during my experience. At the end, I saw my reflection and felt like years have been taken off my face. The puffiness under my eyes had diminished greatly, and my dark circles were significantly lighter. Candace talked about the different serums which I could try (vitamin A, and undereye cream, for my problem areas) but she was never pushy. I have been to many a salon (hair, waxing, etc) where products are pushed on you, but this was not the case. I happily purchased both products and will follow her instructions on the best times/ways to use them. First of all: DO NOT go to Nicole if you don't want your eyelashes ruined. I went to her last spring for lash extensions. It was the first time I had gotten extensions and I had done a lot of research prior to going in. To start, she blatantly was just not a very nice person. She was rude and impersonal. During the process, she kept getting irritated with me because apparently my eyes were twitching (this is not really a voluntary action, especially when you have sharp tools close to your eyeballs!!!). She applied lashes to not just one of my lashes like she was supposed to, but would apply one false lash to multiple of my lashes (this is not the correct way to apply lashes and can ruin your own eyelashes). My eyes constantly hurt and were itchy and red because of the way she applied them. I had text her, advising her of what I was going through and she wasn't empathetic. She is NovaLash certified, but apparently that doesn't mean as much as I thought it did. I did not return to Nicole after my first appointment and I ended up going to Dena. She was great! Very sweet and knowledgeable and truthful. I went to her for quite awhile. I stopped going because my eyelashes (which were pretty nice on their own before) had gotten short and thin. I asked Dena if the extensions were ruining my lashes and she very truthfully told me that they don't exactly ruin your lashes, but it's kind of the same concept as continually getting fake nails; your nails get thin and brittle and take a while to return to normal.
