I usually do my own nails but due to crunch time I decided to go to get them at this place as I saw that they were nominated one of the best Nail spot in Modesto in 2024. I believe the owner is the one who did my nails. When I set down on the chair, she started removing the polish that I had, then she went on to put her Orly builder gel without cleaning the dust that was left on the nails and without shaping them and that alone already made me unhappy but I didn't say anything then By the time the Orly builder gel was dry, I already noticed that the nails were uneven and I still didn't say anything. I even had to ask her to clean my cuticles when I asked her, she brought a small bowl with not even warm water and cuticle removal cream. She started removing my cuticles and one of my fingers started bleeding slowly, she saw it and did nothing until she saw that there was a quite a bit of blood. Then she put oil on my cuticles and that's it, done. No cream, no massage nothing and I paid $50 for that. Just sooo unhappy. I came previously to get a pedicure too and the nail polish was horrible, you could see the lines of the brush all over, it wasn't even either. They show you a timer for the minutes of your massage but while the timer is running they go get your towel and they started cleaning your legs during that time not worth it. Will not come here again. I gave it 2 tries already. Lashes are not that great either. The eyelashes posted, they are different from what they give you so idk if they are legit their pictures or just taken from internet. read more

I waited an extreme amount of time 30-1hr with many nail and feet service providers ready. I used to support them and get my nails done here but will not be coming back. Other times, I leave feeling slightly irritated or frustrated. More often than not, my nails have turned out beautifully, but my most recent visit left me unhappy with my manicure. I love this place! I have been coming here for about a year now and plan to keep coming back. I love having my nails done but the typical noisy nail salon atmosphere can give me anxiety. Not Serenity though! This salon is very quiet, peaceful and relaxing. They are usually playing really interesting videos of cooking or gardening that are almost like ASMR as well as soft music. All of the staff I have experienced have been nice and they always check in as they go to make sure they are doing what you want them to do (shape, length, etc) and inform you of the price you should be expecting to pay as well. They also had an adorable dog name Rocky who was very well-trained, quiet and not disruptive. Went to get my nails filled and Jennifer helped me. I wanted French tips again and she cut my nails down and started cutting away the acrylic on my pinky nail and it hurt I said ow and pulled my hand away and she didnt even offer a sorry just kept going again. Then said she couldn't match the color acrylic I already had on so I could either do solid color polish or take all my nails off for a new full set. She told me I should just go to the place that did my nails last and I did. Horrible service!!! She clearly doesn't know what shes doing and the nail tech at NT nails salon asked what did she use to trim down your nails because they were all messed up a jagged I told her she used nail clippers and she said nail techs shouldn't be using nail clippers to trim down acrylics. I hate to write this review, but I feel it's necessary. I was a regular customer, going in biweekly to get my lash extensions done with Jenny. She was fabulous! So gentle and I always loved her work. They lasted three weeks sometimes, which was great! Ever since she left, the other lady has been doing my lashes. She is so so sweet and kind, however, her taping technique KILLED me. The whole time it was so painful and my eyelids were hurting for days after. It's been 1 week today and my left eye is almost bald. Just a few lashes are hanging on like Cynthia's hair in The Rugrats. She also placed them in a way that some were jabbing my eyelids when I blinked, which was also really painful. I've been going to this salon for two years, and this was my worst experience. Sadly I don't think I will be going back again. $100 is a lot to spend in this economy, and when I'm paying for a service, I want a quality service, and I also don't want to deal with so much pain, when it should not be painful at all. Online dilution goes for $10. At the salon they are selling it for $7. The lotion is worth every penny! As for my Manny Petty, how do you suggested something a little different than what I was asking for. I gave her artistic freedom. I am more than pleased with her design. It's absolutely beautiful. I got my nails done here for the first time a few weeks ago. The tech was nice, the salon was clean. It only took about an hour , or a little more for my service (acrylic full set). The tech achieved the design i wanted, and I was very happy. The nails were a bit thinner than I've gotten before, but i didn't think much of it. My pinky nail broke off while shopping just a week after getting them done. I let them grow out because i didn't plan on getting them redone. Last week, my pointer finger nail snapped in half, ripping half of my actual nail off with it. The removal was very painful. I work in a restaurant, and I have never ever had issues with any other nails I have gotten. They have never chipped or broken off. I was not rough with them either. It was just disappointing to pay $95 + a tip when the set didn't even last a week. The design was beautiful and exactly what I asked for, but the quality just wasn't there. read more

Be cautious of this place . They have rough techs and they raised their prices so much. I have moved my business to a ripon place and they are so gentle effective and so sweet. Plus their prices are amazing. I will not go back to Serenity. I paid 60 dollars for a bad pedicure and when I called back to let them know I was not happy they denied me a refund. They instead told me to come in and they will "fix" them. I had them remove the gel because I had never experienced pain like that before. I have been getting pedicures with gel for years. I was told it's normal to feel pain . also they took a picture of my feet before they removed the gel . This tells me they have had problems in the past and my daughter and I used to go here a lot for both nails and pedicures over the years. They did a bad job and didn't want to admit it. Plus over charge for dead skin to still be on my feet, bad gel job and painful toes. They gave me a 15.00 gift card to come back. No thanks and I'll stick to my ripon tech. So much better read more

More than half my nails were crooked and when I called and asked what they could do they assured me they would be redone if I returned. So I returned only to have them only file them to try and make them appear straight and despite me consistently asking them to redo them they insisted they left them "perfect" and there was nothing else they could do. I asked for at least a partial refund due to the fact that I still did not like them and they continued to say I was wrong and they were perfect. read more
