I must have called 15 different places and nobody knows what hard gel is (liquid gel). I do not do acrylic at all, my nails don't like it. I was very happy to find this place. Vivi dis my nails. She was very sweet and patient which is different. Although it did take 2.5 hours for a full set. I opted for heidi to reshape for me. I would definitely be back for her. Even though I didn't ask, she offered a gift certificate for the future. I will definitely be back. Fills my nails within 30 mins, high quality strong nails but not thick.. I never break a nail! I can go a whole month between fills that's how long they last. She's a great artist and can do any design you want! If Trinity ever plans to be out for vacation, she lets me know so if I need a fill before or after I'm not left hanging. I highly recommend this place! I live in the Bay Area and have a nail salon there but ever since I've been coming here I enjoy it a lot better. So I make my way over to Modesto every 3-4 weeks to come here instead! The service is never rushed and the employees are sweet. The people seem nice there but my nails look like I've done them myself and that isn't a compliment. I didn't get upset it seemed like the person that did my nails was new at doing it and overall they look good from afar but up lose they look a week old and uneven. Returned to Serenity Nail Salon, on 5/3/2017, after Trinity, the nail salon owner contacted me via Messenger (05/02/17) approximately one week after my messages and contact info to her on various media. After refunding my money for the facial waxing gone BAAAAD, Trinity, the nail salon owner, suggested that I use my refunded money to "see someone" about my pustules (pus filled pimples); a direct result of their faulty protocol, possible contaminated wax, and 'communal' use of an antibiotic on my face! Trinity, the nail salon owner, also "diagnosed" my pustules (pus filled pimples) as, "looks like a rash." Linda (Trinity's mother and the waxer who performed my facial waxing) came over, looked at my still erupted face, walked away, no apology, nothing. I asked if Linda was certified to do waxing. today was the first time coming to serenity nail salon. i made an appointment and only had to wait 5 minutes before getting my nails started. i loved the atmosphere and how there wasn't so many people overcrowding the salon. Heidi did my nails & they look beyond amazing!! she is a perfectionist and took her time. the only downfall which is why i put 4 stars, is that it is very pricey & i unfortunately won't be able to afford returning here. you definitely get what you pay for and if i had the money i would continue coming. other than the price of my nails this salon was great! my nails: $45 + design on 2 nails $10 ($5/nail) + $5 tip= $60. sadly i can't afford this but if i could it would be worth it!! read more

It makes me so sad to give this place a 2 star review as it used to be my favorite place to come to years ago. I came in for a pedicure today and I was hoping for the same great service as before. I do nails myself and decided to come as I was in need of some pampering, but ended up being more stressed throughout the whole thing than relaxed. The tools used on me did not come out of a sterilized individual pack like they used to do before, and after I asked the tech to only file and not clip my nails, she proceeded to clip. I was not asked what pedicure I would be having and the tech just gave me whichever pedicure they chose for me to have. The end result was an uneven pedicure, with polish on my skin and no defined smile line between the cuticle and polish. Sad to say, but I will probably not be coming back. read more
