Great food. My personal favorite is biscuits and gravy with fried taters. Pam likes the pancakes, bacon and eggs.

Absolutely delicious breakfast! I had the country fried steak, sliced potatoes and scrambled eggs with cheese, service was fast and extremely nice. Restaurant is actually very large inside and was very busy! Highly impressed and we will be back!

sat down for an early dinner on sunday. greeted and sat almost immediately. service was quick and friendly. server recommendation was the blackened catfish and that's what i had i chose the green beans and french fries for my sides and it came out rather quickly. fresh, hot, and flavorful. i didn't think i was hungry when i sat down. but shortly after my first few bites i realized i had finished. fish was tender and seasoned perfectly. the fries were crunchy but lacked salt. the green beans were great although they had a bit too much juice, and the bacon if crispy would've been an excellent addition. overall everything was great and i would definitely come back.

This place is great. It's an old log cabin turned into a restaurant. The decor is great. The menu has a pretty good variety. I've been going here for years and am always so impressed with how busy they stay. Even when busy though, service has always been good for me. I've liked everything I've ever tried... except the frog legs. To be fair, it was the only time I'd ever tried frog legs and I don't think I'd like them anywhere. The friend I was with loved them though! It is awesome they have them on their menu. They have a lot of southern favorites like fried green tomatoes and Kentucky hot brown. Some of my top favorite things of theirs are their ribs, their buffalo chicken wrap, their onion rings, and any of their breakfast food. I also love their salads as they make their own croutons and they are fire! Their ranch is good too. If you are in the area, they are definitely worth trying.

We went to the Log Cabin on our way home from Big Bone Lick. We were hot and sweaty from hiking, it was over 90° that day and was hoping to cool down, but it was extremely hot in here. I am not sure if that is the norm. Our server forgot to bring the hot slaw that I asked for, but after thinking about it as hot as it was, it probably wouldn't have been the best thing for a hot person trying to cool down. It was a lot busier this time than it was the first time we were there.

This place is the real deal. The prices were amazing, portions were huge, and the food was delicious. I usually strongly dislike biscuits unless they're drowning in gravy, but I put butter and jam on their biscuit and it was the stuff of dreams. Buttery and fluffy and sent from heaven. The service was also top notch and our glasses were never empty during our meal. Can't wait to come back and try their legendary pancakes!

I have eaten at this establishment several times the food is always outstanding your old country breakfasts like grandma used to fix. The service has always been outstanding and the price is very reasonable. The facility is very clean and very neat considering it's an old old cabin. I highly recommend eating any meal at this establishment.

Log Cabin has long been one of our favourite little restaurants over the years. It has underone some changes in that time but the great food and classic environment have remained in place. On this occasion we started with a sampler which had a good amount of their appetizers. Included were cheese logs, potato skins, and chicken tenders. The tenders were pretty good as were the cheese logs/sticks. My favourite of this group were the loaded skins which had cheese and bacon bits and of course sour cream for dipping. Really good. For my main course I tried the Open Face Roast Beef With Mashed Potatoes. It waa covered with a delicious brown gravy that brought the whole thing together and made it a really fantastic dish. They really piled the delicious roast beef on which was nice and their mashed potatoes were one of the better one's that I've had. The service was really good and rounded out another delicious lunch at Log Cabin.

Outstanding! Stopped for lunch and this place seemed to be out of the way in the sticks...I was wrong because when I pulled in the parking lot was packed, the restaurant was packed and I ended up sitting at the bar along with several other single serve patrons. I had the liver and onions which seems to be difficult to find. This was an outstanding offering. I would come here for this or several other items off the menu. It seems this place really knows how to put it out. Service was also exceptional with several servers checking in on me. Go out of your way and stop in for a meal.

service was horrible. First time here. Menu actually brought me here. Wanted to see if a good recommendation for our 6-10 lunch group that meets weekly. The food taste was definitely a 5 star, sides could've been hot not warm. Chicken cooked to perfection. The service was the problem and it wasn't even busy

The service was excellent. Our server was very attentive and kept drink refills flowing. We ordered the pretzel and beer cheese and the poutine for starters. The pretzel was huge and tasty. I didn't care for the beer cheese, probably because I was expecting a more solid cheese product. I would describe this more as a cream sauce. It didn't seem to have much cheese in it and was very 'liquidy'. Also the ramekin was only half full. If it had tasted better, I would have asked for more, but as it was not, we didn't even finish what was given. I thought it was a bit pricey at $12.95 for one large pretzel. On the other hand, the poutine was fantastic! A very unique take on the dish with a mix of cheese curds (although they reminded me more of pieces of mozzarella sticks), french fries and Andouille cream gravy. I ordered the fish tacos which consisted of Blackened Salmon, Thai Chili Sauce, Black Bean Corn Salsa, Pico de Gallo. My order came with two and they were fantastic! Since Blinkers is known for steaks, I will have to give them another try at dinner time.

Wow! What a way to spend our 1 year wedding anniversary! I loved this place…read more It has been a few months since eating here but I still find myself thinking about it. Our next trip to Cincinnati; It will be extremely difficult to stay away from here. We spent the day in Newport and around Cincinnati and wanted somewhere nice for the occasion. I was iffy on this place at first... you can throw a rock all over America and hit a place with 'Barrel' in the name these days. The Yelp reviews swing both ways here but I'm here to tell you my take... because it swings so far towards the 5 stars that it's very much a 6 or 7 star place(maybe more). We gauged our arrival time based on other activities that day. We wanted ample time at the nearby Lego exhibit so when we arrived there, we made a reservation for 4:30-5. Eating early and making our way back to Louisville was a great idea. The entire time we were there, no one else came in so we had the entire place to ourselves(It was a Friday). The atmosphere is homey but during busy times, I could see it being noisy. The booths could easily fit 6 people comfortably... probably 8 in some cases depending on how wide some of you are. Special Note: This place highlights The Parrillada Experience for Two on their menu and we wanted it! We didn't order it because at a price tag of 130-and pictures online, we didn't want it to be a failed outing. After our first trip, The Parrillada Exp will be on the agenda next time. It's a mixture of different steaks, sausages, shrimp, sides, and salads. Definitely worth the cost. On to the food: Sausage App - Argentine Chorizo. Farmhouse Sausage. Grilled Ciabatta. Hearts of Palm. Green/Red chimichurri. Pepper Relish. I don't like ordering this type of dish when I go places because you never know if it's going to be delicious or very bad. It ended up being super delicious. We couldn't make up our mind which sauce we liked the best and which meat we liked the best. App PERFECTION! Land and Sea - This is what my wife went with. Asada Skirt Steak. Jumbo Shrimp. Asparagus. Red chimichurri butter. I had bites of the shrimp and it was good. I had to save room for my dish. Wagyu Denver Cut - I went back and forth. Lobster ravioli being on the menu almost made my decision instant but I was going back and forth between ravioli, steak, and a few other things. I asked the server which he recommended of the 4 Chef's cuts. He recommended two... one of which was the Wagyu so I went with it. I wasn't disappointed AT ALL. He mentioned that the Wagyu Denver Cut was a new addition to the menu... I'm not sure but you could definitely tell it was cooked, arranged, and presented with care. I savored every angle of every bite. We also ordered a side of brussels because of course! Originally we were going to dessert somewhere else but went ahead and ordered the Hazelnut Vanilla Creme Brulee here. Perfect ending to the meal. This brulee was light and had the right amount of crunch. It was also larger than expected. We had no complaints with this place. Easily one of the better restaurants I've had in Cincinnati. If you're doubting visiting this place, take the dive! Other notes: They have beer and a small cocktail variety but they primarily seem focused on wine(plenty of options to choose from).

We were greeted by a very friendly hostess, and our equally pleasant server quickly brought menus and asked what we would like to drink. When it was my turn, I happily ordered Coppin's Old Fashioned. I was the odd man out because everyone else ordered the Spring Manhattan. Judging by how quickly everyone's drinks disappeared, I'd say they were all very tasty. I was a little unsure about mine at first, so to make sure the quality and taste were consistent, I ordered a second, and it definitely was not a mistake. I ordered the B+G biscuits (which are made by hand according to server in the hotel) and gravy with an extra egg. Others at the table chose a variety of dishes, including the CVG, Cobb Salad, Bagel and Lox, and several other selections. Based on the clean plates all around the table, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. My wife ordered a sample of banana bread, and I was fortunate enough to snag a small bite, it was excellent. For us, having Cole Thompson as part of the team caring for us was an even bigger highlight. Cole is one of the kindest and most skilled servers we have had in Cincinnati. He has an instinct for exactly when and how to serve the table so as not to interrupt the meal. He takes quiet initiative to make sure everything at the table is as it should be. He is relatively new, and his hiring tells me new managers, like Daniel, are steering the restaurant in the right direction. Friends, I have been avoiding Ruby's ever since I took my out-of-town relatives there last year, and was completely embarrassed by the obsequious service we received. It was truly awful. It was cringe. The server enquired of, and kept calling my guests by, their first names. All the server had to do was see the looks on their faces and how they recoiled every time the server approached the table to see this was not appreciated. The meal was all about them, the servers. Their constant dialogue about themselves was disturbing and jarring. It was obvious to me that this patter was being taught. These servers were being formally trained to run the table as if it were dinner theatre. Gruesome. Therefore, I made this week's reservation with some trepidation. However, having Cole Thompson serve us changed all of that. We will be back again this month. Foodwise, the Freddie Salad is delicious. The king crab legs and jumbo prawn cocktail are exactly as they should be. I would appreciate a few simply prepared green vegetable offerings to pair with the steak. And for the menu items at Ruby's, the more simply prepared are the best. (By the way, "rare" really does mean rare for steaks at Ruby's! All other steakhouses in the area serve medium rare when rare is ordered.) I think Ruby's needs to bring in a young, innovative but classically trained chef to address how meals are plated and served, and to tweak the menu a bit. I think they need more flair and care at this price point. The organization showed this kind of intelligence when creating the new space, which feels fresh while still delivering the coziness imparted by tradition. The same constructive approach to the food would be intelligent.
